It's long been said that 50% of all marriages end in divorce though that number is overstated, Either way the stat is likely higher in the world of rock stars. Successful musicians can make it work, In fact we’ve previously highlighted some of the many rock star marriages that stood the test of time. Still there are many factors that make them unlikely partners for wedded bliss. For starters temptation is everywhere, The lure of groupies and the chance to have sex with no strings attached is a difficult siren song to ignore. Even without succumbing to such desires, life on the road can destroy a relationship. If the non rocker is stays at home they’re left wondering what kind of trouble their partner is getting up to without them, If the non rocker comes on tour, they’re suddenly with their partner which in itself can prove disastrous. this is messy Rock stars divorces part 2.

Ringo Starr met his future wife Maureen Cox as the Beatles were becoming a hot commodity in Liverpool’s Cavern Club. The couple began dating in 1962 and married in 1965, in a hastily arranged ceremony after Cox became pregnant with their first child. Through much of Beatlemania, Cox was hidden from the limelight It was good for business if the band appeared single. She reportedly turned a blind eye for years as Starr and his bandmates enjoyed the dalliances that come with being the biggest rock stars on earth. When the Beatles broke up, Starr already had a reputation as a heavy drinker, and he eventually went out of control. By his own account Starr was a drunk, a wife beater and an absent father at the time. Complicating matters further, bandmate George Harrison confessed his love to Maureen around this time, leading the two to have an affair, Starr and Cox divorced in 1975.
Bruce Springsteen and Julianne Phillips.
Bruce Springsteen married Julianne Phillips in 1985, She was 11 years younger and their differences soon became obvious. One evening, while I sat across from my beautiful wife in an upscale Los Angeles eatery, a conversation formed silently inside my head, springsteen wrote in his 2016 memoir Born to Run. Part of me tried to convince myself that she was simply using me to further her career or to get something, Nothing could've been farther from the truth. Springsteen felt a disconnect from his wife, but he also sensed an obvious pull toward bandmate Patti Scialfa. Springsteen added Patti was a musician, was close to my age, had seen me on the road in all of my many guises and viewed me with a knowing eye, I never felt the need to pretend around her. Springsteen divorced Phillips in 1989 and married Scialfa in 1991, Meanwhile Phillips was reportedly awarded 20 million dollars in the divorce settlement.
