I can still remember when Merrill married Mary in September 1973, and all us "girls" were heartbroken, as if she somehow "stole" him from us...ah, the immaturity and silliness of youth...They have gone on to create a most wonderful union and legacy for their children. More than a little teary-eyed to see another chapter in the Osmond family legacy come to a close. They were such an impactful part of our young teen years and really inspired us to be the best versions of ourselves (in all aspects), as we grew up and older. Their influence on an entire generation of the young girls and women (Os-fans), who followed them for over 50 years, can never be underestimated.
Totally love how you said that, and yes us Os-Fans struck gold with them, we’ve been through every asset of our liv with these wonderful men… yes it’s heartbreaking to see another chapter come to the close, the same being not able to see them, Osmond Brothers 5 Always and Forever 💙🧡🖤💚💜
There were some guys who followed the Osmonds like that. We just couldn't say it out loud. I became a professional musician because of the Osmond's. My sister died many years ago but we sang together all the time when we were kids pretending to be The Osmonds . Then a few years later Donny and Marie. I play 9 instruments all self taught because they played so many instruments and I wanted to do the same. I remember them playing numerous instruments on the Andy Williams show. They were such and inspiration for me. I'm 58 and I still play professionally with other 70's rock stars. I was never lucky enough to cross paths with an Osmond but If I did I would thank them for being a huge inspiration in my life. They actually made me a better person. Thank you Osmonds. I don't know why I would waste time saying this on here since no Osmond will ever see it. Well my point is guys were also inspired by them. I just didn't want to marry any of them. lol
@@BernieGarzio Not even Marie, lol? That is an awesome story thank you for sharing. I’m sorry for the loss of your sister that would’ve had to been very difficult, Yes they also were/are very talented and inspirational, 1967 on the Jerry Lewis was it for me… The craziness of Osmond mania in the 70s is a forever memory, we got the best of being part of that, it was very difficult to be in the Osmond fan as a female I don’t blame you for keeping it secret… Thank you for sharing your story 💙🧡🖤💚💜

No. Merrill is retired from the U.S. - but still has U.K. shows the rest of the year to finish up, then he will continue Serenity weekends each year. - merrillosmond.com Donny has got a great show in Las Vegas, Nevada that's going on its second year at Harrah's. Marie is still doing various shows and has recently released a opera-type album. Jay created a musical, and that will start back up touring 'round the U.K. soon. (He is not in it, of course.) Alan has retired, though is writing a book, Wayne is retired, Jimmy is retired.
@@MelissaThompson432 Of course.🖤 I am not happy that he is, and I know everyone would love to see more of him as well! I just meant it was refreshing for a celebrity to accept they're old and want to settle and be with family, that's all.
