Adora is so focused on the job at hand that sorting her emotions comes last. Both when she was a cadet and not seeing that the Horde was obviously the bad guys like Catra did and now focusing on the rebellions needs and not the fact her longest friend is still with the evil, abusive villains.
When I first watched this episode, I thought Sea Hawk would be a one time character for comidic relief. How I was wrong, but I love him! Plus I love the fact that Bow lowkey crushes on him 🤣 And Seamista, of course!
Catra is an abuse victim who’s spiraling. Most anti-catra folk don’t seem to understand it, but Adora is Catra’s lifeline. And in her mind, Adora abandoned her. So she lashes out at her for it, saying and doing things she knows hurts her, for most of the series. Adora writes her off like she does because Catra initially wrote her off. She’s taken Catra’s actions and words at face value because she needs to to cope with her situation. She can’t take the time to stop and analyze Catra’s actions and behaviors because she has her own trauma to cope with. So Adora sees her reject the “right” side and says “fine.” Because her energy and mindset can’t handle the Horde being evil actually, her new responsibilities and trying to help Catra at the same time, so she just doesn’t. I don’t think it’s conscious personally. She’s not actively ignoring her or anything, her mind is just coping with it all by identifying her as a villain.
I love how deep you go into the characters beliefs and why they handle things the way they do because it's so easy to blame maybe Adora or Catra for their actions but there is a lot behind that as well!
