I've recently started watching Merlin and I'm ob-sessed. These two crack me up and make me cry at the same time so I thought I'd make a little happy-go-lucky video about them. This song was literally written for Merthur.

In the TV series they often bickered & secretely were jealous of each other; nevertheless their bromance cracked me up many times also because their relationship wasn't simply a friendship, but it was a true & unspeakable love between two men in an imaginary Middle Ages. about 'imaginary'. true, Arthur being that emotionally stunted so he could almost never get himself to show genuine affection towards Merlin (other than in an indirect way or the actor betraying his character with his eyes and admiration for Colin) is a thing from our present, baked into the show by writers who were too afraid to frighten off international buyers for a family show. Arthur is a figure from sub-Roman Britannia (late 5th/early 6th century) and nobody back then would have batted an eye if the resident bigwig (local warlord) had a thing for his servant. not even the few Christians would have had an issue with that. not for almost a thousand years

I've watched quite a bit of Asian BL shows since Merlin (Thai, Taiwanese, Japanese, Vietnamese even Chinese and recently Filipino) and all of them had much more skinship than Merlin ever had. In these BL shows the protagonists kissed and had sex but none of them came remotely close in getting to my heart and occupying a special place there for years than 'Merlin'. How is that possible?
