Derren spends some time on the London Underground confusing innocent strangers. For more subscribe to our channel - ru-vid.com #DerrenBrown #DerrenBrownMiracle #DerrenBrownShowman
I've seen this clip a couple of times, as it's fascinating. My guess is that this guy takes the train at Charring Cross all the time, so it's his routine. Then you won't forget it suddenly.
Sadly, it turns out that this guy was an actor and part of Darren's crew. He revealed it on a stage show a few years later in 2017. Nevertheless, it does make for good TV and I am sure that if Darren did this for real, it would work 50% of the time. But in this case it was just a fake, an example of what could be done.
I love how he leaves in the ones that don't work. Even in his later stuff, he admits when he's wrong and then explains why it doesn't work on everyone. I'm a life long fan!
@@mdhcccc What are you the police going into everyone comments saying there acting if u new how it worked its not magic its word play its 100s of yrs old read it up get educated
@@honesttroll3463 It could be fake but it very well could be legit because mind control is very real. It's not like it doesn't exist it's just how susceptible the person is and how well the person doing it is at their craft
If you watch this video from 0:24 and ignore the intro from Derren you can understand why this works so well. If you watch purely from that moment on, it appears at first that Derren is literally doing a documentary about the London Underground itself. The first thing he says to the guy is "We're doing a documentary on the Underground", and then a moment later says "Yeah the documentary is about how easily trains... of thought can become confused". Up until that point the guy would literally have thought the documentary was literally about the Underground, so for Derren to take a sudden veer into the realm of abstract metaphor like this will be very confusing. Not only is the sudden change confusing in itself, but Derren actually talks about being confused too, so it's like a double hit. All this makes the guy very suggestible and makes him open to certain commands which Derren drops in right afterwards, "You have a piece of information that you know that you should know and suddenly it's just gone from your mind, like that. Sorry what was the stop you were getting off at?" Another interesting thing to note is that when Derren says "gone from your mind", he moves his hand in front of the guy's face. This then acts as an anchor, he makes the guy associate the hand movement with the phrase "gone from your mind" and the idea of forgetting things. So when he asks the guy what stop he's getting off at, he immediately makes the hand movement again and of course it's gone from his mind before he can even think of it.
When he explained why he was late to his friend I bet he never believed him "Yeah I was on the train and some hypnotist came and hypnotised me and made me forget which stop to get off at so I missed it"
nah it doesnt work on everyone,, as u saw,, one of those he tried just was immune to darens tricks,, the mind is a mysterious place,, no two the same,,some are much stronger than others too
Who in the right mind would tell someone what they're going to do before they do it? Like that scene out of Despicable Me 2, where Gru yells what he's about to do before he does it and ends up failing
YEA IT HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME THEY COULDN`T EVEN HYPONOTHIS ME IM LIKE WTH I WANNA BE HYPNOTIZED ,MY DAD SAID ONLY WEEK MINED PPL ARE SUCSSFUL IN GETTING HYPNOTIZED ,BUT I REALLY WANT DARREN TO DO THAT TO ME
In a way, if you get any emotion from a movie for example, maybe a horror movie that makes you affraid, then you were in a way hipnotized - you belived the story -. So if that happend, if you do get emotion from a movie, then the only reason a hipnotist can't hypnotize you is beacause you just don't focus enough on their story as they try to put you in a trance, much like you would watch a horror movie but your attention/focus/mind would be somewere else. As for "don't want to say all my secrets", you wouldn't, in general under a state of hypnosis you would not do anything that you wouldn't do normally, so your secrets are safe, unless you just want an excuse to reveal them, and blame the hypnosis.
jokerella casper I have a feeling your mind might be “week” enough, you should totally be on one of his shows! Pretty sure he just uses cheap actors for bits like this though.
Adrian did you watch the video?? " under a state of hypnosis you would not do anything that you wouldn't do normally," ?? 1 of the guys forgot to get off then he woke up and said "I'll late.." though before the trans he knew exactly what he wants to do. And your right by joke-rella casper, especially if he laughed on any joke in his life, because that was also a kind of trans result of words..
it was the combination of intimidation which was helped by Derren's confidence and the TV crew as well as being flustered by Derren's hand movements and touching. He also used the phrase "Stop thinking about it now" a ton as well as talking about. Signs and not remembering and stops and the tip of your tongue which all helped to create a mental block.
3:36 kudos to the camera-man who took the opportunity to frame the 'Archway' sign underneath the arch-like window frame, behind the man trying to remember it.
Derren, or whoever uploads this stuff, you should upload full episodes of your stuff. I've been watching you for 20 years, and you are BY FAR the best mentalist I've seen! And for those of you that don't know, he ALWAYS explains how he does it to the audience, that's why he's the best. He never tries to permanently fool his audience, he'll always come clean at the end of each show. Go find his full episodes, every single one of you will agree with me. He's just a really clever dude that's mastered his craft. Oh yeah! And he doest use stooges! Like David Blaine or Dynamo. It's just his mind, doing what it does best. 👍👍👍
As a ‘hypnotist’ this has always been one of my favourite DB segments. Particularly that he includes someone it doesn’t take with in the edit - because this is the reality of hypnosis (in this instance ‘conversational hypnosis)! It is not ‘mind control’ - artful psychological influence, yes. Mind ‘control’, no.
I think a big part of what is going on here, is he waves his hand from the right to the left. to the person he's talking to that forces their vision to look over to their right. As they go to recall the information most people look up when they're trying to recall long-term memory. I think when he forces them to look over to their right it interrupts that part of our brain that goes looking for the information he doesn't write as they're about to answer.
2:20 You can immediately tell that it won't work on this guy: he seems focused, he follows Derren with his eyes, listening to every word - and therefore negating the subtle suggestion that comes from slipping suggestive words into sentences. He also looks very amused, unlike the others, who seemed more spaced-out, who were caught up in Derren's wordplay and gestures.
Hahaha. I do the opposite of this when I’m trying to remember something. Really interesting how he interrupts the mind right at the moment when they might start getting on the right train of thought to remember..
Listen closely to his speech where he subtly embeds the command words “Thinking about it now What stop were you getting of at? Thinking about it now What *stop…* *Thinking about it* now”
The last guy was already late to meet his friend even before Derren. He got an interesting memory, 15 mins of fame and a story to tell his friend; I think that's a win :P
Went to one of his shows where you had to write on a card on the way in the most embarrassing moment in your life, somehow he found out the most cringing ones amongst the crowd and got them to stand and confess to them.
