The waxed cup with the duck on it held cottage cheese at Easter and the cups could be used afterward to hold Easter grass and treats. We were simple folk in the 50’s! 👍🏻😁
A little story about the squirrel glove box....Henrietta, the little old lady who loved to feed the yard squirrels, kept nuts in the wooden glove box on her back porch. One day, a new to the neighborhood squirrel named Henry sniffed out the nuts in the box and started gnawing on the box to get to the nutty treats. Gary the dumpster squirrel had been taking a nap and when he woke up, he saw the new squirrel trying to get into his nutty treat box! Gary was fit to be tied and ran as fast as he could to stop the new guy! Just as Gary got to the box, Henry had gotten into the box and taken out the last nut. Needless to say, the fight was on! Henrietta had been out getting more nuts for the box when she saw all this taking place upon her return. It stopped her in her tracks! She then stomped her foot and both Gary and Henry dropped the nut that they were fighting over and just stared at her. Henrietta scolded them both and then took out a nut so they would each have one. She then had the box engraved with the scene of two squirrels fighting over a nut as a reminder of that days events. HAHAHA
There’s another take on the box that I wrote during the video. Completely different! I do like THIS STORY with Henrietta as well!! It’s amazing what the imagination can do with an image. 🥰🎄👏
I don't think the painting was intended to be dark and moody in the beginning. It's just dirty and needs to be cleaned. I worked in art galleries for years and family owned frame shops so I know about paintings that are old and in need of cleaning. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years everyone!
Merry Christmas Jocelyn and Drew, may you and your family have the best Christmas ever. You have brought us so much cheer this year. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the joy! God bless you and keep you in the coming year!
I went thrifting today and found a half frosted half clear blue whale figurine on a glass base for $7.99. It's very heavily, then I found 2 beautiful cloisenai picture frames with dimensional flowers and butterflies and bees on it $1.99 each but on the back they each said $19.99 and I also found a vintage plant holder of a little girl standing by a huge pot another $1.99. There was no one in the store and I found the whale first. Its like a paoer weight but a huge whale instead. I feel very lucky cause I have never found nice stuff like this in a while. Of course it is all for me!
One of my favorite things in 2020 has been watching you and Drew. All your finds have been such a fun adventure. I wish you the best in 2021. God bless your wonderful family. And thank you for sharing so much. I'm 55 years old and I'm proof that there's always room to learn. When I go thrifting I feel smarter and enjoy shopping more than ever because you have shared so much of what you know. Happy holidays and Happy New Year.......Peace
The floral painting is really, really beautiful! Moody? no way! Beautiful? very! I love squirrels and that glove box is too cute! BTW, I LOVE BIG TIME the elephant in the glass cabinet! That is just stunning! That ginger jar is beautiful! It looks like those blank pieces women in the Victorian period would hand paint.
🎄MERRY CHRISTMAS🎄 Those Wade Whimsy Figurines would look amazing in your booth(s) if you set them on a tiered server or stacks of old books from Goodwill at different heights! Plus; if you group them into their different sets, collectors can find a missing piece, buy a whole set, etc. (and Walter doesn’t have to pack a zillion tiny bags, if I had his job, I would take the hard to ship over tiny little pieces🤣)! I know they are all over eBay but that’s to easy, especially when sellers have 5-10 of each piece. It’s the rush of stumbling across one at random or digging through the box of 25¢ items at a yard sale or flea market! I know... I’m preaching to the choir, we all know that once you feel it, your sunk🤪, LOL! As always, TFS & being such a light no matter what you’re doing. Sending you ALL Indiana hugs, love & prayers for good health (especially you brother) & for heaps of Blessings for a wonderful Christmas & a VERY VERY deserved break! 🤗💜🙏🏻⛪️🎄❄️☃️
Merry Christmas Jocelyn🎄 Hope you have a wonderfull holiday with your family. Remember to relax and take some days off. You deserve it🎅😘 Love and light from Denmark🌞
Yeah, there might be a very vibrant painting underneath that coat of varnish. Getting it restored might be more expensive than what you payed for, though.
Would like wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and Joyful new years stay safe and healthy and also keep shopping for the teasures love seeing what you find.
Bahahahaha too funny... I LITERALLY started coughing and hacking at the sight of that stand of tobacco pipes that appeared in my face early in the video lol, how to take me home for the holiday's Jocelyn. Merry Christmas to your whole tribe. Thank you for all the hard work you do, not just to make a living for your adorable family but your audience's pleasure. You amaze me, it's not easy to fit everything you do in a single day and maintain a family...sometimes I could see you are exhausted. JS... I get that trolls can be hurtful but it's also annoying when the one being bullied gives them too much air time. Your voice, content, and personality are why I click and watch everything you put out, I like that you don't give them emphasis. Just saying... I most definitely want you to know how proud of you I am for being real, personally, I could care less about the ignorant comments, I don't read or give them energy except for knowing they are only lifting you up by using " your being" to vent...it's nice to know that your perfectly & beautifully useful fingernails that your Creator gave you also gives other beings a place to vent. If I read them, which is rare...I usually send them a prayer that their comment lifted enough of their load for them to feel their conscience & need to be regrounded. I use those comments to reflect on myself too, it makes me aware of how much impact what I say can have on complete strangers and innocent bystanders. Occasionally, the less logical thinker in me emerges and I find myself speaking logger language at my computer in defense of my RU-vid Cyber friend lol. I like that I can ghost you for weeks and still find you here ;)
that lamp 'vase' was stunning; I know you don't want to build one but if you were going to--can you imagine what kind of base/shade-globe would go on that? I was just sitting here imagining that....
I MUST comment on the Squirrel Glove Box with my “back” story! The box belonged to Mr. and Mrs. Ddnomla Tun Squirrell. After attempting to unlock it, (the chew marks on the lid) for it contained their winter food storage, they became furious and pushed it out of their nest!! Before doing so, however, they etched the top with a reminder of their argument regarding the contents and quarrel! Thus the 2 squirrels, each trying to pull the nut from the other! A passerby saw the box which opened upon hitting the ground and the contents spilled out, but the passerby picked it up, fascinated by the carved top and chew marks and placed it on a shelf to enjoy until ..., when Jos’ and ‘Drew found it while thrifting!! You’re welcome and Merry 🎄 Christmas to ALL!!🎅🏻🧑🏻🎄
🦋The refrigerator Ceramic piece is named Kelvinator, is an old refrigerator name. I think my mom had one, that she put a block of ice in it. Way before I was born. This place has a lot of eclectic pieces. The elephant (ceramic) was really cool. Love the New England painting. I didn’t see a price it.
