The PEPs are definitely one of BR's best multiple unit designs to date, the fact that theyve lasted for over 40 years proves this fact and there is no way that the Class 777s are going to last that long.
The PEPs are absolutely amazing and I wish we could keep the lot! They really have stood the test of time and it shows in just how long that they have lasted. There is absolutely no way on earth that the 777s will last that long. Things just aren't made to last now! As I'm not a fan at all of the 777s, I am actually hoping for about 15 or 20 years max and then hopefully, Sims will get all of them! 🤣 They look like lego sets and are plastic looking made crap. Nothing now for me on Merseyrail will ever better the PEPs, and the good days soon will be well and truly forever gone. I am fortunate enough to drive and am only on the network at the moment to make the most of the trains that I grew up with which are the PEPs. Once they are fully no more, I completely won't be bothering with it or the 777s.
