Nice video mate, good to see you back out on the fields. I like your cutlery theory, makes sense. I think your lead blob looks like a sea lion 🙂. Happy hunting, Stu.
lol cheers mate, when I got it home I really started thinking, it's just a bit lead overspill from casting something else, but there are features like hair and ribs, the jury however is still out on what animal it was in a former life haha.
In the neighbouring fields we've had coins from a lot of different nations from Scandinavia to the Meditating and everything in between, for instance Mr Miyagis coin in the video turns out to be a French 10 Centimes (Napoleon III bust on coin) 1850s date. I've spoke to the farmer but he has no idea what the history of the area was around Victorian times unfortunately :(
Woohoo! Got myself an XS today. I think the object at 8:34 might be a tine off a tractor-pulled or horse-drawn scarifier? and that first coin-ish item looked like it had a face profile to me.
Thanks for the comment, I still love my XS, great machine but I haven't had a chance to use it as much as I'd like, it gives the bicep a good work out due to it's weight :D
Yup, ID'd it when I got a proper look at it later, but to be honest everything is ID'd erm,, 'incorrectly' in my vids as Aztec, Inca or Ewok anyway lol
Thanks Michael, and well spotted, yes, I had a look at it later and ID'd the eagle and Napoleon III part, He found a 5 Centimes coin 2 days later at the other end of the field.
