Which he began as a ghost producer alongside Warren G on The Chronic, then he amped it up with the amazing Jus' Doggin' (Above The Rim version), then Dogg Food... All Eyez On Me... he was at his height at the same time as Havoc of Mobb Deep.
Totally true, but Daz had trash bars for a few of those years, albeit he killed alot of good beats too. Let's be real though, numbers never lie, he should have left us with more if he really wanted to be an all-time great. I still bump Daz-My System almost every day, so as a life long fan it pains me to ever be critical of him, but I care enough to be honest and admit he could and should have done so much more be4 he threw in the rap towel.
Dude, ignore the Pac haters. It's a new fad with young kids who don't recognize the impact that man had. He may not be the greatest technical rapper to ever live, but his delivery, flow, voice and most importantly what he SAID was great. It was his INTELLECT, as a human being, that was great. His overall potential was massive. It's a tragedy he died so young. By the way, Dr. Dre, Eminem and Jay-Z will tell you themselves that they don't touch Tupacs legacy and impact. I do think "Ambitions az a Ridah" is a pretty overrated song though. It's purely braggadocious in nature. "How long will they mourn me?" is a much harder hitting song.
I very much disagree. This song is legendary imo. I don't really have much of a problem with rappers stunting. I believe they have every right to do so, hell who wouldn't at that age with that much money/influence. What matters to me is how they stunt. Lyrically it's gotra be clever.
I listened to this album so much, the moment this song ended, i heard the beginning of “All About You” (feat. Nate Dogg) in my head. 😂 Every other city we go~ every other video~~
ZeusesCannons you have to understand the context of the album, fresh out of jail and newly signed, drops a double album with loads of Jams that people still listen to today, first double LP in hip hop, I remember back in the day the amount of air time this album got was insane, pretty much the whole album was on the radio all day, remember this was a time when Nas, Biggie, Jay Z were rapping, in that time this album just fucked up the industry, real hip hop heads know the impact of this album if you weren’t around back then then you probably wouldn’t know
@@hoesmad3450 my opinion on this is look at all eyez on me and the 7 day theory...that was where he was at before he died... His discography would be better than it is now if he was alive just based on how his music was before he died
And Jay Z sold more as well. Pac's biggest selling album in the US "only" sold 5 million, which means a few rappers have albums more popular then any of Pac's albums.
@@Jim2GG album sales really don't mean shit. Eminem is corny and makes corny music for white people. 73% of America is white. 90% of ems fans are white. That's the reason he sold what he did and that's a fact. Most eminem fans don't even listen to hip hop they just listen to eminem.
Even if you don't care for his music, it is crazy to dismiss his legacy. From listening to his music, I think he knew he was going to die. I feel paranoia and fear in many of his songs "I see death around the corner", etc. and the music that came out after his death was bone chilling. He is one of the most important artists from the 1990's. And imo, the most quotable. "I give a holler to my sisters on welfare, Tupac cares, if don't nobody else cares" -2pac
Pac died right as he hit his prime so we cant tell what he would of done in the future but like you said we would never get a Tupac that wasn't him. And that's what made him a genius he never lied to us. from being a fan Tupac since I was 10 he never seemed like rapping was the ceiling almost like this is what he was doing right now because he loves hip-hop and he loves the people; this was a way to reach them to start to empower and create change. then he was going to use it as a jumping board to something else that would help the community. The reason why I love your reactions and your channel is even though sometimes I don't agree with you, you are giving your truthful opinion like it or not. I respect that. I rather have you say hey this is not really up my alley or I didn't like it then you just tell me what I want to hear.
It's completely disrespectful to call 2Pac overrated, his impact is unequivocal. You can't deny his greatness. Also, Pac was bigger than Snoop Dogg when they were both on Death Row & he's certainly bigger than Jay-Z (who was sonned by Big L if y'all didn't know). *All Eyez on Me* was #1 on the charts & so was his lead-single California Love. Thus, Pac was on top of the rap game when he died, no one can deny this.
@@adico3448 Thats dumb they both had both. Pac would always fall back to it more often is all. Big is thanking God for him and his mom being financially secure in different ways all the time, actually humbly stating his fortunate rise as a blessing instead of all him. He did that more often instead of always going back to the political mess that this country was/is. Especially when your start your examination from the point of view of the racially oppressed. Frequency of those themes aside, they both have important messages. Big even talks about rich life flaunting things, while framing and sometimes focusing on living a dream, and actually doing it with a humble undertone while still sounding bad ass. Just admire the genius of these guys
This song man. There is a reason Tyson used to have this as his entrance music, its epic. Daz Dillinger smashed it out the park with the production on this song. He's a legend for that alone, aside from Tha Dogg Pound etc.
Tupac pedestal he's put on is more than the Music more than the lyrics. He wouldn't have been a full time rapper forever . Politics and social injustice fighting for it was in his dna. He died at what 25 and look at the people he reached and the way people looked up to him. If he was alive he would be a leader. I am confident Suge was behind his death but in reality it could have been the government or whoever is behind all the assassinations of leaders in the black community. Look at the list of those who made a difference they have a tendency to end up dead. Tupac was a threat for those who don't want social reform. Whoever that is. I don't know.
Travis Tousant you obviously don’t know a thing about PAC, besides a few songs. The police KNEW years ago who killed PAC, they have a confession from one of the dudes that was in the car.
Pac wrote the lyrics, recorded the verse, mixed the beat, and finished this song in 30 minutes. 30 minutes. What have any of us done in 30 minutes that even comes close to this level of mastery
Bro 2pac was on the Top back at that time. The hype was Huge .... Pac was only 25 when He passed away... Imagine what He couldve done when He was still here..
A little over 20 years ago a friend of mine didn't listen to rap music he was a Rock and Roll guy. He knew I listened to all kinds of music. He wanted to hear some Tupac since I always said he is the greatest rapper of all time. Boom, I hand him All Eyes on Me CD. I wasn't sure what his reaction would be. The rap he had heard before he hated. A week later he rolls up bumping Tupac, I am like WTF, he said I don't like any other rap music, but Tupac is great. He had went out and bought some of his older CD's and was hooked.
I have listened to hip hop since I can remember, love it. Pac is not overrated at all. Which rapper from early 90s can you say his shit still sounds timeless? Yeah we have our nas etc but come on, pac sounds timeless, his muusic still sounds as good as it did when he made it.
I'm a rock guy, and I'm a rap guy as well. AFAIK - there's very few of those, so I was really curious to see this. When you paused to speak about Tupac being potentially overrated because he's dead and all that, then just saying whoever wrote that is an idiot and playing the song. I jumped off my chair. This guy gets it, respect
Abubakr Mohammed Jamal Really good songs but theyre More mainstream and known but death around the corner is a masterpiece of me against the world but if you dig you realise how many top,top songs they guy had
@@ESELOKOTE213 A Hollywood star doesn't mean anything tbh. Anybody can purchase one for $20,000. Why do you think the likes of Katy Perry and P Diddly have one? Talent?
You got to do all of his albums in order They are saved on my channel do you can use those as the links Also you got to check out the other disk of Nate Dogg's album which is also on my channel Lastly can't Deny it by Fabulous featuring Nate Dogg But aside all of that thanks for all the great content...I just can't put it into words how much I love this channel and how it and a few others got me through the passing of my aunt Thanks for everything Dirty
2Pac song 9 million records while he was alive just with All Eyez on me, Nirvana sold what 20-30 million records off just Nevermind and Kurt was still alive. You can't argue that legends are only legendary because they are dead when their art was selling in those quantities when they were alive. This isn't Picasso , they were selling those units while they were alive. They were the poster boys for their genre and commanded that kind of respect from their peers when they were alive. They made top 10 international hits when their genres were mainstream, and opened the floodgates for other people. There's nothing overrated about them, facts don't lie.
The fact that this was the 1st song on his album after being shot and imprisoned is telling. He states very clearly what he is gonna do. He is coming for revenge on Jack the snitch, Puffy, Biggie and anyone else who had anything to do with or had knowledge of the Quad shooting. This song was basically a declaration of war.
Biker Dude. Pac was the highest selling Hip Hop Artist in the World when he was alive. It wouldn't have been a Jay Z if he wouldn't have been killed and he has sold over a 100 million records, and still has the highest selling Rap album of all times in All Eyez on Me.
2pac is the only rap artist who stands a chance at being remembered in 200 years... All others will eventually be forgotten... Eminem, Jay-Z, Drake... ALL other rap artists will slowly fade away into obscurity over the test of time... That being said, Pac may be forgotten too, but he has the highest chance at being remembered... This is why he will always be the GOAT in my book.
Metal Biker Dude, LMFAO that sounds like someone in the credits of a movie that didn't have a big enough role so they just put him down as a Metal Biker Dude
One of the most deadly beats and lyrical onslaughts I've ever heard in Hip Hop history. That's some shit that the likes of Rakim and G Rap would put together
Murderous lyrics equipped with spirits of the thugs before me ...lyrics legendary musical mercenary ..if u listen to Tupac words man had great knowledge people forget he was only 25 smh rest up 🙏🏼💪🏼
Good reaction videos man,jus discovered your channel.2pac shed so many tears is my personal favorite pac song, helped thru the loss of my pops back in 99 I will forever be grateful to pacs music becuz of it.
The album came out in late 1995 IAM born in raised in LA I remember it like it was yesterday people old mom and grandmas liked it . In 2014 it's reported the album his reached diamond status passed platinum. In the first ten months when it was released it sold 100.000.000 copies. Facts
