@doctordoom1337

a lot of people are mentioning that the cord should come out the back of the battery pack instead of the front, but I think that Metabo HPT designed it this way because the battery on the tools you'd actually need this for slides in backwards. On those high battery consumption tools like saws & rotary hammers, the battery usually mounts in reverse, hence the cord will be facing the back.

These are great. I bought three of the battery 18 volt framing nail guns, they will run on the 36 volt batteries too. But im not sure about the adapter working with the 18 volt stuff. We are gearing up to make a run for totally cordless job site. We will be buying the Hitachi 36 volt sliding miter saw also. Again, these multi volt batteries are compatible with all the older Hitachi lithium 18 volt tools. You get 18 volt and double amp hours.

Thanks for the unboxing Vince. My thought is that is it is more for tools that are/will be coming out like circs,table saws etc but they wanted to get it out there. TBH I wish I new they were gonna make one for the Milwaukee saws. I’d like to get the 10” mitre but do not want to be limited to battery only. Most of the time it would be in a shop environment so plug it in and forget about it. I’m sure all brands will have this going forward. Sexy Flexy has it already correct? Can that be used on all 60v max tools?
@renaissancemen1
@renaissancemen1 5 лет назад
Pete Hartnett DeWalt F***** it up. Because we run 120v in our outlets that’s why the mitre saw takes two 60v batteries. All the other Sexxxy Flexxxy are single battery. So their AC/DC adapter only works on the one tool. They said they didn’t do it cause if cost on the table saw. $100 more I heard. Stupid in my opinion. Anyway, that’s why HiKoki need sthat brick transformer to adapt that 36v to 120v for an outlet. Above my pay grade.

REN Man I agree that seems like a missed opportunity on their part. Maybe a revision in the future for the dewalt guys if the hpt version sells good and other companies buy into the idea. Maybe a split version for the flexy that can be used single for drills/etc. and doubled up for the others?

If you think that transformer is large, try carrying around a double or triple outlet 240/110 tranny up ladders - some might say it's a 2 man lift. On site just about everything now is cordless so top quality secondhand corded tools are now really cheap for the hobbyist.... but you have to hump around those bl00dy great transformers

I think the cord is a great option, but this thing needs to be redesigned. They need to make the invertor/transformer much smaller and maybe close to the plug and maybe make it fit into the battery size part of the connector, and make the cord come out the back not the front of the tools. Way to big and awkward. Thumbs down on this good idea.

Nate Baker I agree with the transformer. Don’t understand that size. I feel the adapter should have just been a battery that you could plug the cord into so it would charge while on the tool. Smaller would be nice, but go look up high amp power adaptors on Amazon. They're huge. The transformers, capacitors and stuff that go into it especially to make it reliable and long lasting, are big and produce a lot of heat. I think there's just limitations to how small something like that can be.

The adapter is for large, stationary cordless tools. Your batteries aren't immortal, but they are expensive. If you have a cordless table saw and you're near an outlet, plug it in and save your batteries. Or a miter saw, or large sds drill, or even a grinder. No, you obviously wouldn't use the cord on a drill or impact driver. It's compatible, but that's not what it's for. You'll never get this adapter in a kit except for miter or table saw.
