15hz Shot / 10hz Bomb. Just a nervous early survival clear; criminally slow Final Target, lots to optimise. Rad game, brought home beautifully! store.playstat...
Thanks! It's probably a bit tougher without ground autofire, which really frees up braintime during target-strafing. OTOH, it's a Time Attack game, so ground-carving firepower just opens up more aggressive n' XTREEM techs. ;3 It seems quite cleverly-designed; you can't sit about milking, since you'll only hit the score ceiling with less time remaining; better to banzai-charge the big targets, reaping a fat timer multiplier. Suiciding to respawn @ 40sec before ending a mission might be viable, but that's easily gotten around by stipulating a No Miss. ^__^ Enemy fire isn't much of a problem, as long as you take advantage of your vertical movement. Ground targets all follow the same process: lock onto your altitude, fire, reload and repeat. Even at high/endgame Rank, their shot frequency isn't too high; as long as you let 'em lock on and fire before diving/rising, you'll be fine. (dive too early, and you'll land smack on the bullet!) Air targets, meanwhile, always meet you at your altitude before firing, making similar juke n' countershot tactics effective. Especially as, while your ground shotbox is quite strict, your air shotbox is nice and "tall;" you can easily nail enemy aircraft not quite at your level, as seen in the Red heli dogfight at 8:28 I constantly vary my altitude to keep clear of their shots; the PS controller is really well-suited to this, with [Lift] on the right stick, movement on dpad, and ground/air fire on L1/R1, respectively. So far, the real menace seems to be those blasted Green zako heli. True to classic Namco form, they and their Red brethren have distinct personalities; Reds like to snoop about your flank throwing potshots. Greens favour kamikaze tactics; this is especially deadly when they're directly below, they'll happily slam blades-first into you. I've had some comically protracted chain-deaths in the final stage, Greens dogpiling from above and below. That was real desperation and anger wiping out that nest of the buggers at 9:14 😎
