⚡ 💀 💕 / 🗃 🍬 The music was written for BABYMETAL by Takeshi Ueda of the electronic punk band Mad Capsule Markets, the same guy that wrote 'Gimme Chocolate!!'. Lyrics are by MK-METAL and KxBxMETAL (Mikii Watanabe and Kei Kobayashi, or Koba). Unfortunately, 'Awadama Fever' hasn't been performed since Yui left the group. Please take the fan theory that this song was intended as a "middle finger" to BABYMETAL haters calling them a bubblegum metal group with a healthy dose of skepticism. Their producer Koba has discussed every song on the 'Metal Resistance' album, and that idea hasn't been mentioned in any interview. Also, the song lyrics mention "chewing gum" as often as they mention "bubble gum". : )
Welcome back John and Happy Fox Day🦊🤘🔥 Awadama Fever means "bubblegum fever", this song was created by the same composer who wrote Gimme Chocolate!! and it was intended to release before GC! blew up going viral in 2014 and getting mixed critics overseas including some saying they're doing "bubblegum pop music", so most likely that wasn't the intention of this song, either way is a good song for some fans to think they did this as a way to respond to those. I think they're so respectful and polite and they even said that they take critics from everyone and will try to learn and get better instead of doing a song as a way to give a sort of middle finger to anyone, they will only raise the kitsune up.🦊🤘 Anyway this song sounds heavy and got some riffs and rhythms you probably already heard before on bands such The Prodigy. Since the composer Takeshi Ueda got a punk and digital hardcore background this song got some of those elements. The heavy riff you heard here is probably the same from "The Powerpuff Girls" cartoon show, you know, three girls with super powers just like our girls here. You also missed the rare Kami Band intro to this song at Five Fox Festival 2017 (Red Fox and Silver Fox got that intro), but sadly you won't find that at BMRR, only a live comp around YT, I do like this version either way as well the whole Trilogy Of 2015 live concerts. Yokohama Arena 2015 was one of the live concert in the same venue you saw them performing The One official MV, the trilogy of 2015 is definitely one of my favorites live concerts with the original trio. Song is about traveling with a bubblegum mint flavored time machine to reach your dreams, trippy maybe but like with Gimme Chocolate!! and some others songs are all about just to have fun and party. There's a funny interview with the girls and the western journalist ask them if they ever went on travel with a mint flavored time machine (?) and SuMetal said just "No!" (like "you kidding me?") lmao Enjoy the Legend MM concert, is definitely something unique, although some songs were cut like sometimes they like to do just to be released in a special edition for fans members of The One. Keep enjoying BM songs and see you next time 🦊🤘🧼
F.Y.I. You Need To See The Version With The Kami Band Intro, All The Members Mini Solos Are Incredible And Perfectly Sets Up The Girls Entrance. This Is Like Starting Half Way Through The Song.🦊🦊🦊
I was going to say the same thing, it was such a great intro, right up there with CMIYC, Yava and Kami Band West for Kagerou. I could add Akatsuki at Budokan, but that's more of a middle intro.
Dude make a favor to yourself, never listen to the studio version, keep this performance in your heart. The backing vocals of Yui and Moa are so relevant in this song and their cheerleading just make the crowd crazy . Thannk you . Peace 🦊🤘
Yes, one of my favorite songs. To all the haters out there who called them bubblegum metal, here is everything you hate about them, dialed up to 11. Chew that haters. The song is about magic bubblegum that will take you where you want to go, if you have a dream.
Babymetal Live at Yokohama Arena 2015 is definitely one of their best concert. 2015 is when Babymetal when full independant after Yui and Moa graduate from Sakura Gakuin (the idol group they from) in March 2015. And they were probably extra motivated for this concert because their friends/juniors from Sakura Gakuin was also attending. Definitely one of the best! 🦊🤘
I absolutely agree: Yokohama 2015 is also my favourite BM show!! Setlist was fire, the girls were extra cute (expecially YUI), the costumes were adorable, the Kami Band was On Fire, the set design was really cool, and the last song!!! THere have been a few shows where they did an instrumental intro for Awadama Fever: my favourite one is probably at the Silver Fox Festival
Babymetal has more than 70 songs now, from 2015 and on they started adding songs from the 2nd album. 2018 the 3rd album. There are a lot of songs u haven't heard yet. Tokio Dome is a must.
🤣 Gimme Chocolate 2.0, but about bubble gum, and goes harder and more industrial haha. One of my favs. Now you need to check out the Fox Festival 2017 version with a Kami band Intro! HOWEVER, this is actually the 2nd time you've heard this song 😉. The first time was as in your New Year Fox Festival (Saitama Super Arena) concert reaction, 3rd song of that set. 🦊🤘
Some great cute expressions from them, and i am surprised the audience do not bring the Arena down with their reaction to the song. I would be going nuts as well, such a great fun song 🤣🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Fans theorize that this was a response to critics describing BM as "bubble gum" music ie its the cutest middle finger ever. It's high on my BM favourites list because of the surreal lyrics, fantastic riff, and the dancing. I also agree that Yokahama 2015 was one of their best concerts when everyone was on top form.
Great reaction, thanks! "Awadama Fever" is sometimes considered the "Gimme Chocolate" of the Metal Resistance album and it's not been performed since August 2017. And... thanks to your reaction I need it back. 🤣
Imo their best concert is metal galaxy day 2, closing with the trilogy of lights and IDZ with the two kami bands and all the avengers on stage❤ You should react to that show
This is the funnest, happiest, and most J-Popish of any Babymetal songs. This song addressed & trolls the critcs of Babymetal early on who called them as Bubble Gum Pop by going extremely into J-Pop. Awadama is a Japanese brand of gum & candy. This has to be the only metal song ever about chewing bubble gum. Btw #itsacult 😁
Babymetal and food in their songs... We had chocolate, we got Papayas, and for this we got Mint Flavoured Time traveling bubble gum.... I am so hoping their next official album has another food song. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤘🦊🤘
