Absolutely agree, and was going to write the same thing. As usual, Emma Thompson gets it so right and we really feel it. Something really good for her happens in the middle of her desperation. She never, ever expected him to visit, but he did!! Love multiplies and multiplies, connects and connects, like all good and beautiful things delivered to us by the Holy Spirit. This movie is full of Him, surprising as it may seem. Because He (as the very Spirit of love and truth) really is ... all around This is the true meaning of the film, which goes FAR deeper than we think, if only we have the eyes to see it...

I think the English comedy is of a very high standard ... I remember when I was a kid and I saw "Four Weddings and a Funeral" ... brilliant comedy!

Absolutely! He really brings a certain charm to the movie that you don't find in many other actors. His character is so endearing and you can't help but root for him.

Although it claims loudly to be so agnostic and atheist, Britain is closer to God than most know (as Jewish refugee from Hungary Arthur Koestler, quoting also George Orwell, once noted). That is why the Holy Spirit keeps inspiring the creativity of Brits down the ages, not least Shakespeare and Ralph Vaughan Williams, and the hymn-writers, but also Duran Duran, The Beatles, Coldplay, Elbow, Keane, Sting and so on. Probably they do not even know how spiritually-inspired their work is, but it matters not. A huge dose of God's love, mercy and forgiveness is on offer in this movie, which is not surprising because it is a specific and targeted response to the evil of 9/11. Why do you think airports and flying are so key here, and why do you think the finale moves away from the characters in the film to every one of us, as accompanied by "God only knows". The ONLY thing that keeps away the little bit of paradise on Earth (of kindness, love, connectivity, service, and goodwill) that the above clip reveals is our refusal to SEE and to name what we see for what it is. It is God reaching out to us, making 99% of the effort in the hope that we will make the 1%..

Yes, it definitely is! I remember watching Love Actually for the first time and it really made me appreciate the importance of family and love. It's a great reminder that even though things may seem difficult at the moment, you can always find someone to lean on.
