A good dentist is a highly underrated professional. I just barely got my first good dentist and I pray I never lose* his ass. Dude seriously does the lords work and his shots rarely hurt. His fillings stay and I'm just amazed at how he's able to sculpt my teeth back into shape. These people are proficient in so many different things it's crazy. Once you find a good dentist, you hold on and never let go!
I'm Indian and here all dentists are very corrupt. They just want cap on cavities because it makes them more money. They don't do composite filling mostly.
Without the Caries detector I would have stopped cleaning way before you finished 😮 is it really THAT accurate? I don’t want to be hurting healthy teeth 😢
I think about this a lot as well… A lot of studies defend that This is too far, because he’s taking away not only infected dentin, but also affected dentin, which will expose the patient to more likely experience sensibility…
@@tnaextremegamer I have to get a root canal because my original cavity wasn't cleaned out all the way. I'd take the bit of sensitivity to have had it done properly the first time
@@OscarGarcia-kx6xr The reason behind this is possibly a leakage in the restoration that was done, or just an irreversible case of pulp infection (maybe the dentist tried the restoration as a last case scenario)…
@@OscarGarcia-kx6xr a lot of recent studies show us that leaving a small amount of affected dentin is not a problem at all, and will prevent any kind of accidental pulp agression, but a proper marginal sealing needs to be done. Anyways, I’d love to read an update on your case. Please, whenever you read this, tell me a little bit more about your experience!
Nice work. I could see that the caries did go deep and that the pulp chamber was visible. Have you considered using a medicated liner such as Vitrebond in these cases?
This tooth should have had a crown. You can build a whole tooth out of composite, it doesn't mean you should . When this fails down the road it will def lead to rct
Damn, as someone who has had a lot of dental work done, I would be shocked if this tooth didn't require a root canal and crown after this. This filling is so deep that it had to be sensitive to hot and cold, as well as having a toothache. Here in the states, it would cost over 2 grand to repair this tooth properly after a filling this deep. Not knocking the doctor, just speaking from my own experience.
@@DG-EditsYTno your natural tooth is always better than an implant, if it can be saved with RCT and Crown, then it's better than an implant. If it has poor outcome, then yes implant is better.
im studying to become a dental hygienist myself! i find teeth so interesting to work with! your vids teach me more and more every day ❤️❤️❤️ keep up the good work doc!
You don’t need to remove all the infected dentin on pulpal floor. If you cleaned the walls, the case was asymptomatic, you can place your restoration according to latest articles. This will minimize risk of pulp exposure, and the caries will be arrested and die because there’s no nutrients anymore when you seal it.
Pulido tlg si dok at mapapasana all ka na lng tlg. Amazed tlg ako sa kabusisihan mo doc at masasabi kong mahal mo ang mga patients mo dhil pinaganda mopo tlg ang ngipin nila na parang totoo. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐❤
Wow God Bless your soul. You are one of few dentists that actually care about people’s teeth and health. So many dentist out here just want money and it’s in and out when your at the dentist to only come back with more problems.
Wow! I can feel the sensitivity and the sharp light pain by just watching and hearing the dental drill. I've got 12 teeth that needs to be drilled and filled. Having a tooth drilled before filling makes me feel anxious and I hate it. Makes me sweaty the entire time and wish it gets done fast. If only I could skip that part. 😅 Anyways, this entire procedure is so addicting to watch. ❤
That's truly mesmerizing and treat to eyes. I'm a general dentist from India. I've watched almost all of your videos. Thank you Sir for sharing these gems. One question, do you use total etch technique in all your cases? Isn't there a concern of post operative sensitivity with total etch technique?
Salamat sa channel Dr Arkhe and putting your heart to your craft. Sadly for me yung temporary crown ko sa right lateral incisor fell off together with my tooth (root canalled na sya) What’s the best option left po, Wondered if my dentist not skillful enough, your thoughts po
Dr.Arche, you are really a genius Fixing teeth which looks irreparable is just amazing. God bless you. I have lots of damaged teeth and hope someday i could meet you. I am a resident of Germany for the last 32 years but my trust and respect for our doctors and dentist in the Philippines is much more great than here in the west.
You actually made me enjoy dental school, I’ve learned so much from watching your videos more than what the college actually teaches us , thank you so much
@@DrArkhedeLeon respected sir plz give us your precious appointment n treatment for severe dental problems which disturb academic calendar of education of us students
I'm new subsc in this channel. So wonderful all the practice of technic that you showed. I'm really glad to find you. Special cause is not easy at this time to get a real good dentist for saved the tooth. I used to have good one for around 4 decades. Now, they took out away w Endo. It was completely strong, firm, not pain, not symptoms. But my real teeth around was falling down little by little. Dr had been taking months to do this Endo, cause it's big, strong and deeper. Now, I have to get crown. I didn't want it, but I have to. I got not option. Dentist had to save tooth, no destroy, no kill to put artificial one to get more money. Thanks, thanks, thanks 🙏👍
Ang galing nyo talaga doc mag gawa.talagang dedicated kayo sa profession nyo doc .ayan gusto namin dentist maayus gumawa hindi bara bara..sana may malapit na po kayong branch sa along Qc. Tsora
Amazing video both entertaining and educational, I just have one question though why didn’t you choose to make an onlay restoration wouldn’t it be more appropriate for a cavity that big ?
Awesome work doctor, i have question, you used electric 5:1 handpiece still you set the program in electric motor to 1:1 mode, why that ?
The drilling gave me anxietyyyyyyyyy. I could have sworn I felt the sensitivity on my teeth just from watching. The filling tho… is indeed mesmerising.
1 1/2 to 2 h for a composite filling ? May I ask what you charge for this? It usually takes me ca. 2 h to do an all-on-4 case incl. suturing and impression. It`s not bashing, I`m just curious. Wonderful work btw.
@@ivodeguzman2565 sa true lang... okay lang for me to splurge a little kung pulido naman. I will just treat it as an investment. Oral health naman din kasi siya. Question nalang talaga is saan maghanap HAHA
I’m only a few months into the dental world as an assistant but is the dye replacing your need for the slow speed? Also with a filling that size wouldn’t a crown be placed or did the pt want the filling instead?
i sincerely think you make very good looking restorations, but with the how much tooth structure you have removed, I think, adding some sort of liner to prevent sensitivity (because decay was very deep), then build up and crown would probably be an option with better prognosis
I'm loving watching all of these kinds of videos since having the last of my teeth pulled. I admire the artistry of your work but having been on the human end of dental dams, drilling, novacaine wearing off, major infection and general severe angst - I'm so glad my teeth are gone.
EverX Flow actually has a lot of shrinkage stress - even compared to other flowable and composites - it’s advantage is high fracture toughness in thicker increments - it’s sister product EverX posterior has less shrinkage stress and is tougher in thinner increments - this is form both company data and published literature - really enjoy your channel, just want to help. -Steve
@@DrArkhedeLeon My dear friend Marco Carvalho along with Pascal Magne and Taban Milani have a recent paper out showing higher cusp deflection with the Flow vs the regular Posterior, it is free to download - just pubmed search the title: "Shrinkage-induced cuspal deformation and strength of three different short fiber-reinforced composite resins" Honestly I think you used it well here, while it was a large volume, the C-Factor was low and this should last the patient a very long time with such a strong material. Best, Steve
Oh my..its late for me to realize that you're "THE" dr. Steven Schiffenhaus.. thank you so much for this comment.so humble of you to be so kind and open with your comment.. am actually talked to the company and they confirmed everything you said..thank you so much for this.. according to the study they used 50/50 flow and posterior.. would it be better if we use everx 10/90.. 10 for the flow just to fill the gaps that the everx posterior cannot fill completely?. What do you think? Thank you so much Dr. Steven for this very educational comment..
The pink stain sticks to the cavity when they drill that out and no more pink sticks to the tooth usually that's a good indicator that the cavity is gone and now the filling can be placed
With a caries so deep and large I would have just done RCT and restore with a crown. Large resin restorations tend to fail over time. But sometimes patients just don’t have the money to do all that, so this is a good alternative for a while until the patient saves up some money. The dr does have good skills in sculpting anatomy which is in my opinion an art that can be very hard to master.
So this is the restoration from the last root canal that it had start again with cavity? Can this kind be possible to get pull out the tooth instead in the future incase the cavity keeps getting worst because I don't think there will be enough space to keep restoring and keep shaping the edges.
Did not show marker not staining before restoring. What does this mean? Everything was infected upto pulp so decided to leave some layer & not go for root canal?
