Metal Digitigrade Stilts - Demo and Brief Explanation

A while back, I posted a couple videos showing the evolution of my wooden digitigrade stilts for a Halo Elite costume idea. That never came to fruition, but I still loved the idea of digitigrade stilts, and really wanted to make a pair that worked a lot better and looked a lot cooler.
I spent my summer making these, and it was a fun process, but little payoff. They were very expensive and difficult to make, and I ended up never using them for my werewolf costume, for which I made them.
If you would like to know more about my stilts or the process of making them, send me a message, I'd be more than happy to help ^^

they would a lot easier to walk in if you added a toe brace, moved your pvc plates to the other side of your upper and lower legs, and had a two phase tendon system, and added a back part of the foot for a bigger walking surface. and if you used rivets in certain places, it might add a bit of simplicity and comfort, and also using a double thick aluminum strut design, rather than a steel design, they would be much lighter. your design is super awesome, but with a couple of adjustments, they could be incredible. if you aren't sure exactly what I mean but my SUPER in depth explanation, feel free to ask.

Hey thanks for the comment man! I am sure they could have been designed much better (and I know of a few things I would definitely do differently next time), but I think I've had my fun with this project. Sounds you have a lot of ideas though, so I would love to see you give it all a try ;)

***** well even google could have been designed better ^_^ theres always room for improvement. but you did a great job, but I saw a few things that could have been better, and I looked at the original plans, and it seems they were totally optimized from the plans, so it wasn't your fault. and as soon as I get some more money, I will be giving it a shot.

@Koovough WolfPup, if you really reeeaaalllyy want to take a stab at building a pair of this style, I linked all the articles and videos that helped me in the description of the video. I was originally planning on making an in-depth overview/tutorial on how to make these, but I decided it just wasn't worth it given the way they turned out. Again, I don't really advise trying to build these for yourself, but if you want to enough, go right on ahead!

Very cool! This is the first video I've found of somebody attempting this difficult stilt design. I was contemplating whether or not it would be worth it to build these, myself... Your insight is very valuable! My first pair of digitigrade stilts was also based on Gryphern's design, and it's probably wise to improve upon that rather than struggling through the building process of these ones. Yours look really great, nonetheless! Who knows; with a few tweaks, they might be more functional. Best of luck!

Greetings from Jackson, GA. Sorry I am so late to the party but? Glad I found your video. First I'd like to say Thank You for all the PDF files. I priced a set/pair of digigrade stilts from a company on the internet. Their product looks/is awesome but? Way out of my budget. Approx.. $4,000 for the stilts, $1,500 shipping (from the UK to the United States) plus tax. So? It looks like I'll be building my own (with your help/design of course) I have local access to Aluminum and Steel, plenty of fastener/hardware stores like Grainger, MSC, McMaster-Carr and Fastenal. Yes a LOT of time has passed by.....Are there any updates, upgrades, new design features/improvements you would share? Please let me know so I can start laying out materials.

I would use this to make some form of cyborg/robot soldier costume, if I wasn't such a procrastinator.
