@@huskypilot6305 Im with you now mate, l remember how hot it was that's for sure, great area and l found some really sharp nuggets in a small patch not to far away, another area to revisit one day
Thanks Paul, forgive me if l have already replied but l think l hit the wrong button before, good to be back mate, as you probably know it can be a lonely existence out there with no comms, hope you had a great season and l will be checking out some of your uploads asap, cheers NM.
@@TheNuggetMagnet yes it can be lonely but sometimes that's the way I like it and I'm only out there for a couple of days at a time, compared to you though. I'm more of a social hunter but enjoying the time and search. Looking forward to more of your adventures. Cheers, Paul.
And thats what it should be, enjoying the time and surroundings and enjoying the hunt, its a high for me, just thinking about it now l am back makes me pine, ok next comment, lol, cheers Paul, keep on enjoying, NM.
So so glad you're back, it's good to be out there with you again. I have really missed it. Probably the best prospecting vids on the tube. You should show all your digs.
Actually, it's all in the hunt really, whether they be the big chunks or the tiniest, it's the hunt that counts. Even when you dig up rubbish, it turns our guts as much as yours. But the weigh-in at the end of the day kinda evens it all out. But yeah, the hunt is where it's at ....... my opinion :)
Good feedback, l really thought people would be bored with the little ones, l have had this comment earlier and will now start filming them all as of next yr and have already tried to make the hunt a little more interactive as you will soon see, good on you mate, cheers NM.
lts beautiful out there, super quiet and has a feel of its own, there are even small pockets of what looks like ancient vegetation, really glad you enjoyed the vid and l want to get it out there that suggestions in relation to content are welcome, cheers and thanks for watching, NM.
You truly are a blessed man. God is mightily fond of you... Now the just go on back and find all the rest of the blessings God has waiting for you... God's word has give us God's promise "Seek and you will FIND" You sure did prove that promise is true... Rejoyous and be glad for the blessings you find today.... Many more blessings to you my friend... BBE..
@8comet There is always one !!!!, EVERYTHING is in gods plan, Romans 9:15. the last two words man says before he dies is GOD HELP ME, or MUMMY, people like you make me sick, if you don't believe than keep your mouth shut, god is real trust me.
Gidday Peter, l will defineately be out there somewhere and l,m looking at the northern gold fields for next season, l have a fair bit of organising to do first but hopefully can put it together, congrats on your retirement and prospecting is a great way to go, cheers NM.
Absolutely fantastic finds Russle. Eureka Yeee Haaa.👍🤓 Just talked to Jeff Willams and going Gold Prospecting with him on 13/10/18. Told him you said goodday.. He was very happy about it. Cheers Famo59 👍🤓⛏🍺
Kinda like sonar then, l always get excited when l hear those signals cos l know its gold, thanks for the feedback and l am hoping for more suggestions about what people want to see so cheers again, NM.
Thanks back, yes the remote areas are almost like falling off the planet for about 6 months, also the 9000km journey there and back is mainly remote so once again no comms, but sooner or later its back to Pizza, fresh food and internet so cheers for your patience and good to hear from you again, NM.
Thanks again chris, and you are more than welcome, viewers who enjoy my content should know thats its people like yourself that make it possible, your support drives me to do better, l plan on some more editing this weekend so l hope l can continue coming up with the goods, thanks again, Russell.
@@TheNuggetMagnet The effort that you put into recording the dogs and then the editing is alot of work, I enjoy the content and look forward to the next video. I have no gold fields around my area so I live vicariously through your videos.
Good work T.N.M. Nice video. Have ordered a piece of equipment from the states. Waiting in anticipation to do some reviews with it. Will keep you posted on how it works, as in you may be interested. Cheers. Hunted.
@@TheNuggetMagnet Hey there NM.... it will be a game changer....Have a Z7 and SDC 2300. happy with both. But as you know you can miss a piece by inches. This new equipment I was very skeptical at first, but the company has a lot of positive reviews and testimonials. I hounded this company that makes this equipment with emails for a week and the guy responded every time with full information. So I guess you'll never know if you don't give it a go. Am looking at getting a coaster sorted and going travelling once my property has sold. I guess I caught the bug to haha..... Anyway NM appreciate the reply... will let you know once I receive it and I've tested it. Cheers. Hunted.
Thanks David, l really hope l get more suggestions about what other content people would like to see, l am hoping pt 2 will be a little more interactive, cheers NM.
Cheers from Idaho" good to see your on the Gold "AS ALWAYS"! BTW ? that Hawk sure looked like a Peregrine Falcon we have here in the USA, guess what Australia has them as well! Same Bird...jd
Gidday JD, good to hear from you, l wasn,t sure what type of bird it was so cheers for that, l finally caught an eagle on film also which l will upload soon, l found a bit of gold this trip but its starting to thin so l will head further north next season, l found a couple of nice speci,s last year so it all rounds out, always good to hear from you and cheers back from Downunder, NM.
Yesss!! well worth the wait NM!! glad to see you still have the 4500 and not sold out for the 7000!! Do you think for the price tag it would enhance your Detecting experience more though based on the staggering extra cost? compared to being at One((fine tuned and knowledgeable)) with the 4500?(curious) and looking forward to more NM Cheers!
Tough question without having a 7000 on the spot to make those comparisons, again this year l hit sub half grammers at good depth so didn,t feel l missed much, it would be an interesting experiment though, l think for now while the 4500 is performing well and is an extension of me l will stand by it, a new learning curve could potentially detract from my main focus which is creating reasonable content but this is food for thought and exactly the type of comment l encourage, l will keep this in mind and aim to put it to the test next season, cheers NM.
@@TheNuggetMagnet you do really well as you are! Shows that knowing your machine is key to success without extra (minimal) bells and whistles at a hefty cost. Good luck and good on ya NM
Thanks Steve, l enjoy making the vid,s and after 5 months of isolation its good to reconnect with everyone, really glad you enjoyed and thanks again for watching, cheers NM.
No wonder i didn't find a speck of gold on my 2 week trip over to WA at the end of August, it seems to all be in your pocket lol. To be fair of all the pending claims i camped on i hardly found any ground that looked any good. Got my miners right which i thought was $25 a year but is for life now which is good and saw a lot of WA from Norseman all the way up to Leonora. Now i need to learn what to look for besides the obvious and now you're back i'll try and learn a thing or 2 about the land before i do trip No2. Biggest shock of the trip was fuel prices along the way, as high as $1.99ltr which is insane. 2 years of detecting and 5 specks of gold from random panning............ i'm doing something wrong lol 🙃
Gidday, dont be discouraged be determined, but l can understand your frustration, its not just fuel that breaks the bank, if you have shopped over there you will know what l mean, once you find the right areas, possibly from Geomaps, you will find the Green Stone belts that hold the gold, then its patience, persistence and perseverence mixed in with a lot of luck, main thing is the freedom and adventure so hang in there because no-one gets it all, cheers NM.
Thanks for that mate and yes food cost was also a joke especially those road house petrol stops along the Nullarbor. I think paid like $8 at Mudrabilla for a small bag of hot chips and $3.50 for a paddle pop......... I learned quickly to stock food and road snacks rather than stopping for anything but fuel and a toilet once i got to Norseman's IGA. The trip itself was unbelievable and not finding gold while being sad was not reason to call it a wasted trip. Just camping under the stars and seeing what weather was thrown at me was a reward on it's own. I pegged a tent each night, collected dead wood and dug a fire pit, had a small gas stove to boil a cuppa and heat up food and if you were out late August you know how god damn cold it got lol. Anyway it was my first trip to WA and i'm more determined than ever to get back over their now i now what i am in for but in the meantime, i'll watch your videos and grit my teeth here in SA and keep trying to figure out the 3 spots we have here to detect and find that first piece of yellow that's hopefully waiting for me. As for now tho, i will live vicariously thru you and all your success and try and learn a thing or 2 :)
Hey man, from next week i will in Perth, and i saw a shop for rent a metal detector and all other things, i will appreciate if you want my company for a goldtrip :) , im 35 years old Italian man...Mr Magnet, do you want make one excursion togeter? For me will fantastic met new Australian culture with my same hobbyes :))..sorry for my brave English :)
Its a tough game, it can make you question your sanity at times, most places l try take a little more effort to get to and then walking another km or 2 each day helps you to find virgin ground or at least ground a lot less looked at, a person can also walk straight through the middle of a patch without hitting a target which is why l find zig-zagging a bit more effective, but like you say- camping out and getting off the grid for a while is food for the soul, l can only hope something l upload helps you in your search, l will upload again within the week and show exactly what l look for and exactly how l go about it, hope it helps, cheers NM.
Hi Lincoln, those trees are Salmon Gums and do offer shade but like all gums they are prone to dropping limbs, big limbs, so its usually a quick break, lol, hope you enjoyed the vid, cheers NM.
Great video and a nice start for the trip. They say it's when you stop sweating is when you have problems. Speaking of camels, he you tried one of those camel packs for your fluids?
Thanks Stu, glad you enjoyed, really enjoyed your video also at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sPd54C_il9g.html you have an excellent setup, a camel pack, yes mate that thought went through my head many times this trip, it is defineately at the top of the list, cheers on the tip, NM.
Gidday, there are many areas that you can legally detect, "PENDING AREAS" "VACANT CROWN LAND" and you can also purchase a "40e" permit for AUD$25 through the WA Dept of Mines on any "EXPLORATION LEASE", then if you have success you can lodge a claim yourself, l am glad you enjoyed the video and l hope that info helps, cheers NM.
Hello Mr. Hope you well! And thank you for sharing this video, all videos ! Wow that is lucky and lucky beginning of this video! Highly recommend, every night before you sleep, put some Vaseline on your hand & face , very very good for your skin Mr. Sorry for not know your name! Best wishes and with Warmest regards Olivia
Have you done the mods to your 4500, I have a 5000 and was curious if they might work on my machine? What mods are they other than that beautiful coil you use. Impressive.
I haven't done any mods on it at all, l spent a bit of time fine tuning on faint targets and should probably do again now with the new Evolution coil, much better coil again, cheers NM.
lt was very handy in that heat to hit that spot, most targets where out in minutes, doesn,t make great footage but probably just as well, always enjoy your comments Peter and smile when l see your thumbnail, cheers mate, NM.
And whoever gets your diary one day will have a wealth of information in their hands. I too keep a diary, but mine has a lot more strike outs than strikes. lol
lt will be my youngest son, who already has an interest growing, although he seems keener on the opal mining, until l hit that motherlode, fingers crossed, cheers NM.
Gidday Jake, yes it is possible to get to some of the places l go, in a 2WD, probably about 40 to 50 % of places, the roads/tracks are heavily corrugated, some sand in places, washouts, etc however until l get close and have to go offroad to access some tracks l rarely need 4WD, keep in mind l would have more clearance, but this may merely mean a little more walking for you if you can only get so far, but l am only talking a kilometre or two, glad you enjoyed the upload, cheers NM.
Thanks Russ, glad you enjoyed, l spent a bit more time this year with the camera and all going well aim to have a "Go-Pro" attached to the detector for next trip, l really enjoy making them and the positive feedback drives me to improve, cheers and thanks for watching, NM.
I'll be coming to Australia from the US to pick up my next puppy I was wondering what I have to do to find and keep gold while I'm there regulations wise.
Gidday Jeff, you would need a "MINERS RIGHT" from the DMP, AUD$25 for life, they can even show you where to prospect legally, wether there is gold there or not l cant say but you are in with a chance, cheers NM.
Have you done any detecting in the Pilbara as yet? Looking at a Minelabs 5000 used at the moment, had little use. Is $Aus 4200 too much to pay? Thanks in advance!
Lucky initials and l was born on ST Patricks day, so maybe some luck of the lrish? lt is good looking ground and it all converged to one gully containing many small washes leading to the main creek, it really helped in narrowing the search, cheers NM.
Very lucky indeed. Well that does make the search a bit easier. Shame you didn't get the camel chase on camera, that would of been a classic. Looking forward to your next video. It is a 20min escape very much enjoyed
Good to hear, l had another encounter this year but its difficult to film when your flat out running in the opposite direction, however l did manage to film an encounter with a very big snake in 2011, l got the snake on camera but he wasn,t impressed, what followed was SKY,GRASS,SKY,GRASS as l once again bolted, when l get time l will see if l still have it on my old computer, cheers NM.
Awesome video, you certainly found some nice pieces..!! Beautiful country, and I too love the silence with sounds of nature mixed in. Great adventure my friend..!!
Great you enjoyed the vid, the sounds of nature are medicine to the soul, hope you continue to enjoy the adventure and feel free to suggest preferred content, thanks again for watching, cheers NM.
Well done mate, very interesting. I love your work, but not hearing the detector signal makes us miss out on half your experience. If you could find a way to mic up your detector, you'd be even better. FYR: A mate pointed me to Nugget Magnet after I recommended Aussie Gold Hunters (Discovery) to him.
Thanks Stuart, l bought an external speaker for this season and it broke first week, so sorry mate but its headphones again, l have modified the microphone on the camera and hope to sort that issue, cheers to your mate also, NM.
Thanks Geoff, l had a great time, only took off some skin and found my way out, so l reckon l did do well, lol, but seriously l did get a couple more nice nugs for the collection, cheers NM.
Excellent, I did enjoy that video very much! (But I could never understand that why in Australia the "er" at the end of a word is wrongly pronounced "a"?)
It was 39 celcius outside, but my equipment, ie: freezer, deep cycle batteries, inverter etc could not cope with the 60celcius degree heat in the truck and failed, a little too early and keen for my own good, really glad you enjoyed and working on pt 2, cheers NM.
@@dingydate its fairly destroyed, even though it did find gold right up till its last day, l cracked the top plastic housing which will let the weather in, skid plates after yrs also become an issue, so it will join the others, l should mount it on the wall and give it justice.
I enjoy watching your videos, but I would like to point out that when doing videos for the public it's important not to use the heard phones when detecting. We enjoy hearing the sounds of the GPX finding Gold.
So do l but too many complaints, you know what they say, you cant keep everyone happy, however in the high winds this year headphones had to be the way to go, cheers NM.
Can someone help me. I'm right now here out in Kalgoorlie (Western Australia). Do I need a licence to do that or can I just buy a metal detector and go out Bush??
Gidday Charly, you will need to visit the mines dept and purchase a miners right, $25 for life, they will even show you where you can legally go, good luck in your hunt, cheers NM.
@@TheNuggetMagnet thank you so much for these information. l am in Fremantle at the moment and heading to Qld on Tuesday so l wont be near the gold fields until next April, but you should find people in caravan parks that may take you out, sorry l cant be more help at the moment, cheers NM.
Thanks mate, l love the gold and now want to make better vid,s, because even though time consuming l like that others enjoy them so thanks for the positive feedback, cheers NM.
Hi Cindy, l watched one episode so far and will watch more tomorrow, extremely interesting viewing, now l wonder what l have thrown away without even realising, thanks for letting me know, cheers NM.
Cindy Williamson, I'm kind of offended by the mudd fossil guy; seriously, he invokes alchemy and states that the source of the gold is in biblical giants blood vessels that were killed during Noah's flood. There is no science that supports the Christian young earth model. If his hypothesis had any merit he would be fabulously rich and published in scientific journals rather than posting absurd youtube videos. Nothing he has to say has any scientific merit and is certainly not supported by any gold ore deposit geology that I am aware of and I have spent years on it (28 actually). The truth of it is that in most gold deposits, the gold is not even visible and that counts for the vast majority of production.
I do have an email as it happens. Further, nothing I have read in the bible or studied at university (biology and geology) accords with a literal biblical interpretation of what we see around us. Outside of the USA, there just are not that many people who believe the earth is only 6500 years old. Sorry.
Gidday QJ, it does but someone identified it as an Australian Hobby Hawk, what a little beauty, always like your positive comments, thanks and cheers NM.
You can probably deduct a gram off your total after you tooth brush the dirt off them. Why don't you fellas ever add up the hours it took you to find a days haul and then tell us how much an hour you made that day for all your sweat?
That's some pretty good wages then ain't it. The best hourly wage I ever made was when I had my window washing business and I made $77.00 an hour for 13 hours. I had got a low income apartment complex contract. It was a one time deal. Each unit only had two windows and the sliding glass door. I only had to wash the outside of the windows and got $5.00 per unit. I normally averaged 20 to 25 an hour on my regular route and only had to work 3 hours a day 3 times a week. I was building the monthly clientele when I hurt my back playing at the beach and that was the end of that. So now I sit here watching you fellas and only dream of trying it. It will never happen though. Thanks for the reply and don't spend all that gold on beer and sheilas. God bless you and yours..
Thanks NM for sharing your knowledge and experience. Your vids are great learning tools which have benefited many around the world. Is your 4500 an early release and has it had any mods done to it? Regards
Thanks Tony, l have had some great feedback about others taking up the hobby so mission accomplished, my old 4500 which celebrated its 10th birthday this year was around number 2000 made, so yes an original but no mods, just hours of fine tuning in on faint targets to try and get the best out of it, most electronic devices have slight variations so l encourage others to tweak their individual detectors for best performance, you can always push reset and start again if the tuning gets away on you, thanks for the positive feedback and really look forward to suggestions from all regarding preferred content, cheers NM.
@@TheNuggetMagnet Thanks NM for your reply. You have a natural gift for demonstrating detecting with verbal commentary on video. I'm a retired TAFE teacher, some 35 years so I know a quality presentation when I see it. With regards to material content don't change a thing. No matter what you present people will learn. Regards
Thanks again Tony, l have tried to record most things relative to the goldfields themselves, l really enjoy the history and what the early day diggers had to endure, l guess thats why l love finding the relics, old mines etc, l think you are right and except for introducing new material into the vid,s they will remain much the same, cheers for the great feedback, NM.
Gidday Ran, yes anyone can go prospecting here in Australia and all you need to prospect or metal detect is a "Miners Right" which you can obtain through the "Department of Mines and Petroleum" for a sum of "AUD$25, l intend to upload a video showing everyone the process and where you can prospect legally, cheers and hope this helps, NM.
Its pretty well all l do out there, the footage of animals, scenery and points of interest are usually just to break it up for me, most targets are small gold and l thought people might get bored with that but l can throw a few in, cheers again for the feedback, NM.
