Metal Gear Solid: Sniper Wolf Boss Fight (Part 1) 

When I was young I thought I screwed up not getting the sniper rifle earlier. This game was brutal with its boss fights, especially the controller port change for Mantis

This'd be a nice place to remind everyone about the SUPERIOR Voice Acting found in this game, another major contribution made by David Hayter, who envisioned the scope and the potential legacy of this game and used all of his contacts and agenda to make the cast the most professionally possible at that time, a detail many people ignore entirely. Hence why David Hayter was, is and will ever be the one and only Solid Snake.

I remember this scene, and Sniper Wolf's death scene making me actually cry as a kid playing this game for the first time. I'll never forget how god damn good this game was when it first came out.

4:36 I like how Otacon becomes worried and hesitant with his answers as soon as Snake mentions that he's fighting a sniper, foreshadowing the fact that he's attracted to Sniper Wolf.

I REALLY appreciate the inclusion of the Codec conversation with Otacon! Not only it is excellent foreshadowing, but also authentic as to how Solid Snake knew where to find a sniper rifle!

What a friggin soundtrack... Legendary game, legendary story legendary actors and heroes... Think of this... It's 99 or early 2000 Just to listen to the soundtrack with full motion video clips, (after spending 15 hours beating the game) I used to save the game just before the metal gear fight, go through the full metal gear boss, watch Gray fox die, use up all my rations beating metal gear, then liquid snake hand combat, try not to fall of the head of the Rex. Then find out that Meryl died. (cry for a bit) then the jeep fight with liquid again. Then watch the entire last scene with otacon sending them off on the snowmobile and then finally get to listen to the song and watch the polarbears... We had no internet back then, just my PlayStation and all my copied games. Man I miss my childhood... Hats of to all the game designers and production team. Love you all.

Sniper Wolf, The End, Quiet - the sniper duels were always my favorite boss fights in the series, even if they weren't the hardest. There's just something about the dynamic of a long-range game of cat and mouse that feels like stealth action at its finest.

I swear they made this easier in the remastered version! I'm trying this on PSX emulator normal difficulty and as soon as you get her health down to 50% she aims too fast and shots you before you can get her in your sights!

Great game and great times... back in the days that we didn't have a single worry in the world. This reminds me of 1999, when teenage me and the guys spent hours trying to figure out how to beat this boss and how difficult it was to get a clear shot at her because we couldn't keep the PSG-1 steady. We've never heard of diazepam back then, let alone stand that I knew it's purpose; when my friend's mom (a nurse) overheard us talking about it and explained to us that it was a tranquilizer. And we finally understood that we had to use it to keep the rifle steady, our lives became so much easier after we realized that.

The original versions vs the gamecube version of alot of the scenes are kinda better tbh. The ps1 dialogue in the second fight was alot better than gamecube version too. Maybe I'm just wearing nostalgia goggles though

This is one thing I seriously don't get why didn't snakes just grab the sniper rifle in the first place instead of running all the way back to the armory just to grab one couldn't Meryl just hide it somewhere safe so snake can grab the gun in the armory?
