I can't believe it's been 7 years since I first watched this. I recall it being a bit more HD than it is, but I'm still totally in love with this song, and this video. Nobody does the Italian Mermaid Melody soundtrack like you do, ahaha!
This song is so beautiful! I like the english version because I heard it first, but I can relate to her pain in the italian version. Her pain is very tangible to me, and I feel bad for her. This is a wonderful song, and I don't get why people would hate it.
Personally, I love both Assolute Amore and Return to the Sea. And Sara's not really evil, she's just seriously bitter (and seriously TICKED) about Mitsuki-san. Thanks for uploading! :)
I love this song. I might even love it more than I love the Japanese version (if nothing else because I can actually sing along with this version!). Still, this version just doesn't have the sense of bitterness and abandonment that the original had. Even without comparing translations of lyrics, you can tell that the Japanese version is more emotional.
the last page of a fairy tale has been re-written and changed into tragedy even one person's heart who believed in it, it"s been lost. Love and dreams are nothing more but a sandcastle that"s short-lived, and breakable, even if you didn"t wish it so. But even now, I can"t forget of that song you always used to sing.
@@setsu-chon It almost translates to the exact opposite of the Japanese version, talking about how beautiful love is rather than how painful it is, which… is defintely not the message that needed to be portrayed with it.
@@flowerfaerie8931 as a kid I thought it was purposely meant to be ironic how she was singing such a love filled song while herself having lost all faith in love.
@@flowerfaerie8931 the Italian adjevtive "assoluto" comes from Ancient Latin "absolutus" that means "free from any constraints". The Italian title "Assoluto amore" reminds to that love which is free from any constraints because it is something that goes beyond human actions and will. In fact she sings "l'assoluto di un amore può..." that means "the absolute [form] of a love can..." telling you many of the things this kind of love should be capable of. In the original Japanese song Sara talks about love as a lie, something that hurts you (because of what she lived) and just when her song changes with her coming back to her real self the lyrics becomes more hopeful and less tragical. In my opinion, the Italian lyrics are quite ironical 'cause they tells about this strong and powerful love (the "absolute" one) that from Sara's point of view does not actually exist. So she is actually singing about something that is supposed to be able to do a lot of things, but at the same time during the song she asks to the Ocean (calling it "father") to placate the injustice she is living and from this particular it is clear she believes love can't really help her or anybody fixing up all that went wrong. Without knowing the character, the Italian song anyway could sound just as a celebration of supreme love power, but I have always thought the reality behind our Italian lyrics is different. In my opinion these lyrics have a double reading.
