If you pay his Patreon you can watch the videos while they're Unlisted, that's usually when they're taken down, before most people tend to watch. That also means the people (or person) that reports his videos is a Patreon supporter. Unless it was automatically taken down but his "How to make Nitrogen" videos (old and new) get taken down by reporting.

I don't know, Cody said he doesn't know why he's being targeted because King of Random and many others have similar videos that aren't being taken down. Even his old video that I subbed to him for was "Making Gun Powder from Urine" was taken down and that's been on RU-vid for like 6+ years

I heard of this thing called freedom of information.. Cody's been proponent of it quite some time. Because the value of the gold was so essential on the video, it was kinda weird to then censor one number because of "concern of public jumping the gun". What made those people in Patreon so trustworthy that they wouldn't start hoarding gold from ebay? Buck a month makes you smart? People with access beyond paywall do know what to do and the others don't? Yeah, that was not the Cody's proudest moment. Besides that, i am happy subscriber and will be long into the foreseeable future. // No one is immune to criticism
@lightdark00
@lightdark00 6 лет назад
Alaric Balthi the object, is Cody doesn't seem to be the best at costing out every consumable used. Chemicals and electricity are part of the cost. If he calculated in time, it would probably always be a loss at these low volumes.

@Alaric Balthi: I think the idea is that if a bunch of his patrons jump on a bad investment, it's hurting a lot fewer people than if a few of his subscribers jump on it. (Also, if they have money to be patrons, they're less likely to need a good ROI to get by.)

Next time cast your copper into a open grid/lattice instead of a monolithic copper turd, and you won't have to wait so long for it to react the silver out of solution. :) Also it seems like an air stone or a stir bar would be of use here.
@the_joend8439
@the_joend8439 6 лет назад

Or screw casting altogether and use ezaf to acquire stripped copper wire zero need to remelt and could have hooked up to a DC converted power supply with a zinc cathode/ anode to expedite the entire process and a stir bar/ airstone really would not have helped unless the mix was kept at a constant regulated / elevated temp which would have also expedited the process

Could you do a Titanium refining video? Probably not worth your money or time to do it in practice. But I'll be happy with just an explanation of the process. Just want to know exactly how hard it is. Ti is as abundant as Aluminium, but tougher by weight. The reason it isn't everywhere is because it's so costly to refine.

First you have to extract the titanium from ore with a stream of chlorine gas at high temperatures, then it has to be heated to like 2200 degrees with a reducing metal under an inert atmosphere in a steel reaction vessel and held at that Tempe for a few days until it's done reacting. It's not really something you can do at home.

Hey,Cody I have a Question for a long time : If you double the speed of a bullet it will get 4 times as powerfull. But our gunpowwder is limited to something like 1500m/s. Would it be possible if you use nitroglyzerin or or other high explosives to rech speeds like 2500 m/s or even more ? Not with a regular barrel but maybe with a long cylinder out of steel with a very small calliber hole? I asked that question on reddit, but then it was gone:(
@theCodyReeder
@theCodyReeder 6 лет назад
Nitroglycerin burns just like gunpowder, In-fact its used in some smokeless powder compositions. now if you made a shaped charge and focus the energy of a bunch of detonating high explosives into a metal cone then you can darn near get orbital velocities. and actually If you get the cone to compress some hydrogen and focus that onto a thin piece of metal foil speeds up to the escape velocity of Jupiter (60 km/s) have been obtained.

@Yay-tr2qw 6 лет назад
I didnt know that either ...but is isnt possible to shoot them like a rifle, i thought is would be possible to shoot faster with better explosives. Taofledermaus shoot aluminum balls at very high speeds, but he reached the maximum velocity.
@AdriaanSteenkamp
@AdriaanSteenkamp 6 лет назад
Yay 1 Hi Yay. The answer is, unfortunately not. Most millitary propellants make use of an explosove rather than gunpowder. Smokeless powders are normally based on nitrocellulose (we call them single-base). Medium calibre ammunition will normally use two explosives (hence double-base). Currently the state-of-the-art for large calibre weapons is triple-base (you guessed it - three energetic materials. The muzzle velocities, though are all on the order of a 1000 m/s - the fastest projectile I ever designed was a sub-calibre fragment simulator fired from a 30 mm weapon and it clocked at 2700 m/s. The reason the velocities achievable do not scale with the "potency" of the explosive is that it is not the explosive that is doing the job. What is really happening is that tge energetic material releases lots of gas when ignited. This gas, at high pressure, expands and it is the expansion that drives the projectile. The projectile velocity is limited by the acoustic velocity (how fast sound or a wave can propagate in a gas) in the gas driving the projectile. The acoustic velocity can be calculated from sqrt (gamma×R×T) where gamma is the ratio of the specific heats of the gas, R is the specific gas constant, and T is the flame temperature. It is gamma and R that is killing us, the flame temperature is normally aroind 2500-3000 K for energetic materials...gamma will always be small (close to 1) for very hot gasses and R is the universal gas constant, Ru = 8314 J/kg divided by the molecular mass of the gas. Most explosives when reacted ti completion produce CO2, H2O and various oxides of N - the molecular mass is then also normally in quite a tight band resulting in a R value of close to 300 J/kg. This sucks since the sqrt of 3000 K x 300 J/kg is 948 m/s. For my fast projectile we used a propellant that produces a high gamma and a low molecular mass. This is exactly why we use light gas guns to propel very fast projectiles - the molecular mass of the propellant (hydrogen or helium) is so low we can get very high acoustic velocities.

Hey Cody, you should look up Patrick Adair Designs on RU-vid - he also works with the Waterjet Guys from time to time. He can turn some of those precious metals back into jewellery for you, if you look at his works on his channel they are pretty great.
