The irony about blade wolf’s speech is that it falls right in line with Armstrong’s philosophy. He’s no longer following orders given to him by his programmer or who ever built him, instead he’s making his own directives and goals. He’s fighting and dying for what HE believes in, not someone else. He’s using Armstrong’s own ideas against the man.

I played this game when I was a kid and I loved it, over time I thought that this game was just my imagination because it was so perfect, now 17 years old, it makes me smile to see that it was not in my head and that I was right.
Actually, many polliticians don't write their own speeches and instead just read whatever their party orders them to. They're basically just puppets we enjoy watching and pouring our anger on.
@@summerguy6 this is common among polliticians - someone writes speeches and direct instructions what are they supposed to say and in what they should believe, no matter how stupid this would be.
A really neat thing I noticed in the dialogue. When Jack claims that Armstrong didn't know anything about "the weak" because he had never had to fight just to survive like Jack did, Armstrong doesn't try to refute this claim. In fact, he almost confirms it with his next line of dialogue. "But you did survive! Through sheer force of will! Following your own set of rules. With your own two hands, you took back your life!" In Armstrong's mind, Jack's survival against all the odds confirms his ideology is righteous.
I kind of view it as Armstrong disagreeing. BECAUSE Raiden survived, Raiden isn't weak to him. Raiden carved his own path and took back his life, which makes him strong in armstrong's opinion
Senator Armstrong wasn’t a bad guy in his mind he really thinks what he does is good and that’s shown when he’s helping jack stand up and dusting him off he isn’t a evil person just a bit insane
What can you expect from someone following the absurdist motto of "live life according to your own laws and whims". If all people followed his model the world will become chaotic, like take the most chaotic shit-hole in this world and multiply is by cancer. That's the level of chaos we're talking about.
@@GentlemanQ It's based on the idea of a world that moves in unison according to the will of the strongest who'll lead, based on Armstrong's theme "Collective Consciousness". But yea, its the very concept of authoritative darwinism by proliferating anarchy.
I like how in the beginning of his speech he makes a lot of sense and then he goes full “purge the weak” and then he just drops off the cliff of insanity
I understand that IT HAS TO BEEE THIS WAAAAY, but why couldn't they just talk more and fight less? They a both smart guys. Probably could have figured out a compromise or something.
@@generallogic4153 its hard because that balance between good and evil/strong and weak can flip constantly to the point where theres no room for compromises with either. Armstrong's got ideals but he lacked the foresight.
The best villains are the ones who truly think their actions are good and justified, that’s why we like classical heroes and good written villains. When the villain’s motive for their actions challenges the morality of the hero’s, you know you’re in for a good personal dilemma between who will be your favorite between the two
What makes this final battle special? All. 1) The Epic background music (Violence Breeds Violence). 2) The fantastic Cutscene before the Battle, worthy of a movie. 3) The super difficult and demanding but satisfying battle. 4) A strong, interesting and charismatic final boss. This fight is epic. This game is Epic.
A little thing I liked about the last fight is about Raiden losing Sam’s sword. If you can hear the music more clearly, you could hear the lyrics fading out. And the singing comes back the time Raiden gets his sword back
The little smile Armstrong wearing when Jack said hes wrong about him, he look so happy and innocent, let you know Armstrong is actually not evil, just believes in what he think is right

Okay then, the grapist will fight because he believes grape is right, the k(ill)er will fight because he thinks unaliving is good. @@pianissimo7121 what are you on about? ps1 and snes generation created all genres that exist so far, 2d and 3d. after that it only improved graphics and hardware but didnt create nothing..so much that they just ask for remakes and remasters all.time. resident evil 2 was sooo much more of a game.in 90s than the remake today, it helped create and shape an entire new genre..survivor horror and the remake is just a remake. it also got infected with money dlcs and leftist politics..such a disapointment how low the industry and games have fallen
@@flowrepins6663 but look at games like Stanley parable, hollow knight, nier series, etc. I have never played a game that felt similar to other games till now. Ok i didn't play too many games but there are still so many unique games. If you look outside fps games you will open your eyes. Portal 2 is such a good game too. Ahh i am surprised you feel that way.
Go play it. It’s so good, I remember playing through it about 5 times when it came out. Such a great game. It’s on steam, don’t remember the price but I’m sure it’s not much. Worth to give it a shot :P
i know people dont put this game in the same place as other MGS games, the ones made by kojima and such. but dude... this is actually A LOT MORE REAL THAN THOSE, AND IT GETS TO YOU A LOT MORE EVEN... Armstrong ALONE MAKE THIS GAME AMAZING !!!
Y’all keep in mind that the voice actor of Raiden is the same voice actor who voiced Sheldon from that Nickelodeon show, “My Life As A Teenage Robot.” Let that sink in…
to be fair he's barely in the game besides this final fight, and a small appearance near the middle. he does associate with terrorists that kidnap homeless children, rip their nervous systems off and turn them into cyborg soldiers though, so make no mistake, he's a bad guy.
@@sunsetman22that's not necessarily bad. If those soldiers end up using for something that makes far more good than the bad it is in the first place, then it's a matter of which evil is worse

Armstrong's ideals were more or less lining up with Raiden's, but there was one part that's rather.. twisted. He was planning to rebuild America on a "Survival of the fittest" style, meaning the weak will be picked on and removed from society. Raiden? Well.. It goes without saying that that part didn't really make him happy so it had to end the way it did.
Raiden actually agrees with Armstrongs mindset quite a bit, which is why Armstrong considers him his “successor” in a way. By saying so he admits that Raiden perfected his dream supposedly. Raiden understands that everyone who’s considered weak by Armstrongs definition doesn’t deserve to die.

I'm just sitting here wondering why armstrong is just slowly turning around while being barraged by sword strikes instead of throwing a counter punch. Like dude you have 200% hp why waste a good 20% on turning around slowly?
I'm pretty much sure if he aint flexing that hard all of the player would get hell shoved their asses for fighting this chad (except for those who haven't touch grass in a life time)
@@darkheart._ well Putin started a war for money and territory, hired mercenaries that basically see war as an industry and Russian soldiers fight for something they don't believe in. This war is what Armstrong was against

Yeah because jack basically lives by the methods of armstrong’s ideals, with the only difference being that jack fights for others and not just himself.
This ending is soo good that even though I finished the game myself, this is probably the third time I'm rewatching the whole thing on a different channel.
