Такая поза - естественна для восточных народов. Там даже люди преклонного возраста чувствуют себя свободно и расслабленно в этой позе. Для европейцев - это что- то необычное, а Димаш - сын своего народа, хранящий и почитающий обычаи предков.

Казахи кочевой народ.Сидеть в такой позе было естественно.Наши жырау и музыканты пели и играли в этой позе.С приходом в обиход высоких столов и стульев современные городские казахи теряют это.

To sit cross legged is no big deal. But to sing in that position is not easy. Has to do with position of the diaphragm. Dimash however is built for it. He has a long torso and straight back. Still...its amazing. @@user-cv2eq5ue8b

Джон, название горы- Самалтау. И где- то в предгорье молодой солдат ( казах) с тоской и скорбью прощается с родными и близкими, поет о тяжелой участи , прощается с близкими. Природа вызывает щемящее чувства трагедии: вой Волков, тявканье собак , завывание ветра… Звуки природы передает кобыз. Это старинный казахский музыкальный инструмент. Ты внимательно всматривался и вслушивался в звучание этого инструмента. Вся песня пронизана скорбью и печалью , и Димаш передает эти чувства прекрасно! С приветом из Америки ( Калифорния)

I read a bit about the 1916 revolt against the Russian Tzar conscription of men on countries in this region. It is extremely sad. Many countries and men have been forced o fight for colonial powers. I'm sure these counties, including my own, all have their Samaltou. But no Dimash to sing it so we all make do.

One of my favourites. The instruments at the beginning reminding us of the sounds of the animals, wind through the trees, babbling streams etc in the mountains. It is very emotive and of course a sad tale of young people being conscripted and sent to Russia to fight (and generally die) in the first world war.

This was still during some of the COVID stuff so this was recorded live to be shown at the Tokyo Jazz festival in 2020. I get chills from head to toe every time he sings the first three notes no matter how many times I've seen this.

This is my all time favorite, I like the simplicity of it. Dimash just telling the story, every time I listen to this song it brings me on the top of the mountain looking at the valley, with flowing rivers , beautiful wild flowers , eagles soaring the blue sky.

Well stated and important info given. Yes he is passionate about his people and homeland. Knowledge about why gives context and the song takes on an even deeper level. Esta hermosa presentación se realizó justo en medio de la pandemia y fue como un remanso de paz entre tanto sufrimiento. Loved your reaction, John. This is one of many of Dimash’s beloved Kazakh songs. So heart breaking and full of emotions. The event of 1916 when young Kazakh soldiers were forced to fight a war far from home. Dimash is a very proud Kazakh and very passionate about their independence. In this video, he brought us into his studio to see and hear him sing so intimately. It’s so awesome.

This was during COVID and he taped the song into the concert in Japan. He had to show it was authentic. He just shines when he sings songs from his country - such respect and love

The kobyz at the beginning sets the scene for this Kazakh folk song, which is about the time when young men were called up to fortify their land during the first World War. The instrument, for me at least, calls up the howling of the wolves in the mountains and later, the eagles. The flute and rainstick recreate the wind and streams of that place. Dimash embodies the emotions of the young soldier who has been torn from home and family and all that he loves, finding himself bereft in a world he could never have imagined, directionless and alone. We should probably remember that it is Dimash who arranges almost all of his performances, so in addition to his stunning vocals, the instrumental arrangement is no doubt his work, too. It's a masterpiece like his performance of Ikanaide, also for the 2020 Tokyo Jazz Festival.

I don't know how to put it into words but when Dimash sings songs of his homeland there is an added dimension to his voice. His heart is full. When he speaks of Kazakhstan he gives full credit, thanks and admiration to the ancestors who through immense difficulty saved their language, culture and precious land.

It's not just the fact of his great voice or the musical instruments, for me it's the fact that he sings about in depth things...... It's not just love songs etc, but songs that have such a deep powerful meaning and they tough my heart. Who else do we know of who sings about such things, and with such a passion and knowledge. Finally someone else who really likes the China performance as much as (or for me, slightly better than) this one. Although I love this version very much, the 2019 version has some impressive differences, including the spectacular fairy tale like stage setting and the low B2 note at the end. The other versions end on a higher note.

Dicen que para Dimash esta es una de las canciones más difíciles de cantar ya que expresa siglos de sometimiento y de sufrimiento de su pueblo al que él ama con todo su corazón. I also love the performance in the digital concert. Again, sitting, and the special effects added giving the effect of the turmoil of war. Wish Dimash sang this at concerts. Maybe it is too emotional as it is about young men being torn from their families to fight in a war in another land.

Has de saber que una vez le preguntaron a Dimash cuál era la canción que más le costaba cantar, y dijo que Samaltau, por todo lo que representa y le recuerda y conmueve, pues es la triste historia que tico vivir en antiguos tiempos a su pueblo. Y la verdad la canta con un tremendo sentimiento, es hermosa y lo hace de hermosa nanera6, genial. Es maravilloso nuestro bello príncipe kasajo. Y entendemos muy bien lo que debe sentir, el es un digno patriota, y lleva muy arraigada la historia de su país, sus costumbres y valores. Él es genial, un gran chico, un gran Kasajo. Y ese hermosísimo instrumento, el kobyz, que suena sublime, y debe ser difícil de tocar, con solo 2 cuerdas y tocadas al aire, suena fabuloso. A este chico Dimash lo ha elogiaso, por su gran habilidad, aparte que es su amigo y de su equipo. Por eso y más, seguimos , apoyamos y admiramos a Dimash. Pura vida 🇨🇷❤️🇰🇿

There is so much creativity in this musical piece and in the way the video was filmed. It's one of my favorites. He's so into it, the intensity with which he conveys what his native land means to him is absolutely incredible and the instrumentation adds a spiritual touch. Dimash earlier this year announced that he was releasing a new album, its an album of Kazakh folk songs, just like this one. I cant wait. Apparently its been held up while Dimash chooses which songs will go into it. The normal "S👀N" is the time frame but we Dears have been expecting this album for a few years now, since he asked us if its something we would be interested in. I just want S👀N to hurry up ❤

Of course, I loved Dimash's performance and the Kazakh instruments. But the thing that really got me was his ability to sit in a lotus position on what appeared to be a small piano bench without once squirming!
