America: "The metal scene is dead." Japan: "Hold my Saki." Fuki, the singer, is one of those artist that hates not having anything to do so she fronts a couple of bands. If you want to see her singing showcased check out her side project Doll$Boxx - Take My Chance. Another Bridear song to check out, Light In The Dark. Some veterans of the Japan metal/hard rock scene Yousei Teikoku. They have been around since the 90's and are still putting out albums, released one two months ago. Check out Astrial Dogma. Wild card pick, Maximum The Hormone. These guys are straight up, Chaos. They literally can not be described, System Of A Down on acid with a RedBull IV, closest you can come to describing them.

Check out "Get Revenge On The Tyrant" & "Knight Of Sword", preferably the live versions. They are incredible live.

To be honest Unlucky Morpheus are really a small band, as they are just a group of friends that like a video game and play music, and come together now and again to play. They have their own record label and self release, for pyhical copies of there stuff you have to go to 1 or 2 shops in Tokyo. Unlucky Morpheus have been caught up in the Babymetal effect, meaning that a lot of people got in to Babymetal, then started to look around to see what esle was in Japan, hence why they started to get popular outside of Japan. All the members are or were in other bands. The leader of the band Shiren had to give up all the other bands he was in due to tenosynovitis of the arm. He has even writen a song so he can play it with 1 finger "KIZASI", which they crowd funded the video for so they could do it in VR. When they play live he some time does not play on the track and Jill on violin takes over his guitar part. The bassest is really a jazz musician and UM is the only metal band he does. Fuki (singer) is just a force of nature, wrapped up in a small bundle of beauty, who never stops working. in 12 vyears she has had over 90 releases, mostly full albums. Fuki (singer) - from loads inc Doll$boxx, Light Bringer + solo. Jinya (guitar) - UNDEAD CORPORATION, Carbonic Acid, Denkare Shiren (guitar)(Growls) - ex- Yousei Teikoku, ex- Denkare Fumiya (drummer) - Galneryus, ex-Thousand Eyes Ogawa Hiroyuki (bass) - TRICK BOX, THE CHARM PARK Jill (Violin) - Rose Noire, Hollow Mellow, Fuki (solo project) They have only played once outside Japan and that was in London at a Japan metal music festival back in October, where I got to see them. They just blew the other bands away, and the others were really good in their own right. If you ever get the chance to see them live GO!!!!! You can see the friendship they have, as it adds something to the performance, they seem more relaxed and really want to play. Hopfully they will have a new album out soon, as Shiren has said he is using the 100 days of lockdown to write a new album. Another song by them you should try is "Angriefer" live. It's one where Jill takes over on violin and is really heavy.

Yes, finally some more reactions of this amazing band! They need more recognition. I see down here that you have gotten some nice requests for UM. Cadaver/Revadac with sheet music music video. Thanks for the great reaction video. Siren, the lead guitarist, was a former baby metal god band. The concept of Baby Metal was "Restoration of Metal", a combination of cute and metal. Nowadays, dance music is the mainstream in the music industry, and while metal music is on the decline, we thought it would be a good idea to "bring back the relevance of metal” We stood up with the aim. Baby Metal is to combine cute and metal, and to attract a group of people who don't know about or are not interested in metal It's a gateway to get in. I set it up to keep the metal industry from dying. If the industry declines, there's no money and no one will become a metal musician. Baby Metal was created with the industry in mind.

UM are amazing, and deserve more recognition outside of Japan. Fuki's voice is incredible. .

Ahh man, I was kind of hoping you were going to roll right into that Bridear video after UM. Another veteran all female Japanese band. Did you recognize the lead singer, Fuki, from Doll$Boxx?

Fantastic choice of band and song. I really recommend checking out some of their live stuff, Get Revenge on the Tyrant or Angreifer both have excellent live performances available on RU-vid. As you mentioned liking the singers voice I'd also suggest checking out some more of her stuff. She has a solo project named after her called Fuki, I'd recommend the track Bloody Rain. She did an excellent collaboration with SYU from GALNERYUS as well, check out their track REASON to hear her going all the way up to a belted A5 (the highest note I'm aware of her singing but she's appeared on so many albums I can't say I know every last thing of hers!). Finally if you fancy seeing her in something that isn't strictly metal I'd suggest checking out the project she collaborated with the band Gacharic Spin on where they call themselves DOLL$BOXX. Their track Take My Chance is an excellent starting point for their fun, funky, poppy, metalish fusion sound. Very different and a little more tongue in cheek than the other more straight laced metal stuff but stunningly good song-writing and singing! She also pushes up into her higher range for a lot of DOLL$BOXX tracks, more soprano range rather than the alto she mostly sticks with in Unlucky Morpheus.

Some of my top song recommendations are Nightwish - Ghost Love Score, Unleash the Archers - Awakening, Sabaton - Angels Calling, and Lord of the Trident - Death Dealer. All of these bands are fantastic and somehow lead me to the Japanese metal scene and I will always highly recommend them for that. A very diverse bunch of bands as well, I will never regret listening to a song by any of them.

American metal is picking up steam in death metal, particularly modern tech and old school death: Vale of Pnath, Hath, Equipoise, Gatecreeper, Warforged, Creeping Death. Check them out!
