John, just so you know….he was not shading Jimin at all. That was just a very short clip. Prior to that Jimin had been very upset & talking about how he didn’t feel like he knew how to use his voice properly because he didn’t have vocal training. This was years ago. He has had vocal training since then. But back then he used to get upset about it. JK was being genuine not in a oh he needs to improve way but in a I wish he felt more comfortable & confident in his voice way.

JK is an astounding soloist, playing our emotions with his voice. But what I love is that he's also brilliant as a support. He can harmonize with anyone so smoothly that you can hardly tell there's a second voice, matching his color to theirs. It's an underrated skill, to be able to blend with so many other voices and enhance them. It says a lot about him that he puts as much effort into everyone's performance as his own. My favorite thing about the way he sings is his versatility and the way he can always play around with his voice and it is always on point. He’s so humble and just a phenomenal human. Shout out to Yoongi for producing this masterpiece. He is literally a beat master.

Stay alive. It become my favorite JK song after it come out... I love the why it sounds, the way he sings, this choppy parts, Suga did great work to on mood. It was made for webtoon, Suga said that when he work for project outside of BTS stuff, he put himself in mood and what "clients" needs so yeah you feel how good it fits webtoon. He also talked about recording with JK, how JK worked on this song, what parts where harder, how fast he got hang of song, etc. They choose JK as main bc he had the best control of his voice, especially when dancing. I really appropriate that JK didn't lose his inner child, even after years in intustry that is not easy, He so young when started, a lot hard times, and he still have this kid side that we love about him. Was surprised they cut out where suga and rm were talking about jungkook being the most talented person that they’ve ever seen… and then saying that he’s a born vocalist part. Hearing from professionals they work with and the other members themselves have always opened my eyes to different things about each of the members and mean more coming from them imo. To hear the same words coming from all of the members… it cements the idea that they’re conveying… and how valid that it is even more than we see for ourselves. Such an amazing group of young men who constantly promote and build one another up…. It’s so genuine… and I think that’s what hits so different coming from BTS out of all the groups I’ve discovered. There are tons of exceptional groups with amazing vocals, raps and dancing … but I have never seen a group with this level of love for each other.. and partly the “us against the world” mindset they and army had to have… has created a bond that is so unique to them and impossible to replicate. They’re once in a lifetime kind of group… and each member is irreplaceable 💜

Happy Birthday Jungkook! He went live today on Weverse, and the members posted birthday messages yesterday (yesterday was September 1st in Korea). It’s not an anime. Stay Alive is for a WEBTOON. It’s called “7 Fates: Chakho” and it’s amazing! It’s still ongoing but this song was basically released to promote the WEBTOON. They did a collab with BTS, TXT, and Enhypen respectively. The song itself is so powerful! You can thank Suga for that. He produced it and Jungkook’s vocals just make this the perfect masterpiece. And yes the song was written for the plot of the story. The second that we heard this song was being released with Jungkook and Prod Suga we just knew it was going to be amazing

Stay Alive is an OST made by Suga for the webtoon, 7 Fate Chakho. It's an actual webtoon and have 7 BTS boys in it in the story.

Happy birthday Jungkook - although it is the 2nd here in New Zealand 🇳🇿. We all know how talented he is. And his determination, and dedication, to learning how to do something new; even if it's a skill he'll never use again - like pulling a cloth from under bottles. But I love how one minute he's a grown man, the next he seems like a boy (probably because he had to grow up so fast). He's the true definition of a "Man child" - in the best way possible.💜

Thank you for clarifying what JK does as the main vocalist. I knew his adlibs were amazing but didn’t understand how he filled in with harmonies. It reminded me of the time (1974) I went with my uncle to experience creation of a demo in NYC. The young woman he hired did those kinds of 4 part harmonies in one takes. Hearing them all together was breathtaking.

Happy Birthday, Jungkook!! There are so many things to love about JK but the things I love most are his huge kind heart, his smile & laugh that are instant mood boosters, his beautiful comforting voice, his passion & artistry. Stay Alive came out while my father was in the hospital. Everyday I would go to the hospital after work & I would listen to Stay Alive on repeat on my drive to & back home. It brought me so much comfort.

I will never ever forget when I first heard Stay Alive on their webtoon (7Fates: Chakho) on ep.4.... even though I don't understand Korean, the song along with reading the webtoon got me crying. The song tied in with that episode. I was amazed that it got me crying lol. Jungkook's voice always gets to me and hits me in the heart.

There is so much misconception that 'Main Vocal' is subjective, based on opinion, instead of a job title. It's such an eye-opener to see all the responsibilities the job entails. For Jungkook to shoulder all of that from such a young age is so impressive. As far as I know, the trainees are evaluated on their skills and the roles within the group are assigned by the company. There are clips from Burn the Stage where Jungkook talks about just wanting to dance, and not having any idea that he was going to be the main vocalist.

I deeply appreciate that you have spent your entire teen years and now 1/2 of your twenties in an industry that can destroy people and you are still a shining star. You write the most touching songs specifically for Army (Magic Shop, Still With Me, My You etc) that feel like a fiend wrote them for me/us. Suga and JK absolutely knocked it out of the park on this I am obsessed with it still. Suga did the production and lyrics but JK did his own lyric melody lines, as usual. The first person in the video wasn’t Jk it was Tae, and I am hoping that they get enough story to turn it into a while anime the amount of quality they put into this is ridiculous. I can never get over how the members raised him. He was from Busan which is I think 200 miles away so rarely had the time or money to see his family. Jin especially took care of him but super super introverted JK was so shy he didn’t open up till Tae joined and drew him out. But these older teens raising delicate sensitive JK ..l the fact he’s so humble and down to earth says so much about him but also the example he emulated from the other 6. He is their eternal Maeknae a sponge who soaked up all he was exposed to and seeing such passion, creativity, and hard work that’s what he is.

The production of the song really really takes you on a journey that fits the story of the webtoon. Jungkook's vocals and adlibs are heavenly and perfect. Suga produced and did lyrics (along with more songwriters) and JK composed that beautiful melody. You are so right!!! JK is soooo humble and he really doesn't try to over shadow the others although he is center and main. I like that they can all take advice / constructive criticism from each other and accept help from each other without any egos and major drama.

When I listen to BTS I'm not only listening to each of their vocals but to the ebb and flow of music and backing. I am always impressed with Jungkook's backing and adlibs as he is like a kiss of benediction that lifts or wraps around and never overpowers whoever is performing. I definitely see it from time to time where the others ask or look to him and he instinctively knows how to support them vocally. This takes nothing away from their own immense talents of course. Each of the vocal line are not only terrifically good at what they do but they work hard on their craft. I'd love to be Jungkook's ears because he must hear amazing things in his head lol. I enjoy listening to your commentary btw. Not being a musician I appreciate what I learn - instead of wondering "how did he do that???"

Jungkook coproduced “film out” and he said he worked on the melody of the song.. and that he wanted the melody to be his voice. He loves layered harmonies so he def added so many in particular for that song and that’s why there’s so much in that song in the background! The vocal production break down they showed of Magic Shop… is another song that jungkook was the main producer on lol there’s def a lot of that and ad libs in any songs he has anything to do with bc he loves them so much. So cool to see it broken down like that!!

They have a webtoon called 7Fates: Chakho. "Stay Alive" is an OST for the webtoon, specifically chapter 4, which covers RM's character's back story. You were right, the song was written specifically for the webtoon, for that chapter. It's a really good webtoon and I highly recommend it. There are only 14 or 15 chapters so far, so not too difficult to catch up. Short version: There's a seal between our world and the world of shadows. The seal allows the tiger tribe, or Beom, to cross over into Earth one night a year. The year that the story starts, the seal is shattered and the Beom are able to cross over whenever they want. The Beom eat humans and are slaughtering people left and right. To combat the Beom, a very weathy man offers a high bounty for each Beom head. This gives rise to Beom hunters. Chakho is the name of a Beom hunting team and the story is of each of the members and how they meet and become a team. Each of the team members is based on a member of BTS. The weapons of the Chakho are the same color as their mics, so you can tell them apart even if you have no clue who they are. There's an introduction video that gives each character's name and a bit about their skills and history. It also talks a little about their weapons. Also, the animation that you saw in the MV is of scenes from the webtoon, but they aren't actually animated in the webtoon. It's a fantastic story and I hope you decide to read it.
