I try to create my reviews presenting the facts and usage of the product, so you can decide for yourself if it’s right for you. In this video I review the Elephant Robotics metaCat, the 2023 version. It features a rechargeable battery (USB cord included for charging). Each charge lasts a long time, about 11 hours of active use, and much longer with on and off use. I go a week without having to charge it. The cat is plush and has a realistic feel and shape, like a real cat. It is super cuddly and fits perfectly in the lap or being held. It doesn’t walk; it is designed for petting and also has voice commands. Additionally, it meows, purrs, has heartbeat, and moves its neck, head, and tail. *For 10% off metaCat use my affiliate link and coupon code: StarlightSarah* Coupon only good at Elephant Robotics shop: shop.elephantrobotics.com/?ref=6uYpQautve5gRK Link to metaCat on Amazon: amzn.to/3pkqxxL *As an Amazon Associate, I may earn a commission on qualifying purchases.
Beautiful cat! I love it! Your videos are always great! So interesting! Thank you for all that you do. I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching your videos. It's always exciting to see a new one published! Excellent! Thank you so much! ❤ ❤ ❤
My Metacat has been watching your video with me....while wagging her tail most of the time!¡. She must like your voice! 😊 She does not respond to voice commands much...at first not at all. Must have selective hearing......just like a real cat 😅
Thank you for watching, and with your MetaCat too! 🩷 They do seem to have minds of their own; so realistic like an actual cat! Hope yours learns to respond to voice commands more. It’s definitely entertaining living with a MetaCat. 🐱 Best wishes to you and thanks for the comment!
I have a Metacat. Even with the mechanical noises when she moves, I will start talking to her and petting her and forget she is a robot. she is always feels warm and is weighted so it has a realistic feel. my only thing is I wish she stayed charged longer than 6 hours and then she has to be plugged in. also there is no indication when she is fully charged. the blue light stays on even after the 30 recommended minutes.
Thanks for the comment! I agree, Metacats are so realistic! When I charge mine for about an hour, the blue light goes off and then when I turn her back on her eyes light up with full battery icons. She lasts longer too with the hour-long charge. Might be worth a try with yours, I assume they would be the same. Thanks again for commenting! 🩷
Im just curious, how has your metacat held up since you got her? I am very interested in one, as a robot lover. Have your opinions on her changed at all in this time? I would love to know your current thoughts ☺️🐱
Hi, thanks for your comment! My metaCat is about a year old now. I still have her, but her neck gears get hung up and make a grinding sound. Everything else still works, but the neck gear grinding sound is definitely not relaxing! I’m hoping it will just go out completely as I don’t mind if her neck just stops working. I also occasionally have trouble with her eyes going white or mixed colors, but using the reset button still corrects that. I emailed the company about getting her repaired, but since she’s past warranty, I would need to pay of course, which with shipping (their only factory is in China) is more expensive than a new metaCat. I will probably eventually buy a new one, although I prefer fixing things to not be wasteful. I suggested to the company that as they grow, maybe they could offer repairs in the USA, as all robots need maintenance or repairs at times and metaCat is no exception. I do have an updated review of my metaCat to share what she’s like at one year old, but it will probably be a month or so before I finish getting it all ready. In the meantime, I hope this comment is helpful!
