Hello Merrill, I believe that the half circle shaped metal thing you pulled out of the ground was an old brake shoe pad from an old car. And then you pulled out some other pieces of a vehicle of some sort, I'm beginning to think that a car may have hit that old tree hard at some time ago? car pieces everywhere.... plus, that's probably why the poor tree looks kind of strange? Wow, the place looks like Bottle Caps City, God bless you for cleaning up that monumental of a metal monster mess? and coins are always nice. At Ah boy Merrill. You're a good man. I dig your show! Signed, Greg the Egg.
Loved this video! I've got a tree near me that reminds me of it.. old spot but nothing but pull tabs, and lots of them. Made me think someone else hit it and cherry picked everything that wasn't a pull tab signal. Now you've got me thinking of going back to clean it out.
Thanks for the shout-out my man. That is one NASTY site right there. Humans never cease to amaze AND disappoint. You did the right thing by cleaning it up and pulling that wheat and silver out. GREAT JOB!
Very interesting I know a picnic spot with great potential that I was fantasizing to make a cleanup of bottle cup first.... definitely i'm going to do that !!!!
This is my wife's account, my name is Ken. You have the best channel on you tube. I've probably said these things before, but if I'm ever in NYC I gotta met you.
Man you are cool....You really encouraged me..I also live in a city with nothing but trash like yours....havent been hunting cause i get nothing but trash..but i see how it works...no trash no treasure..Amen..???
One of my fav vids from you Merrill, great idea. I will try this in my favourite park here in Australia in our winter. Thanks a bunch!! '2 get what others dont get, you must do what others wont do!'
I've thought about it a lot .I want to bring my roll around magnet for the bottle caps I could bring a rack also . The parks I go to it's illegal to have glass bottles but they don't care , man it's worse than your park but that's a good plan buddy plus that up and down is good for the gut 😎
What you think..I have the xp orx and like you I hunt allot I mean allot of trash parks..I get around any electrical interference.. My machine chatter like crazy there only thing to do is change frequency..I really want a 800.. But seen so many post on Shaft breaking.. Coil nip breaking... The new update stinks... What you think
Hey MDNYC, do you document and submit that information on finds to the state in reference to the metal detecting license I applied for years ago? I never renewed it but wondered if you actually followed the protocol or just go out and do your thing? And have you been ever harassed or had your "paperwork" checked by anyone?
@@MetalDetectingNYC lol copy that. Jackson Heights here. I've used my detector at the beach a few times, felt like an ass.. I might dust it off and try again in some old parks. Thanks for the inspiration because I thought it would be next to impossible to detect here with all the false hits.
DMac of Queens that’s the thing! And I’ve been there too! My favorite times to detect are when beaches/parks are empty. Mornings and evenings. Although I’ve gotten a lot more comfortable with it in public. That dorky feeling is what PREVENTS people from detecting. It gets better in time. Start in the summer and HIT IT HARD in the winter!
@@MetalDetectingNYC except for the part on the NYC permit that says no metal detecting within the drip line of a tree, and most importantly the part that doesn't permit metal detecting in ferry point park.
Hey Carolyne I just joined a network called Mediacube. Networks help push Contant out to give creators more exposure. I believe that this is a temporary thing and it should be back online today. I truly appreciate your generosity and patronage! I have been uploading to Metal Detecting NYC consistently since the beginning of 2019 which is almost four years ago (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022). I have uploaded 600 videos and 40% of them get less than 10 views per month. There is clearly something I’m doing wrong or that I can do better so when Mediacube reached out to me I agreed to give it a try. I can’t thank you enough and I appreciate your understanding!
@@MetalDetectingNYC just make sure you include me if you go back to RU-vid, I believe in you love your teaching of metal detectors and your adventures on the beach, in the park and mud larking. Please make sure you start up the membership when you change your strategy .
@@carolynevalaitis7495 Yes of course! I believe that it should start up again today but I am not sure. I will reach out to mediacube. I am extremely grateful and I thank you!
Why you didn't take the trash container close where you were detecting? 😂😂😂 I haven't watched the entire video but I hope you find something good at least a barber 👀
