I love your "black sheep" comment - never thought about it that way before, but it kind of ties in with their whole being stray people out wandering thing, along with their entire fandom! If you haven't watched it already, they released an introduction to the album on Thursday (they do this before every album, and they're always fascinating; as a musician yourself I recommend the intros because they cover their thought processes around each new song. As they discuss each song, you also see who is responsible for lyrics, arrangement and composition, so interesting). If you'd like to watch the one for this new album just search for Stray Kids [INTRO "★★★★★ (5-STAR)"]. They sold more than 5 million physical copies in pre-sales for this album - the mind boggles!
I binged all of your Stray Kids reactions today, which I thoroughly enjoyed!! I just became a Stay a little over two weeks ago. I’m obsessed with them! Also, you gotta check out the MVs for Venom, Freeze and Super Board. All excellent and all unique. If you thought “Case 143” was fun you’re in for a treat with “Super Board”. But who am I kidding? They’re all fantastic!
They are actually doing more than just saying the same word over and over again. They are also doing a wordplay on the words star “byul (별)“, all “byul-ae (별의)“, and odd “byul-na-da (별나다)” in Korean. This album is probably one of if not their best album. It’s a no skip album and I really, highly recommend it. Someone also recommended the album intro to you and I agree. As someone who likes music, I think you would appreciate it.
As a fellow metalhead who is also a STAY, that "breakdown" in the end was sick! I have always wanted more metal elements in Stray kids' songs. Imagine Changbin's or Felix's voice with a djent riff behind it then goes to a catchy prechorus like a polyphia-melody guitar line. Hell yeah! I always enjoy the progressive nature of SKZ's songs. As a guitar player myself, their song ideas inspires me in certain artistic directions I never thought of pursuing. It's fun watching mad music geniuses play with music!
Always thought of them as the "misfits boys" of kpop. They came together as the last of the picks...they were "strays" of the kpop competitions. Hence their beginnings and how they came together. They broke a mold no one ever knew existed.
My opinion: there are many Easter eggs from many of their previous songs/videos like God’s Menu, Thunderous, Maniac, Christmas EveL etc. To me, this song is playing tribute to all of their previous work that got them to where they are now! To me the Octopus is SKZ, with eight legs/members. Each one doing something different or having a different skill set, but having one goal/focus/vision on the future. This video is just SKZ GOLD!!
I love this song so much!! i had goosebumps when I watched it for the first time and I have never gotten goosebumps like that b4! Oh and btw i love all ur reactions ur one of my favorite reactors!💜
Thanks for reaction❤❤ Hope you will check their spectacular's live performance at Paris's Gala des Pièces Jaunes last week. Stray Kids performed their hit songs “S-Class,” “TOPLINE,” and “God’s Menu". #STRAY KIDS EVERYWHERE ALL AROUND THE WORLD YOU MAKE STRAY KIDS STAY
I was looking forward to your reactions to this! They are so unique and “black sheep” of K-pop is accurate😊 there does appear to be marvel references in the videos, hmmm
Thank you for reacting to Stray Kids!! I feel like you would like some of their earlier songs too if you haven't listened to them before now. 😊 Also, me, when he paused it right before the drop towards the end: 😳😳🥲😢
