Man...I remember the days I used to go down to the local arcade centre with my pockets filled with coins JUST for the metal slug games. I could never beat the alien boss to finish this game but the satisfaction that I could make it that far was more than enough to bring a smile to my face. I wish those days would come back.

if you stop shooting at any point in which there is no penalty for shooting indefinitely, you will inevitably not reach 100% optimal reaction to mobs/hit boxes in the screen of play. Simple min/max logic from the glory days of 80s vert/side shooters

Although it was hardware that was almost inconceivable to get on your desk back then, which made the Arcade games that much more precious than home gaming. Graphicswise, Metal Slug back then can be compared to Rayman Legends today. The details in those games, on scenery and individual animations equally, are incredible.

Haloy There you can take no dmg n that fight, you can get out of the tank, the difficulty set on the game he played seems really low tho, the 3rd boss died with using just one yellow light attack.... lol

Entering or jumping out of the tank gives a couple of seconds of invulnerability, so you can defeat the boss without losing lives or damaging the tank. It seems like he lowered the difficult, because Rootmars's orbs are actually faster than this video shows. In normal and hard difficult is almost mandatory to not damage the tank if you want to dodge the orbs attack.

"oh look it's the ship from MS2/X" "how long is the inside of the ship?" My description for every boss: -Huge hermit tank= annoying if you fight it without slugnoid or slug tank.. -monoeye and their UFO= Their UFO is fine not that hard but the monoeyes are extreme!!! -Jupiter king robot= Extremely hard to dodge rocket attacks+laser and bomb thingy. -sol dae rokker (dragon relic)= Wordless can't do it without getting killed.. Just hate it! -hairbuster ribert plane= normal I guess? -helicopter= Hard to dodge bombing attacks -Rootmars=... IMPOSSIBLE These are just my opinion :P

I deeply regret that I sold my Neo Geo with +20 AES games....for just 5 years ago and they're sooo much more worth today, like 3x to 5x more now! Metal Slug 3 is a such beauty, seriously! They were indeed putting a lot of effort into that pixel art, especially the 2nd boss, so many different frames of animations of the aliens!
