The USB port lets it act as a MIDI device to software on your computer, so you could substitute other sounds.

I just got this for $379 with Prime with free shipping which made it $20 less than the comparable Alesis Mesh kit but like the host said the Donner kit comes with a throne, headphones and a pair of cheap sticks. The headphones aren’t great but they work fine to start out with. The cord needs to be longer though. The throne is pretty standard and what you would get for any other kit nothing special but it does the job of supporting your large ass. I live in an apartment so I needed to have a kit to practice on and using pads and dampeners really wasn’t working well so I got this to practice on. I am very impressed and even more so now after hearing Bryan using a double pedal which is my next purchase for sure. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for an affordable way to practice in an apartment or other place where you have limited space and like the video says it comes with everything you need outta the gate. It’s not the best electronic kit out there and there are a few little bugs I’ll have to figure out but nothing major that can’t be readily addressed and you can have it delivered free to your front door in two days for what you would pay in tax on the Yammies or Roland electronic kits. So for what I needed it is perfect and I’m just blown away and happy that I found this kit.

Do you think this will break easily? I'm not a metal drummer but my last electric kit broke recently. I've been looking for an inexpensive one that won't break on me in the foreseeable future. Edit: the wires going into some of the drums went bad somehow. The connections got messed up (I guess from just me hitting the drums so hard?). I don't know how to find one that wont break so easily like that.

I’m curious, is it possible to change the module for a better one or use a laptop to provide better sounding drum kits that doesn’t peak ?

Great video, but be careful using a felt beater on a mesh bass pad.

How did you set up the double bass? Do you need to buy an extra pedal?

Just asking.... did you try turning the volume down on the Donner head unit to see if the terrible distortion would reduce or go away? Also, have you tried hooking it up as a Midi controller to a computer for better sounds?

Not being funny, but if I connect the foot pedal controller to the snare drum slot, will the foot pedal play like the snare drum? I've only got one arm so I have to play Rick Allen style!

Would it let you assign sounds to mudules? i.e. Would it let you assign a bass sound to the hihat pedal? 🤔

Distorted sound on peaks, is there a way to limit the audio level coming out from the module before amplification.

so there's no way to get rid of this terrible distortion? Jesus christ.. my ears are bleeding.. so the only way to go with this thing is using it wit DAW and e. g. ez drummer?

I know literally 0 about drums (except I wish so badly I could play them lol ) but they sounded pretty good! Do you know what caused it to sound a little distorted in places? In anycase a great review and a decent bit of kit for someone thats just starting out or like you said on a budget.

does it have a china cymbal and splash sample in the drum module?

Is it poosible to do the same on the ded 100?

I want this electric drum kit but I have a question do you have to connect a wire or something to a device for it to sound like a drum or not??

There's a thing they call "Selling Out", but that's NOT "The Case" here..... Herman Li had nothing but good and interesting things to say of the "Donner" Guitar starter-package that he tried - /watch?v=hwztSlWXcfM - ..... Bryan's evaluation is fair and Noteworthy on this Kit, which sounded decent to mine ear as he played, and suits Budgets of Parents that have more than one child who wants 'This&That'..... iHad never heard of 'Donner' until today... iHave never seen nor played a Donner Bass, but iMay order a Leftie Donner Bass, based on today.....

Wow this kit sounds like crap.

Donner are not a professional outfit.. they don't even supply an instruction manual for the drum module and believe me.. it is definitely not intuitive. Information on setting up and using the module is pretty non existent and if I had of known this prior I would not have bought it!

I bought one of those kits , it just arrived today days ago haven’t put it together yet , busy adding roto toms 2 snares to my old set of drums
