Yoongi reused the hook in Snooze..thats where you first heard it.. . Watching this back to back with your reaction to The Last and I am crying..So Far Away is my ultimate favorite Yoongi solo because of how relatable it is..I was never really depressed or anything but I have that feeling of not really living, just existing, feeling of I don't really have goals or dreams to pursue, just living day to day trying to survive...I can't stop crying 😭😭😭
Too relatable. 🥺 I can't help but wonder how many people actually feel that way if they're totally honest with themselves. Wow, what a depressing thought! 😅 Anyway, you're always welcome to reach out if it goes downhill because I've travelled that road too and came back, with the help of BTS and other ARMYs in fact. All the best to you, my purple family member. 💜🥰💜
Sometimes tears are good and healthy and I hope yours are those 💜 You're not alone. I know I find a lot of comfort in that, and in this ridiculously huge purple family. Take care of yourself, okay? Borahae 💜
It had been a little while since I listened to this song, and to be completely honest, it hit me much harder now than it did before…between this and the song “I Hated Myself” by Epik High…I have been feeling these ways deeply lately…
This is one of my favourite solos of his it's just so good, and just really calming. It's like a safe blanket. The "original"/main version of this song is featured with a singer called Suran, she has a really amazing voice and that version is also really amazing you should definitely check it out!
@@DestructiveMediaYTOriginal is the best because Yoongi chose Suran's voice for this song. Suran is an R&B singer-songwriter. And cancer survivor. Suga produced her song Wine.
Yes, there are two parts of this song that are taken from others, the word "Dream" is used in his most recent song, Snooze, and the phrase "your beginnings will be humble but your future will be prosperous" is also in the song Wings by BTS. I hope my translator chooses the right words, thank you very much for reacting to this wonderful song.
In early June this year I had the lyrics, "So far away, don't fall away" tattooed on my inner arm as a reminder to be kinder to myself. This is easily one of the songs that finally convinced me Yoongi was my bias because out of all of the boys I can relate to his music on a personal level - especially his mixtapes as Agust D. This version is beautiful but I prefer the one with Suran, maybe since I heard it first, but the rock-y vibe is just incredible in its own right too.
This is my favorite version of The Last. Jin and JK's voices are so good at portraying the longing and anguish of Yoongi's raw lyrics. I tend to listen to it whenever I need a good cry. Absolutely love it. My philosophy is that we can all relate to addiction on some level. It's just a matter of our personal choice of "drug": Alcohol, smoking, food, sex, pills, "the hardcore powders",.... What's in common are the feelings behind it and that's why so many of us can relate to The Last. 💜
Brian we all feel that way at some point - it’s how you handle it. I love this song so much, I just figured out the one part is in SNOOZE too!! So cool! Jungkook and Jin also sound like angels and Suga is just so cool 💜🫶🏻
Fun fact: if you watch the live performance of the song First Love that Yoongi does in the Wings concert, at the very end of the song, you hear the band start playing the melody for this song. The reason is that after Yoongi finishes his song, it actually goes into the vocal line performing the vocal portions of So Far Away. So there is “technically” a live performance of this song, it just doesn’t include Yoongi
This is the song that got me in to BTS it is so special to me, i had listen the original version of this song on the very dark day of my life, I was full of negative thoughts unable to express anything, listening to this was like someone is putting words to my emotions and it has comforted me, I cried a lot that day for all the things. kinda save me that's why Yoongi is my favorite, honestly I just don't only love him but also respect and admire him so much.
I remember crying when I heard a lyric video of this song the first time. I was struggling with college, I wasn't really feeling the major that I was studying (mostly because I didn't pictured what I wanted to do with my life). I was also mourning an activity that I really liked but couldn't fulfill because of my schedule (I was part of an orchestra but had to left), plus my tutors were divorcing and that was a critical hit for my mental stability. I was at my lowest point, now i'm studying another career and seeing a psychologist because I developed some healt issues (because of all that stress), but i'm getting better a starting to determine what I want for my future. BTS messages really helped me to stay strong during that time, you know the say "BTS find you when you need them the most"💜
It's one of my favorite song but I rarely listen to it because it's a little too overwhelming for me. It's a little easier for me listening to the Jin and JK version but Suran's I rarely listen to just cause of how much the song affects me. It's been 6 years since I first listened to it. It's the reason why I became an ARMY. I related so much to this song. They say you find BTS when you need them the most and it was true for me. The first time I listened to this song I bawled my ones out all night. The lyrics encapsulated what I was going through at the time. I felt so seen and heard by Yoongi, it was so comforting that somewhere, someone could understand what I was feeling and I wasn't alone. I highly recommend listening to Suran's version though there was a mistake in the lyrics, she sings don't far away, instead of don't fall away, but this is understandable considering most Koreans have a hard time pronouncing the L by the way it's placed in the word, it's a sound that they don't have in Korean if I understand correctly.
The Korean ㄹ is pronounced sort of halfway between R and L. Both English consonants don't really exist in Korean, so I wouldn't even say she got the lyric wrong. She just has a Korean accent, where it's the same actual letter. I can't even hear the difference between some Korean consonants, and I can't say ㄹ correctly to save my life - so I'm really impressed whenever a Korean says an R or L 😂
Also, there are two different versions of this song. The original on the Agust D album features a singer named Suran. This is a version they released as a gift to the fans.
no you didn't hear this song but you heard Yoongi's song called 'Snooze' that has a part towards the end where he also repeats: Dream (same melody too)
This song made me sobbing cry. It reminded me of when I had to give up my dream of being a writer. It's complicated. I basically felt like I became a different person who couldn't write anymore. Having a dream is really painful. It's a form of love. And like with all breakups there is yearning (so far away) and the feeling of being absolutely empty with the thought of letting it go.
There's a little special live of just the vocal line singing, it's a transition between Suga's First love and the vocal line song Lost. It's really beautiful !
Yoongi is my ult bias and So far away is my ult song. Whenever I feel like life is too much and I am reaching my rock bottom, I reach to So far away to save me. I actually prefer the version with Suran because of its more rock-y vibe and ending guitar solo but also because Suran with her female energy adds something unique into the song. The Dream part you did indeed hear before if you reacted to Snooze from D-Day. Yoongi incorporated parts of his Dream .... verses from So far away to Snooze, arching from his part to his present, closing the circle of evolution. GENIUS !!
AHHHH this is my favorite version of this song (the other one is on his Agust D mixtape featuring Susan a Korean singer). The song you were thinking of is "Snooze" ! He took that "dream" part and re-used it :))
The version with female singer Suran, is also painfully beautiful. Both versions are breathtaking. He has a knack of choosing awesome singers to perform the right songs with him. as collaborators from outside of the group, or from BTS.
Thank you Brian. I was waiting for you for so long to react to the Last and So Far Away. And at last!! These two are still my favorite songs from Agust D. So raw and heart wrenching but hopeful. I feel like nothing is too late to do whatever I dream for. By the way, when JK sings "first love" he is referring to Agust D's song First Love.
It feels so good going back to the memories of when I first listened to these songs, and each one of them helped me in a certain way. Like I used to be a kid who didn't know what she wanted to do after school. There were 2 things I was majorly interested in but both of those were far fetched at that time and there was no guidance or support from my family. I had no one to ask to being the eldest child in our joint family. I enrolled in college and still didn't know what exactly I want to become after completing my studies whenever some relative asked me. I used to feel inferior because of that and really low in confidence like I am a big failure that I don't even have any true dream. Then when I first listened to SO FAR AWAY, and N.O., and WE ARE BULLETPROOF, NO MORE DREAM... All if these comforted me a great deal. I realised society has never taught us to dream so it's okay if I don't have one at this exact moment. SO FAR AWAY is a song really close to my heart ❤ BTS are really doing the most human thing through their music & their beautiful existence we can't even imagine ❤❤❤ Much Much Love to them. May they always be happy & prosperous 💜 May all of you mistakenly reading it till last line be always be happy & prosperous and may you never be the reason for snatching that happiness from someone else too 💗 Thankyou for reacting to BTS ❤
The first version of this song, the one on his mix tape, features artist Suran. He's worked with her before. He won an award for the production of one of her songs. She's a great singer, but I honestly prefer this version. This version has all of the ad libs and JK singing "First Love". All of that is missing on the version with Suran. Yoongi's words about depression and pain are so accurate that it's a bit painful for me to listen to that part, but I love how hopeful and positive the last part of the song is. It warms my heart and soothes my soul. This is one of my favorite songs from a BTS member, not just Agust D.
Original song is with Suran and melody at they end is different. The end is more open, longer, guitar solo is wow and really it is great. I actually prefer original song bc if this, even tho I love Jin and Jk here as special guest. This song was special remix as gift for first anniversery of mixtape, and it was remixed with First love (Suga solo song from Wings album, in concert he used "So far away" melody when performing live "First love") that is why they sing it at the end "first love" and it was like this two song come full circle. There is actually very short live singing of this when vocal line sing line "so far away" as intro to another song. (You can find it on Enjoy BTS more) Yes, like all comments said the choures is used in Snooze but it is avtyally different? Hmm lyrics in teory are the same but intent is different and I read some info korean Army write the he used tge same lyrics but little things are different like here it is hopeful but also more likr talking to himself and in Snooze is slso with hope but for people, they said it is like little nuiace... Hmm
Hi, I don't know if you someone told u or not, but Taehyung dropped 2 MV from his solo debut album as prerelease, one called "Love me again" the other is called "rainy days"
Yes it's similar to Snooze "dream" 😊 and hs first love was the piano and the music. He has a song called First Love" i dont remembet if you also reacted to it already.
So rumor (but ARMY can correct if I'm wrong) has it that Jimin sang the original guide to this song and BH turned it down so it ended up being recorded with Suran. Apparently later on, Yoongi mentioned that the copy was lost so we were never able to hear it BUT I will say that during the Wings Tour, the whole vocal line joined in on the song. Jimin sounds heavenly and I wish that he would've been able to stay on the track if in fact this is true 😢.
yeah that is false, they never turned any version down, it is his mixtape, he can chose the artists he wants, but the vocal line sometimes help Yoongi with the demos, just like JK sang the guide for Dear my friend and the guide for People Pt2
Thanks for clarifying that rumor for me! I don't know where I've heard it but I have and when I went back to research it yesterday, I couldn't find anything about it. There is so much content though so you never know when is accurate and what is not! I've even seen guides that aren't 100%
