I'm 30 and love this type of music.

He’s in love with Christie Brinkley at this point. He’s also in love with her in the song Uptown Girl. The video with Girl is great!

Billy Joel’s two big talents are lyrics and versatility. His songs are all so different from each other, and they all tell amazing stories.

If you like lyrics and Billy Joel, I think you might really like "River of Dreams". It's gorgeous, upbeat, and introspective.

I recommend "Scenes From an Italian Restaurant" and "Vienna" , a couple of his personal favorites that he still plays on tour. Or a more serious song like "Pressure", "Allentown" or "Goodnight Saigon". Live versions are great and may not get blocked as much.

Billy was feeling like a teen again when he wrote this album as he was head over heels in love in his 30s after a divorce. According to his daughter this was written for her mom, supermodel Christie Brinkley, when he proposed. Every voice and sound on this recording was done by Billy which is very impressive. If this isn’t to your taste another song will be because he is so eclectic in his style. Thanks for the reaction.

Billy Joel grew up in Long island, and acquired a liking for R&B and doo-wop growing up. I'm subbed for Pentatonix, but since you seem to have stopped reacting to them, Billy Joel is another of my favorites, though as you have found out, his videos get blocked even more aggressively than theirs. He's a great storyteller.

Fun fact about this song is that he had intended to have a group of people do the background vocals for him but it didn't work out so he recorded all 14 vocal and backing tracks including the snapping, etc himself. The only part not done by him was the bass guitar line.

He says at the beginning, not that she's leaving, but that IF she left "there would still be music left to write". So, he thinks they have a good thing going on, but he's experienced enough to know that if it doesn't work out it's not the end of the world.

If you like lyrics, Billy Joel is your singer! As you said, he's very attentive to details and a fantastic storyteller. You can react to his "Leningrad", great and solemn music and its lyrics are quite like poetry...

Every album of his is a different vibe. This is his homage to 50s / 60s.
