I recently watched a video of Miku, she was being interviewed on her learning the guitar so late. She had not played a guitar until she formed the band. Since then she now owns 11 high quality guitars. She practices from 3 to 8 hours a day. In another video I saw them practicing blindfolded and laughing and having a great time. This is how they get better and better. It doesn't hurt when they have a great guitarist writing the music and a very talented lyrics writer in Miku. Add the best drummer, bass player and vocalist I have heard in a long, long time and you have Band Maid. Great reaction.
I am very much looking forward to you reacting to "Black Hole" from this album. I don't want to ruin the surprise, but I am 100% confidant you'll love it.
These girls deserve a reward I have been a musician for 30 years but I have not heard such power, applause and I'm waiting for performances when this damn pandemic ends
They've done a couple of streamed performances recently and will probably do more soon! It's obviously not the same, but still a fun time for relatively cheap. If you don't want to set an alarm for 3 AM to watch them, that's okay, because the archives are available for a week afterward for ticketholders.
@@gamezoner3 Their most recent performance's expiration date has already elapsed. I think you can still get the long-term archive of the December 7 okyu-ji that lasts until mid-March here: l-tike.zaiko.io/e/bandmaid1213 Keep an eye on the news section of their website or follow them on Twitter to get alerted to these concerts. That's how I found them. I dunno if there's a way to get notifications from Zaiko, the online streaming venue they use to host their concerts.
I loved this song when I first heard it, and I couldn't help wondering how a MV for it would be like. Well, the MV surpassed my expectations by miles! These ladies are seriously badass rockers! 🤘🤘🤘
This whole album is on a different level that most bands can't reach. It's easily my album of the year and i can say that with ease so early in the year
@@glenkelley6799 😊 good point, but if this negligent maid would finally take her job seriously and clean up the mess on her HD properly as it should be for a maid, we could expect something like a 12 CD limited collectors box next week. I would buy it, but I‘m afraid Mincho isn’t a real maid at all 😅
@reapercometh I only know 5 Bands that are on the Level of Band Maid or were on the Level of Band Maid. 1990 Megadeth, Freak Kitchen. The Aristocrats, and Polyphia. and 1999 Dream Theater.
@@cholatse6745 Only Band Maid Themselves can Top This Album. Nobody else. But i actually dont want them to write more complex music i want them to Stay on this Level since its allready perfect in my opinion.
More like Kanami put Akane through hell! The most cited anecdote from this album is that Kanami asked Akane what her top speed was and proceeded to smash that in composition.
Kanami, with Akane and Misa in tow, is way too good and knows too much about what she's doing to write a bad song. And even if the unimaginable would actually happen, Miku and Saiki would still make it into something good again with their voices. :)
So its me again and gonna upset your playlist perhaps Band Maid released a new song 2 days ago, it has subtitles as all their latest stuff does. It is called " About Us " you can find it on their official youtube channel and I will just post below a dialogue that Saki did before they performed the song for us live online during their latest concert. Here’s a super fan (t-shinji) translation of Saiki’s heartfelt monologue / speech before this song was performed that day: Saiki: We were supposed to meet you today. For the first time in a year, we thought we could meet you all, those of you who could come to see us, but we can’t meet you in the end. I’m sorry. Even though it’s not my fault. We have been having days of turmoil for about a year. In the beginning, we were very surprised because we hadn’t experienced it before, and we had no experience of not being able to meet others in person. We were sad, but we found we shouldn’t be sad in this situation. When I saw you masters and princesses on social media, you were more depressed than us, and we thought that’s terrible. We Band-Maid have been thinking about how to cheer up all of you in the last one year. We truly wanted to meet you at Nippon Budokan, but it’s impossible because of COVID, so let’s wait for the day when we can meet. And in the last one year… or in the COVID pandemic, we have become more eager to cheer you up, and we Band-Maid realized again it’s important to give our songs to you. That’s why we wrote this song for Budokan. We made the album also in the pandemic, so it might have a little similar feel, but this song is planned for Nippon Budokan, and we really want to give it to you masters and princesses now. Budokan is not our goal but just a stepping stone. We will perform at bigger venues, and we promise we will bring you there and give you even better songs, so let’s keep it up a little more. This is our present for you masters and princesses. Please listen to it.
It's been a bit Brian. I was wondering if you checked any of the other songs out from their latest album. It's a mixed bag of greatness that can be a bit hard to swallow for this old rock and roll guy but there's some great stuff. "I Still Seek Revenge" is one. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H0xsEwtKUkQ.html
They have gone and done it again, every time i think I have found my new favourite song, they go and release another one that's even better, can't wait for the next one
"How can one band..." Because they have one genius composing the music, another genius writing the lyrics and initial vocal arrangements, and 3 more more tweaking it before it's done.
If you happen to find the time I'd recommend listening (and maybe reacting?) to "No God" and "H-G-K" from their new album since they are the most "Akane songs" in my opinion which might resonate especially with you being a drummer as well. Quite frankly their last two music video songs were pretty tame compared to a good chunk of the songs on the actual album. That's not a bad thing. I'm just saying the even juicier gems don't have music/performance videos (yet?). Cheers!
Second H-G-K. Akane and Kanami going off. Kanami tweeted that it’s the hardest technical track she’s written till date. Black Hole is its own beast too in terms of sheer speed.
I think it's a toss-up between "Black Hole" and "Giovanni", especially given the latter's opening. They're both my favorite tracks from an album of solid #1s.
You have to listen/react to 'Black Hole' by Band Maid. It's one of their heaviest songs! The song doesn't have an mv tho. I hope you could make a reaction video for it. It's a really good song! The whole new album is a banger!
Well, it´s not easy but if you really want to hear "good songs but well..." must go to their first album "Just Bring It" and some of the mini album "Maid in Japan" Why? because in those albums there´s songs who are not composed by them, but for the record label who thinks that "they can do it better". When they let compose their own themes the quality goes ballistic. Oh, and one little thing about Akane "gorilla" Hirose: She is a real pro at the game of "hengao" (put weird faces) and do it a lot on live performances. The rest of the band try to make Akane laugh and she wins 🤣 In their last concert in pieces like "Play" or "Freedom" she can not only play drums, but also make weird faces and make laugh the rest of the girls And well, they have also Kanami, the composer monster. She composes almost all the themes, in fact she have "a lot more" done. She composes a lot and store the pieces to select the best ones. We can only imagine what she hides in her house. Their last work in on sales from the last week, only in Japan i´m afraid (not sure) but what the hell?... i´m going to order just now
@@chrisbergsten1429 It´s a good album but some of the songs are... well "normal". Not bad but not great. Even so, the first print of "Maid in Japan" is now really expensive to buy in Japan, fortunately there´s a second edition. Never understand why they don´t do more reprints of some records in Japan. Some are really very expensive in the second hand market.
From Japan. Their music gets better with each new song. It's strange. But what's even more strange is that listening to old songs is also good. After all, there are no bad songs. ..
One more MV from Band-Maid this week from their new album and it´s over with new MV´s for some time... It´s sad, i really hope it´s going to be "Black Hole", but i am afraid it will be "Why Why Why". I wanna see the maids in space in this MV 😁
Band Maid has turned into and actual SUPERGROUP. The cool thing is the members rose out of the band itself rather than coming together from other really good bands. They've grown into being that rather than being constructed. You really need to hear NO GOD and I STILL SEEK REVENGE which are also available on RU-vid but have not video. No God would be especially good for you because Akane does the drum intro to the song that's pure power. You'll love it.
Akane is on fire 🔥! Band-Maid rocks! Playing while riding on moving cars, badass! Kanami and Misa are so good! Miku really shining in this! And Saiki, forget it!
That Jag and the Caddy have quite powerful engines. Band-Maid has Akane as their engine. Their despair at her power explains the cars committing suicide.
Hi Bryan. I do agree that the band keep putting out one really good song after another. The "Back office", as I call it, drums and bass, is something else. Other bands should listen 'cause Akane and Misa are so tight and musically talented. I hope they will be able to perform live soon. Not sure if you've covered Unlucky Morpheus, in my opinion on of the best metal bands Japan has to offer. If not please do. Take care.
Great reaction, Bryan. I thought this song was their first real foray into metal as well. They have had some metal-like bits and pieces in songs before, but this entire song was metalish. Thanks and keep the reactions coming.
pls react to nemophila - oiran the live youtube version :) their drummer was 7months pregnant in that video and still was going at the drums :)) the song itself is good too
Love your sincere reactions to this mind-blowing band. And yeah from the solo onward this is goosebump city. That bridge after the solo is so utterly gorgeous.
Hey buddy. The Maidiacs think you abandoned them. There is a great 2fer1 streamed live on their YT channel Manners/Black Hole. Think you'll enjoy it. They also had a cameo in the Netflix movie KATE last month. Stuff is happening. Thank you.
Bryan, you are one of the reactors that accompanied me on this journey with Band Maid.... I really enjoy your enthusiasm, admiration and pride for Akane... That's why I would love it if you could react to BAND-MAID / Manners, BLACK HOLE ( Official Live Video This is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iaf94nNSRGE.html Thanx!!
Dude...I am a drummer and huge Band maid fan. But I can't believe you have not reacted to NEMOPHILA. They are an Allstar line up of the top metal female musicians from Japan. I am not normally a metal fan but these girls have converted me. The two guitarist are considered prodigy's and the drummer (Tamu) is one of the top female drummers in the world !!!!! And wait till you hear their vocalist.....she will blow you away !!!! Start with Revive...then Dissension and my new fav Hypnosis. I know this band will absolutely blow you away !!!!
And now for something completely different lol, Band maid just dropped another video not 3 hrs ago from their new CD LOL ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2MOvCkCqz_U.html Official Video of course. They also willbe live streaming a concert on Feb 11th details are on their official website
It sounds like Japanese Paramore with a metal edge to me. This is only my 3rd song by them though. Gonna check out more if anyone has any suggestions let me know
The entire album is sensory overload. It is actually a tough listen the first few times. You need to listen to it several times and give your brain a chance to process it. I was not liking it the first few times because it is unrelenting. It's compressed to hell so it is a wall of sound BUT the songs are REALLY good. Black Hole will blow your mind with Akane's drums.
Greetings Bryan. Did you have ever thought to "help" us understanding WHAT THE HELL AKANE IS DOING? AND HOW? Serious, her drum play is quite complex and while e.g. Chase Carneson is always amazing explaining the bigger picture in understandable words for non-musicians like me on his channel, I am really interested in somebody who can break down one of their instruments in more detail, Misas bass, Kanamis guitar or, in your case, Akanes drum play. Of course, I don't know how much work this would be for you and, also of course, it is not about to explain every detail in e.g. this song, but maybe just some of her stupid and amazing breaks and fills and drumrolls she IS ALWAYS DOING. Maybe somehting to think about as a unique feature for your channel. For me it would be a case to support your via patreon.
Hi, great reaction ! Do you know the band The Warning ? You should react to them too ! 3 sisters from Mexico who play great rock ! And with a great drummer who is lead singer on some tracks. 3 sisters aged almost 21, 19 and just 16 ! Daniela, guitare and lead sing, Paulina, drums and lead sing, Alejandra, bass and chorus. Powerful trio ! The band has 2 studio albums "XXI Century Blood" and "Queen of The Murder Scene" ! Right now they have just finished recording their third studio album in New Jersey ! They are so talented and charismatic ! Here are 6 suggestions : Dust to Dust Paulina the drummer sings. Dude run buy the last album, it is fucking insane. I still cant believe that ALL the fucking tracks are insanely good yet all different. With "Unseen World" album, Band-Maid just reached my Top1 favorite rock band. Never thought the day would come that a Band would get me even more than all my classics.
Really enjoying your program, Bryan. Would be interesting to catch your reaction to Band-Maid's Daydreaming mv. It's a bit slower but a nice showcase for all their talents. Akane wears her hat, too.
If you want to see a different side of Band Maid check out “Start Over”. Totally different sound but the talent and writing still shines through. Really demonstrates the diversity of styles they’re capable of
