Metalhead Reaction to Jimin - Alone | Is Jimin Okay? 

Jimin feels everything so deeply, he has such a high EQ. He admitted right as they had their first on line concert with ARMY on video screens how difficult it was to deal with the restrictions during the pandemic (he at first didn't realize they were not a recorded message from ARMY, but a live audience; when he did realize it he burst into tears and sobbed). He stated later that he had thought at first that he was dealing well with the new rules and regulations during the pandemic, but he realized that he really missed his personal connections with the fans and being able to have concerts with live audiences instead of empty seats was very important to him and the members. Depression hit him hard and he admitted drinking too much during these repressive times. Yoongi said he noticed, but decided scolding Jimin would only push him deeper into alcohol, so he decided to just be there and listen and support his younger Brother and it worked. Jimin is a hard task master when it comes to himself and he pushed himself forward. He also did this when they thought of disbanding - he shouldered the burdens of fear and depression on his own and even gave ARMY great advice and his ears for listening during his Vlives. He could not be any sweeter and more caring if he tried.

❣️Like his song “Face-Off”, Jimin’s song, “Alone”, as well as the whole album, as Jimin has mentioned, is what he was trying to convey what he was going through, during pandemic, his emotions, thoughts, loneliness, despair, depression, that he hoped to share & have many able to relate to! Plus his voice is so beyond heavenly, stunningly beautiful, so eloquent, his ability to convey his feelings, emotions, what the lyrics are trying to say, his approach, the various tones that resonate, making you feel that much more what he’s feeling. What a phenomenal artist he is!

Jimin said after listening this album his father cried. This song is about when he felt lost and struggled his situation, he noticed all members except him did their jobs very well... and he thought what was he doing now.. So he felt lonely and isolated. During the pandemic many ridiculous thing happened to him in Korea. Even though he was a victim he was accused of unfair reasons. He was attacked and his personal information was leaked. I really can't understand why antis 24/7 focus on searching the reasons to hate him and spreading it.😔😔😔 Thank goodness he has his members to support him in any circumstances.🙏🙏

IM watching this and im crying......all members go through shit but .....Jimin.......the amount of hate he gets, he gets mocked, judged so harshly....sooooo harshly. He has had the most death threats to date amongst the group. It's insane really. Thanx for reacting, I like how Jimin speaks to peoples emotions and invites them to relate some how. In an interview Jimin was asked if his parents listened to his album. He responded that his dad did and his dad cried because he didn't know that Jimin was feeling that way. It really touched my heart.

This song is one of the best among the best in this album... He is talking to himself about himself. Pandemic was so tough to all of them. Suga felt the same way...

Loneliness and being alone are two different things. I sometimes need alone time, but find myself feeling lonely most of the time. I know that Jimin wrote the songs on his album describing what he went through during the Pandemic. I really do hope he is feeling / doing better. But you definitely made a point.....finding a deep relationship....romantic relationships are important. Unfortunately, our guys don't have it easy in that area. Not only the opportunities are limited, but some in the fan base make it extremely difficult for our guys to even think about dating. I'm hoping that they are able to turn off the haters and are able to find their significant others and have families...if that is what they want. I am an introvert, however, I am alone 95% of the time. I don't have many friends; my friend lives too far away to just go "visit" casually. Arrangements have to be made. My husband and I have been together for almost 40 yrs., but his job has him away from home 3-4 days a week. We were unable to have children, which was a big dream of mine. I suffer from loneliness a lot. I don't tell my family or friends because I don't want to worry them. Jimin's song REALLY hit close to home for me. I love his album. I also love your reactions and look forward to them. Thank you.

I remember the first time I listened to this song it made me want to not only cry for him but just to hug him!

This led into Set Me Free pt2 thankfully which closed the album and compiles his process from inner fights to overcoming! And this album has been really healing for him he is in a much better place! This is the difference in reactions when the artist is transparent with their fans and show so much of their life and struggles and love to their fans. The reactions become more relatable and personal like it was for a friend or loved one… someone in your life.

I'm sure someone else said it as well, but this song is about Jimin's day-to-day struggles during the pandemic and I believe he is talking to himself, much like Suga did in People--Part 2. We were all caught up in trying to survive day to day but I never realized how much it affected BTS. They kept us cheered up and they were dying inside. This is why we love them so much. 💜👀

The album is too good and this song hits hard especially since it is very relatable!! And also because it is our Jimin...we have seen him sad and cry but mostly for things work related...so to share this with us hits harder than I can explain!! He said he is doing ok now and I really hope so !! I believe the album helped him work through his emotions and feelings. Also, what came to mind for me is how tough the pandemic must have been for them specifically!! These are people that have worked non stop for 10years!! They are always together and so it must have been easy to mask whatever they were feeling all those years. But to suddenly be alone, no work to distract them from their true feelings and having to confront all at once in that solitude of the pandemic must have been a 100 percent worse for them!! When I did my first album listen, I was in a chat with a few other people - army fam but strangers - and we all collectively broke down at Alone 😂 It hurts so much, not just because he's telling us such true things, not just because he lived it, but because so many of us have lived it too. For what it's worth, he says he's much more okay now, and he sure does seem to be comfortable in his skin, emotionally expressive, easily honest about what he's thinking. It's so good to see. I think the album helped. I mean, if nothing else, he got to show us that he can be angry and swear and shout. That he's a whole person. Many of them have talked about the loneliness of the life they've led. Suga has been pushing back against the inherent loneliness of their profession with Suchwita, and even said it to Yeonjun and Taehyun. I want them to have fulfilling relationships, not just with each other and staff, but just as people. But between fame and rigorous schedules, that's a huge challenge.

I believe that Jimin said this album included songs he was writing since the beginning of covid. BTS was preparing for a concert tour, which had to be cancelled. Jimin is said to live to be on stage performing for Army, and this was taken away from him for an indeterminate time. It sounds to me that this song sums up his frustration and despair. Of course this is just a theory from listening to his sad tone and seeing those lyrics. We love you Jimin and wish every happiness for you. My favourite track is Letter, I could listen to it continuously, but Alone is also so touching

This is my favorite song from face. He is very open to us about his feelings and struggles. His lower tone is so nice and sexy. Unfortunately many people put him in a "box" and only want to hear his higher tones - I love both and he can tell so much with his voice

Through the roughest parts of my life so far I have been incredibly lonely. Lived alone as a single guy with no pets, no significant other, no familiar connection, and only 2 close friends in the world that I'd see maybe twice a month. Loneliness is really hard to deal with. You think "why me?" the whole time while doing your best to cope. It still doesn't all get better, but things do change. Even if it's still bad, it's not the way things were before, so there's a little hope.

the only thing that pops into my head when i hear this song is during bts online concert in 2020 called map of the soul on:e that happened october 10th-11th 2020 during the end of one of the concerts jimin broke down crying and i dont remember everything he said but the line i do remember is "why is this happening to me" and i just felt so heartbroken because up until that point bts had been my escape from the pandemic i was of course upset that i coulnt see them on tour cause it was cancelled and of course logically i knew they were having a hard time due to the pandemic just like everyone else in the world but there was a disconnect that i didnt put together until that moment that theyre is obviously things theyre going through that we dont know about its not just theyre out of work, they cant tour and see armys in person like that wasnt the only reason and up until i saw jimin break down i had thought that was the only reason. but like yes they love army and love performing but it just felt like he wasnt only breaking down because of that. there had to be something deeper. and we only know what they tell us about their private lives. with these solo albums were slowly getting a glimpse of what they went through during that time along with the festa video and every interview they do. we learned shortly after these concerts that suga wasnt doing well cause the next month he had shoulder surgery in november so theres one thing that was happening of course they were all worried about him as well as the performances so that was added stress. next we learned from festa that they planned to do the map of the soul tour then enlist in 2021. but all of that was pushed back who knows what personal plans were also pushed back we only know of their work ones that plus personal life plans could cause more stress and grief. we dont know how many people they lost during the pandemic personally we know many of them lost friendships and cut people out of their lives from RM's change and Jimin's face-off and j-hopes safety zone. but we dont know if they lost anyone due to the pandemic like if theyre dealing with people passing away. i do know a old bighit trainee and friend of theres did pass away around the time not sure if they were still close with him as he went down a bad path in life which led to his passing. but besides that we dont know. many of us as fans forget these men's lives are not just what we see they have whole other aspects of life that they dont show us and we either get glimpses or no info at all which is perfectly understandable but also heartbreaking because we never truly know if theyre okay thats what saddens me the most. they do so much for us and they seem happy in their contents or when they go live but we never truly know what else theyre going through that isnt work related. i love that they tell us a little through music but i wish i could help more besides just supporting them but thats not realistic. they will always go through things in life whether they share it or not we cant protect them from life and it just clicked when these solo albums came out how much they go through that we'll never know. like the fact jimin was depressed and drinking a lot during the pandemic but we couldnt even tell with all the content he posted, live streams he did, the online concerts they did at a normal job if someone was drinking excessively its easy to tell but because most of the content is prerecorded we dont know that when this random video is posted when it was filmed or what he was doing at that exact moment. its scary how he was suffering like that but we didnt even know until he told us with this album. we know they drink and we see them drink often but like not in a way that appears theyre trying to escape their reality. we basically see the like crazy music video the fun but we dont see the parts where hes down and alone maybe thats why he made that video the way he did to show us his reality. he says hes better now and i just hope thats true he does seem happier but again we will never truly know. but the number 1 thing they want us to do is to trust them. so i have to trust that theyre not lying when they say theyre okay. even though logically i know someone cant be okay all the time. sorry for ranting it all just clicked for me as i was watching your reaction. ive heard this song 100s of times since its release but it all just clicked now.

I think something I always think of is how much pressure is on them, not just to perform, but how they look and how they act, but even down to always having to be okay. Always having to be good. always having to be happy. If they aren't, it affects many fans (especially younger ones still developing their own emotional regulation), and they feel worse bringing their difficult times onto ARMY. So they constantly have to put this good face forward and it's impossible. I think during the pandemic, this hit especially hard because they had all these extra emotions and wanted to still protect their fans. People looked to them for reassurance they probably didn't feel. None of us felt. It was a freaking pandemic! None of us knew what it was going to end up like. And performers who live to perform and interact, it took away a big piece of their emotional outlet. All these songs being released are touched by that time. Then, add into that the complication of even if any of them dated, it wasn't a typical relationship. It can't be. You can't date a person of that status and have it be "normal". I don't know if they've dated (I would hope so), but like you said. Everyone should have those deep, personal relationships whether it's romantic love or something else. I think they do have a deep relationship with each other, but during pandemic, that was also restricted. I think the music we are getting now is fall out from such a difficult, uncertain time, and why it's so emotional and deep and freaking good.

@ Destructive Media, everybody interpreted the!song differently but my impression of this song “Alone” as a BTS ARMY is that JiMin is literally alone each one of them members as of last year at the Festa dinner said that they were each going to individually do their solo work so that means they have no more connection as a group. You are literally away from your brothers you are standing on your own 2 feet to do your solo album and other endeavors to market yourself to the rest of the world alone , It’s been a decade since BTS have been seven close brothers depending on each other when it comes to stage and talk shows etc. JiMin is doing this all alone promoting his FACE album. JiMin was on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and he was all by himself he probably had an interpreter to help him with some of it because his English is not as well spoken as RM. He is totally doing everything alone without his seven BTS brothers, yes they still connect with each other and talk and meet up here and there but they’re not performing together anymore they’re not getting on the airplane together they’re not eating all together like they usually do this is something that has each one of the members kind of feeling a little anxiety being away from the other BTS members. JiMin is probably feeling very alone at times he probably can’t sleep because things have changed he has to get used to being the solo artist he’s seeing his other two older brothers in the BTS go to the mandatory military service and all this is a new journey to him. everything has changed after a decade! We have to think that the difficulties that you do as a solo artist it’s more stressful and you become unsure you have anxiety you have problems sleeping you pace back-and-forth hoping that you can make this solo album a complete success. I believe that he knows that it’s gonna be OK but I did see on the RU-vid news that he really is close to J-Hope and he just went into the enlistment ceremony today and they all were there to support him and I heard that JiMin cried in the car on the way to the enlistment camp.😢 Jimin is a very sensitive person and I think that being that this is all new to him just like every one of the members are going through their solo album and promotions it’s all new and it’s all kind of frightening and it’s a little bit anxious for them and they are worried and it’s kind of breaking this whole thing up as a group to do solo. that’s my point ,my opinion on what I see and I think he will be OK just the music that he’s doing for his solo album is expressing all his true feelings and anxiety and everything that’s so different and new on this journey as a solo artist right now!💜🙏🏼 It will be 2025 before they’re all completed their military service and just looking forward for all the new good music to listen to keep patience and prayers for all the BTS members💜

All the songs on this album refer to his emotions and the isolation he felt during the pandemic. BTS were cut off from their performances, projects and personal appearances. Jimin turned to drinking more and he has talked about this with his members and especially with Suga on Suchwita episode 7. They all had those feelings of helplessness and long, dark, lonely days with nothing to do for 2 years. That’s when they made people-less concerts to offer their fans on Weverse and RU-vid, BigHit TV, Bangtan TV etc. They held more V-Lives on Weverse, more Run BTS shows anything to connect to their fans. As musicians, performers and artists they felt they were ‘robbed’ of their livelihood. Jimin - has always said his happy place is on the stage, so he felt this more than others. The team suggested he get all his emotions out in music-and he worked hard on it to show the fans that everyone went through those feelings and emotions during lockdown and the pandemic. So watch and listen again to the lyrics through the lens of how the pandemic affected him and why he sounds so sad, depressed and lonely and that he finally came out on the other side in Set Me Free Pt 2. It’s an emotional journey from beginning to end and he’s said to listen to it in order and all in one go 💜

He told everyone these were his thoughts during COVID and not being able to tour or work properly and how it all affected his life and those in the group as well. I see this song as his perspective about the despair of not seeing the end of that road.

You didnt know what will come, struggles to be alone with thoughts. are they ever perform again, is everything like this, is this normal situation. unknown whats will come, its hard, we all been there.He said earlier that he scared to be alone because he will tought so deep feelings. Its hard to stop, be alone, think real toughts , inside what you are, what you have , what you wanna. This one gets me in the feels every time I listen to it. I think he felt the isolation of the pandemic the worst out of all the boys as he is so connected to people on an emotional level and he felt he had that taken away from him. I can imagine it must have been an incredibly scary time for them after all their concerts got cancelled and their military enlistment was pushed back. The songs are meant to be listened to in order, so hopefully, Jimin has been set free from the way he was feeling. To some extant, it follows some of the things you feel with grief. Face Off was anger, Like Crazy was avoidance "I'm fine, look how much fun I am having", Lonely seems to be acceptance, set me free doing something about it, Letter wanting to share how he was helped and wanting to help ARMY/people he is close to also. Just watching performers get back on stage in the last year, you can tell how happy they are to be back. Not saying they missed the adultation, of performing just the back and forth you get when you perform live.

Isn't Jimin the nicest member of BTS

I think the big problem they have is working out who loves them for them and who loves them because they are BTS members and famous etc. Also Idols dating is a big issue and not generally accepted so they have to keep things hidden. I also know that Jimin has said he was very lonely when they were on tour back a few years. Not speaking English and being in a country where not many people speak Korean makes it difficult for them added to the fact he stays up super late and if all the staff and members are sleeping he has nobody to talk too. I think like all the members they suffered so badly with the pandemic because they didnt have the close up fan interaction it was all remote and they were performing to screens and not people.

Hey Bryan. I love this whole album. Do you have a favourite from it? They are all so good and different I can't pick a favourite - each one becomes my favourite in the moment im listening to it 😊. The whole album is excellent, and in perfect order and transition from one to the next, I always just listen from start to finish. Even though it's a shorter one, there is so much in the 6 songs. I think it breaks up the album really well, it sounds so magical and calming to listen to and just transports me out of the moment, especially with headphones. 😌💜🎵
