Meta Quest 3 Vs PlayStation VR 2, Which VR Headset Should You Buy in 2024? 

I love my psvr 2 but I just played on my friends quest 3 and I was blown away with the clarity. While they have almost the same resolution, the pancake lenses felt awesome. I don’t quite enjoy the peripheral blurryness on the psvr2.

My choice is Quest 3 as a woman and not a huge gamer. I love mixed reality!! ❤️👍🏻

Yeesh. I think i can list around 20 things that Quest 3 does that much better than my PSVR2. This might be helpful for those looking to decide between the two. Don't get me wrong, PSVR2 definitely has a small handful of advantages, but it's a very flawed and compromised headset that will not appeal to the vast majority. IMO, here are the advantages of Quest 3 > Wireless - (Game changer) Portable Premium Charging Dock Ring-less Controllers Controllers are more comfortable, IMO. Headset itself is very comfortable with the optional Silicone Interface. - (PSVR2's hurts my nose, since there's no padding) Super slim front Visor Pancake Lenses Wide sweet spot - (You can just pop it on and you're good to go, no need to fiddle with anything) Pancake clear peripheral Pancake Clarity Higher resolution No OLED Mura No god rays Minimal Glare Much smoother CRT-like motion smoother 60fps reprojection Built in Audio speakers Incredible VR Eco System that makes you feel like you're part of this one big universal collective-like experience. Mixed Reality Feature IPD 'Number' Dial - (You're going in blind with PSVR2, since no IPD numbers pop up) VR Animation apps are incredible. I would of bought the Q3 just for that alone. Far more versatile, since it offers more than just VR gaming. Downsides, compared to PSVR2 > LCD black levels are noticeably lighter Colours aren't as rich and vibrant Controller haptics aren't as good No adpative triggers No headset rumble (I couldn't care less personally) It's PS4+ power can't compete against the PS5 No eye tracking & Foveated Rendering for better game performance. PSVR2 has a few spectacular exclusives like Resident Evil Village & Resident Evil 4 VR Mode that nobody should miss out on. 3rd party indie games like Moss: Book 2 for example, are optimized to look their best graphically speaking. Overall, the PSVR2 is in desperate need of a revision. It doesn't matter how many great exclusives it gets, if the headset itself is tethered to a cable, is bulky, cumbersome, has an awful sweet spot, lacks comfort etc etc. Sony dropped the ball. I'm sure they'll get it right next time, but if there's no VR2 revision we'll have to wait until 2030 for PSVR3 if it even happens, which will be going up against Quest 5.

I own both but here's the thing that makes me like the quest 3 just a little bit better. I can take it anywhere 🤷 work play on breaks anytime anywhere it's ready to go and you can't do that on the psvr2.

Great video and have to agree with your choice. Although PC and Quest owners would disagree it all boils down to what your VR preference is. It’s a shame we don’t have all the features on our favourite ecosystem but then again that would make the price of the VR headset way expensive so compromises have to be met from each company

Bro I’m thinking of trading my psvr2 in for a meta quest 3 because I wish Sony supported it more

I do have a PS5 and a gaming PC but what I did notice is the fact that you can use your meta Quest 3 with your PC what I do wish that the PS VR to had was more exclusive to choose from Fitness games to play

If you don't have a gaming PC then psvr2 is the best choice if you want raw power.

Black level on Quest 3 is terrible bad the , but there are much or apps then on Ps 5

If you have ps5, make sense to buy psvr2, but if you dont have ps5, i said it was not worth it. Quest 3, on the other hand, give you freedom in gaming and apps. The librery is big, you have meta store, pcvr store steam and oculus pc store and sidequest store. Psvr2 is good but has very limited librery, and i can't stand mura and 60fps frame reprojection. Personally, not for me.

I tried both. Psvr2 completely sucks when compared to the metaquest 3.

I've had the PSVR2 since launch and love it to death. But about a month ago I got the Quest 3 and haven't touched PSVR 2 since.

The problem with the psvr2 is those availability of the more immersive games. Quest 3 paired with a pc you can play games such as half life alyx, Asgards wrath 1+2, resident evil mods, re4vr, contractorsVR (codvr) etc. on psvr2 you have games like horizon which have potential but is completely ruined due to the on rails combat. Other Sony offerings have been trash as well with dated 2017 vr game design. Only thing it really has is re games and gt7. Q3+pc >>>>psvr2

I rather quest 3, you can get em for 400 dollars if your luck in second hand marked as good as new. To play ps5 youv to spend 500 dollars +6/0 from the vr. Of course psvr could be more inmersive, but dose it worth it? With quest 3 you can play a lots of games also.

Psvr 2 has more good games but quest has iconic games

Big problem that you didn’t mention, the PSVR2 requires a ps5. So it is double the price including the ps5. The quest 3 doesn’t. Also, if you want better graphics on the quest 3, you can get a gaming computer and connect it for an even better experience. It is not apples to apples. I would prefer access to the steam and oculus stores over the PlayStation store.

Quest 3 is superior in basically every way.

PSVR 2 getting full PC support by Sony coming soon is pretty amazing.

Sony is still making vr experiences like horizon where quest has full AAA made for vr games like Asgards Wrath. Plus you get pcvr games from steam and the oculus store. AW2 is hands down the best vr game ive ever played and if you like vr its a must.

Is there even a comparison? The Q3 is a whole vr ecosystem whereas the psvr2 is an outdated peripheral that has a few compatible games which "kick it" into vr once you've selected the mode. Q3 all day every day. So exciting to see where its heading now the war with Apple begins!

All sony has to do is flood rockstar with money and have them make gta 5 vr.. People would go crazy for that. Also if they could do last of us vr or god of war vr that would also demolish the quest..

QUEST 3 DESTROYS THE PSVR 2 IN GAMES

Until Quest 3 can play Gran Turismo 7 VR or similar PSVR2 wins all day over Quest 3. I haven't even seen PCVR come close to a game that looks as good and runs as smooth as GT7 on my Reverb G2 and Index with a 3080ti. PSVR2 has only been out for 8 months people! How many games have been made exclusively for the Quest 3 again? Quest 3 is using a mobile phone processor and graphics chipset...peeps forget about this and its NEVER brought up when comparing. PS5 is using an optimized gaming desktop with a 3070ti equivalent GPU. PSVR2 is my daily driver right now...literally with GT7 :)
