11:00 Literally everybody likes that riff, a killer riff.

Gave me shivers when you first heard the Riff! I was waiting for it and it didn’t disappoint.

This song to me is like a sequel to Of Wolf and Man. Love it. I actually appreciate it even more now.

Like someone else in the comments said, you need to watch the official music video for Murder One! This and Murder One are the only songs they haven't played live yet from Hardwired.

I think the closest thing to a “one”, “sanitarium” type of song on hardwired is halo on fire as far as clean verses, heavy chorus and epic outro

This song is great! Its underrated to the album as Eye Of The Beholder to AJFA..

ManUnkind is the only flaw in this album. Whoever said on the Revenge reaction that this was the weakest song, clearly doesn't like riffs ..

One of my favourite Metallica songs. The breakdown riff is so BADASS

I loved this song from the start when I got the album, I tend to enjoy the songs where Metallica hangs back on the tempo a bit, stuff like Sad But True, Devil's Dance etc. "Dirty" is definitely how I would describe this song. Some of Metallica's tracks are very clean & crisp, not this one. And yet, it's able to be "dirty" without feeling "messy".

where this song suffers is where it sits after a glut of mid tempo songs from the first disc... so the energy feels like a bit of a letdown to me after having a few more uptempo tracks. Honestly, not saying the songs shouldn't have been written, but they should have shaved 3 or so tracks from this album, mostly mid tempo songs like this or Dream No More, IMO, and released a single less bloaty disc.

How that riff isn’t mentioned up there with puppets sandman or creeping death is beyond me. It’s so different but it’s SO something you’d expect out of James’ head.

The riff, you know which one I'm talking about haha, sounds like something Gojira would come up with but sludgier and with Hetfield's touch on it

Am I Savage is like Seek and Destroy, spinning Robert, the laugh in the song is similar to Seek and Destroy's.

Hetlfield said THAT riff was his favorite from the album.

The bluesier bits aren't really for me here - I just don't think that's their forte - and I'm 50/50 on the main riff. Otherwise I really love this one. I agree about Death Magnetic. Hardwired is hailed as this amazing return to form and it's as if DM fell into some void somehow. I guess the discourse around it being enveloped in the clipping issue took away too much from the songs themselves. If only the production had strayed from the bone-dry loudness war vibe, it may not have fallen into some weird limbo. The band themselves have even largely abandoned it, which is a shame.
