Two short metal detecting adventures with the Minelab Manticore in the Tasmanian outdoors - one at a beautiful southern beach, and one in the foothills of Hobart! Enjoy!
I almost always wear a good quality pair of Mechanix gloves for hand protection, and long pants for leg protection. Where I’m located, the primary concerns are jack-jumper ants (or inchman ants) and snakes (tiger and copperhead snakes are both venomous). Occasionally I’ll also come across a spider, centipede or scorpion, however most of these are extremely unlikely to bite or sting, and gloves are going to ensure that doesn’t happen.
