If you really liked Cesar’s vulnerability, you should check out their cover of I Can’t Make You Love Me. Cesar requested it, so Geoff arranged it and they selected EJ Cardona to fill in the guest artist spot. There’s no beatboxing in it so Layne is actually singing for a change (hooray). EJ is a member of Voctave, another highly rated a cappella group and is Omar’s brother. Omar has appeared with Voiceplay a number of times (and is roommate to Cesar.) EJ has performed one other time with VoicePlay in Go the Distance from the Disney movie Hercules. A lot of people say that that was their saddest song but I think this one has probably replaced it. Every time Cesar’s voice breaks on the word “cry” my eyes well up and it’s downhill from there 😭.
The mirror was a genius idea. So often what we see in ourselves is fueled by our fears and insecurities and this introspective feel is perfect for this song. Cesar and those puppy eyes made me cry. Eli's arrangement was beautiful and I've been waiting for him to do a new one since Eleanor Rigby.
You’re my favorite reactor due to your Positivity! I thought Anthony Gargiula’s singing was outstanding in this, he’s really blossoming; and Eli of course is always wonderful. And Cesar is revealing more sides to himself, he was great in this. I just adore the VP version!
Geoff's lowest recorded note is a B0 subharmonic in their covers of the "Halo" theme and "Valhalla Calling", and an A0 growl in their cover of "Enemy".
I am old, did not know the song, did not know anything from Radiohead, except Geoff's solo cover of High and Dry. With Voiceplay, it does not matter. They can do a song that makes me cringe (The Chipmunk Song) or that I've never heard of and make me love it. Most of their arrangements are done by Geoff or Layne, but this one is all Eli all the time. He did their arrangement of Eleanor Rigby three years ago after a founding member (1997) left them. He had already done the arrangement, then had to decide whether to bring in a collaborator - no, because they didn't want to replace Earl, or change the arrangement. They did neither, Eli sang both tenor parts. I hope we don't have to wait another three years for Eli's next arrangement!
This so phenomenally fantastic!! These guys can do anything and turn it into gold. Had to grab me a box of tissues for this one. Cesar killed it with his emotions, Eli did amazing with this arrangement. I have no words. I mean They all put so many emotions into this song. I was crying through most of it. It is already on my playlist! Great reaction!!
I enjoyed this so much! I knew you would “get them”, they are so special. I think Eli arranged and did the lighting on this one. Seeing Caesar in a bigger role was perfect, he did present a fragile voice which was beautiful. Thank you John, as always I love watching your reactions!

I agree with you on so many things. 😁 VP is also my favourite a cappella group. I also think, this is a masterpiece and I also already loved the original Radiohead song. Geoff's lowest note is A0 (this may be outdated info since someone said he hit a G0 in a growl like the A0), B0 in subharmonic, F#1 in full chest voice, A5 in falsetto (Elvira live and on stage, again this may be outdated). To me, this is stunningly beautiful and heartrending. It takes me back to school days when kids were wickedly good at knifing you with words that made you feel so small and insignificant. VoicePlay is at the top of their game and have been for the last year or two. I listen to Home Free, Pentatonix, Voctave (got to see the in Tallahassee in Jan this year) and they are all really excellent but I don't think there is any group out there that can hold a candle to them. He actually hit a Bb5 in voiceplay’s mini cover of peaches. Also I’m pretty sure he has an F1 chest and then a few E1 chests that are questionably countable.
Not quite sure what Geoff got down to in this cover, but I know he's done a C1 in the Elvis cover of Way Down, a couple of B0s in their Halo cover and touched on an A0 at the end of their cover of Imagine Dragon's Enemy.
I'M IN THE CREDITS! Ahem. Sorry, I only just managed to get into a situation where I could join that level of patronage for them and this is the first one my name is in. I'll be honest, I've never liked this song. Sorry, I just never have. When I saw that this was going to be the first one with my name on, I was bummed. But they what they did with it... Eli's arrangement is so dynamic, taking you through a whole emotional journey. And Cesar has been taking things to a whole new level it in the last couple of videos. I knew this song, of course, but honestly I've never liked it. But this.. I FELT this. Something about just how deeply emotional the performance is makes the lyrics tattoo them onto your soul.
Check out Haley Reinhart and Post Modern Jukebox singing Creep in a totally reimagined vintage jazz style. It is another amazing interpretation by a phenomenally underrated singer who chose to stay independent and thus gets no radio or tv airtime,but gets to stay on control of her career. You won't be disappointed!
it is a great cover , there iss just one i like more because the voice fits more i my opinion thats from a guy that sings with ranndom guys and girls on the streets. if you search for greg creep you should find it i like that version very much. this here is 2nd place but it was a close one :D
Five incredibly special guys who probably don't know it. Geoff famously feels too slender, Eli is short, Anthony has less than conventional good looks, Cesar is gay and had a friend shot in a gay club, I can't imagine what Layne might feel insecure about but no doubt there's something. We all do feel that way at times. And here they scream it out for the world to hear. Fabuilous. The mirrors were Geoff's idea, the rest was Eli.
