Backstory: police responded to a call of about a man passed out behind the wheel. Once located the car was confirmed stolen. Hence a ‘felony stop’ was warranted in such a situation.
@David Shields Anecdotal evidence.... If the car comes back as stolen they need to get confirmation of ownership. If you refuse to provide proof, or even comply with officers then you will be pulled out and arrested until it can be confirmed. This is standard SOP. If you pull out a gun, then expect to be shot. It couldn't be clearer.
I don't think the majority of stolen cars go to a chop shop. More often they just drive around with them, as ridiculous as that is. I've heard of people stealing cars and renting them out- like "I'll give you 50 bucks to use the car for a few hours,
It's very clear that they did that intentionally. Look at all of the officers involved... every one of them is wearing a body camera not to mention all of their vehicles are pointing in the direction that they are all looking and shooting. Releasing these three body cameras is an intentional obstruction of the Public's view of the incident. They are seemingly only releasing body camera footage that doesn't show what needs to be seen.
@@theamerican7080 yeah don't you know they audit themselves every time and they always find they have done nothing wrong? Civil rights violations human rights violations pshhh what even is that?
@@Maintenance_Mark if dislikes counted.... ALSO When the body camera is made to be on their upper chest and their holding guns the right way, it may obstruct the vision of the camera. Audio and multiple views can give you all the info you need, you don't need to see the position of a single cop specifically when you can see many a bit blurred, smart cops follow the goddamn rules, dumb ones (ones who commit crimes, and should be fucking locked up) don't obstruct their body camera, because their care free. In short they have a good reason and otherwise they might get injured. Most cops do their jobs right and a couple examples shouldn't blur their job and how most think.
@@pipemasterplays THIS IS 2021 ALL COP CARS ARE EQUIPPED WHAT'S WRONG WITH NOT SHOWING THE FOOTAGE? IF THE SUSPECT DID SOMETHING STUPID LETS SEE IT AND IT'S SETTLED
they back up to get out of lethal range. the cruisers have "bulletproof" windshields but up close a bullet can still penetrate the glass, that's why officers are able to shoot through their own windshield from within the vehicle if needed
Why the hell did they all park 5 or 6 feet away versus boxing his car in? He effortlessly drove off thereby removing any tactical containment advantage they briefly had.
It kind of defeats the purpose of wearing a body cam if all it shows is the butt of a rifle. And I know damn well those police cars had dash cams running. Not saying the police did anything wrong, but if you're going to release a video "showing" the public what happened... show what happened.
@@genejeffries2888 The suspect can whip out his 9mm and start shooting at any time (primary concern), but, for your convenience, the officers should first alter their defensive posture so as to make sure their cameras are focused properly and not move at all in order to satisfy viewers? You have got to love people in this comment section that obviously have no idea how police work is. If someone is armed or you may suspect he is armed won’t you also want to be armed? The amount of times these days cops get shot off the jump in a traffic stop is nuts. Cops are demonized nowadays for looking out for the safety of others and themselves. All I ask is if you don’t know police work don’t comment on dumb things it makes you look very ignorant.
100% correct. People need to understand how use of force works. However in many cases officers are not trained properly/as well as they could or should be. Clearly tho if dude has a gun they are a deadly threat. Just like how officers get charged with knives and people are like "wHy DiDnt yEw sHoOT hiM iN TeH LeG" deadly force is deadly force aim high center mass shot till threat is stopped its really not rocket science but people dont have brains.
Ya ya. And if they weren't thought all people are bad and it's ok to shoot first and ask later where they will be slapped on the hand and not pay for there ways this is what they will do.. the chasm between the people that are citizens and the police is only getting bigger and bigger. The police are paid by the taxpayers and when they make a mistake the taxpayers basically pay for that mistake not them. It's time they start paying and that means jail time and restitution or victim restitution like they do to everybody else.
That's not a bad tactic if you are 1 of a handful of cops in a standoff. You can all but guarantee every other cop is going to unload. That way you can just stay out of it and not have to deal with everything that comes after an officer involved shooting. Of course, with this method you would miss out on all the killin' so it isn't for everyone.
That first officer looked like he was flagging his buddy through the entire incident with his pistol. I understand high tension situation and all but firearm safety should still be at the top of your concerns when you could potentially pop a round off at a friendly.
@Paul Phoenix hmm. I disagree with your statement. Not that I've been in the military, but it has been my observation as an outsider that the military overpays for quality items because they are spending tax payer money. A private 1st class is grossly underpaid, but it seems like a quality weapon or gear civilians purchase for good amount of money the US military will pay 4 or 5 times more for it. I could be wrong, I'd like to hear fro vets.
And that got all my OCD senses up... when there's a man in front or to the side, we should point our firearms downwards... But then again, the camera angle is all weird... the pistol might be point at the correct position...
I think he's pointing it right .. the bodycam seems to be on his left shoulder which he's pulling inwards so the camera is more pointing to his face and gun from a weird angle.
Incredible patience exhibited by Officer #2. Never put his finger inside the trigger guard until he had to fire. ONE SHOT. Never went back in either. No way I could do that.
the way that officer is holding his weapon is very alarming. Also the way he is standing behind his fellow officer, sweeping accident waiting to happen.
Giving him self up compliance ist ground s to be shot and what thefuck dose high risk mean kill the suspect inocent until provin guilty not exacute before a hearing but that's what you get I guess in mesa the police are the biggest gang on are streets criminals all of them and for the good one your just as guilty when you stay silent against these murdering bastards
I have no further information about this incident but this is extremely suspicious to only release three body cameras that show absolutely nothing when we know there are more body cameras not to mention the dash cameras that absolutely caught the entire incident. This is extremely suspicious and leads people to believe you are intentionally hiding something. Release all of the dash cam blur it if need be.
Duh, because the cops are racist and want to kill all suspects. Just wait until 1 of your loved ones is killed by a suspect, then you will think differently. COPS ARE HEROES!
Funny how the camera was blocked. I knew a young black kid that told me Mesa cops shot him in the leg because he pulled his phone out on the streets. In this vid we may never know if the guy flinched or sneezed and got shot then it's hey what's going on in there give us a sign buddy as he's bleeding to death or already dead.
The regular people in this city are more vicious and immoral than any criminal I've ever met. I wonder what they'll think about themselves if one day it's them or their kid at the end of a police officer's gun? The worst people on the planet live here. They smile at you in the grocery store.
Dude had no weapons. Article states he was unrecognizable due to multiple gun shots to his face. I support police but in this case they were out of line.
It would be better to have the suspect hold the camera as he's being shot.... that way, we can have a more realistic POV. Not sure why no one has thought of this.
@Rochelle Whitfield criminals hate the cold thus “normal people” hide in the freezing cold and enjoy it, while the “criminals” swelter and cook at the equator
Why don't the police start implementing this: on the sly, putting spike strips between the front and rear tires so if the driver decides to move the car forward or backwards, the spike strip with put holes in the tire.

If you are a cop in the middle of a shootout and you are as (or more) worried about body-cam editing as you are about your physical well-being, you 1) have been improperly trained, or 2) there is a problem between your ears.

First of all before I have even watched. Thank God they are using the body cams in Mesa at all. Most that I see are started late, broken, damaged, footage etc. Now let me watch.
7:50 oh man, that’s rough to see. This officer fumbles with the safety and trigger, and never manages to get a round off. By the time he is able to reel it in, the threat was ended. It was a great job by these officers, of course, but this officer needs more training on that carbine. When split seconds matter, could end up costing a life one day.
