Just installed mine today, and im super happy! So glad that the community has a company like meso that takes the time to make parts like this. Toyota should have made it like this from the factory 🤦🏽. And FYI the screws that hold in the air bag are T30 not T25
Just got a 21' Tacoma, I thought that button layout was so stupid and knew their had to be mod or someone who made a kit. Key indicator that a useless engineer behind a desk designed it and never tested it. Thank you, ordered one today!
just got mine installed, no more punching the steering wheel bc I kept pressing NEXT instead of volume up. jk, no punching. But so happy I got this. Also, there was a hiccup with shipping bc I accidentally made 2 orders and one got cancelled. I emailed Meso and they corrected my mistake and sent one out immediately . Great product and customer service

My airbag screws were a T27 on my 2021 TRD Sport, in case anyone is wondering why they aren't coming out....might have to go a size or two bigger lol. Also, I did it all at the steering wheel and didn't need to cut the zip tie. This was an easy install. Forums reporting color being slightly off and not as bright....but it's a worth while trade off in my opinion!
Just finished installing mine in my '21 Nightshade. Just FYI, it is NOT a T25 Torx. The T25 worked, but there was slop in the fitment of the Torx bit to the screw. My guess is it's actually a T30. My Nightshade required the harness adapter which was easy to tuck in behind the trim piece. All that being said, it was a simple install. Quick and easy to do and the buttons function well. This was done at night, so it was hard to tell for certain, but I don't think the new button is quite as shiny as the old one, but maybe it will shine up with some use. Not something I'm worried about though. Thank you for "fixing" this! :D
I have a 2017 Tacoma. The airbag screws on mine are definitely T30’s and they were so tight there was absolutely no way I was going to crack them loose even with a good quality Torx30 screwdriver. I quit trying before I stripped the screw heads which was going to be inevitable. I ended up using a good T30 bit with a 3/8” drive ratchet and extension which broke them loose easily.
My 4 runner has the same steering wheel and its not working properly, the mute and buttons associated with bluetooth do nothing. Also the buttons for radio stations are backwards - left arrow goes forwards and right arrow back, should be other way.
So does this kit replace the lower volume control on the left hand side with a call/end all button? I have a 2016 platinum. And my configuration is completely different.
Thanks for coming out with this cool fix, Meso! During my install, I accidentally broke the white plastic collar that was behind the original volume/skip button… Does anybody know where I can buy a replacement? Even just the correct name for this part could help.
Isn’t it usually advisable to pull the negative connection at the battery before doing major electrical work? No chance of accidentally firing the air bag?
Put mine in and bluetooth buttons did nothing and the board on the other side of the steering controls started smoking...24 4runner trd sport. Thoughts?
Im still waiting for the plug n play harness kit for the Tacomas that have led headlights for the switchback led side mirror you guys sell. You guys were going to produce. Is there a date for that or did you guys decide not to make them. I would like to know so if not i can return my switchback lights.
That project is currently on hold due to not being able to source the factory connectors. Hopefully we can get it up and running by the end of this year.
I installed mine and afterwards a soft sound of plastic rubbing together is now occuring when i turn the steering wheel. I inspected everything and cant figure out how this happened... any ideas?
