You're right that the song is a tribute, the singer is the son of a great italian rock singer guitarist (Ivan Graziani) that is dead really young at 52yo (My age). But the sign "R.I.P." is not for him, is just a joke cause this show is the last of the EELST band. They were a legendary group, the most technically gifted musicians but with totally demented lyrics to piss on 'cause laughter. To understand the technical skill I would recommend Jonh Holmes, but to understand how funny he is I'm afraid that a translation is not enough for you.
I can't believe that someone asked for Elio 😂😂 that's a total 'Italian' band. I mean that maybe people from other countries can think that it's weird 😂. Anyway Elio and his band play music from the eighties and always with ironic and comic lyrics. They're funny. But they are also great musicians.
Don't worry, i think Americans have the equivalent of weird, and he is Weird Al Yankovich (omg i hope i wrote that correctly) i loved his songs about Transformers, Jurassic Park and Star Wars! Lol! 🤩😂✨💯🎵✨👌😂👏
@@victorfries8859 Mmmmh... I honestly think that Americans should go and fish out the music of Monty Python or the soundtrack of "South Park the Movie", to get a better idea of the satire of "Elio e le Storie Tese"...😏
Monna Lisa ♥♥♥♥ Yes, I'd like to steal her, I'd like to take back what belonged to me, Yes, I'd like to steal her, And hide her inside a potato box, for potatoes That parisian [museum] keeper, [which used to] spy on the little girls in the kindergarten, Has - now - his mouth full museum's tickets, for the museum. Up above a owl cries, And I've not started my job yet, now… Monna Lisa, Monna Lisa, Lisa Monna Lisa, Monna Lisa, Lisa Monna Lisa, Monna Lisa, Lisa Monna Lisa School is a great thing, Especially if they teach you to love The masterpieces from the past, However, it's a pity that you can neither see them, nor touch them. And Culture smiles at me Among the shadows and the velvet curtains, And I'm martyrizing The canvas with a razor and with my nails, with my nails. The [museum] keeper is complaining, Maybe he wants to be hit again on the head, now. Monna Lisa, Monna Lisa, Lisa Monna Lisa, Monna Lisa, Lisa Monna Lisa, Monna Lisa, Lisa Monna Lisa Downstairs someone is screaming, They're - certainly - telling me to come out, I don't grasp [a single word of] French, That's why I'm staying here a little more to think, to think. R.I.P Ivan Graziani: another great italian artist! (the singer is his son)..he was also a great guitarist and a vintage guitars collector & connaisseur
Elio and the tense stories were a band of music masters who enjoy laughing and making light rock with funny and ironic lyrics, a few years ago they came second at the San Remo festival with a brilliant song, it's called the mononote song and de written with a single note even if in reality during the piece the note changes and the text talks about this .. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lRq0TzYBris.html
Hi man, good choice. If you ever (and it will happen...) come across the monumental work of "Elio & Le Storie Tese", you can ideally think of them as a sort of mix between Frank Zappa and South Park...😏 But I'm just saying this to give you a rough idea. For sure, consciously listening to their music and understanding their satirical subtexts can almost become a part-time job...😄
Elio e le Storie Tese is simply the greatest Italian band of all time. Absurdly good musicians and funny too. You should really check out more of their stuff, especially live. This was from their farewell concert. Filippo Graziani is the son of Ivan Graziani, one of Italy's greatest guitarists, and also an amazing singer. They're playing one of Ivan's songs here... if you check out some of Ivan's stuff you'll hear how his son is almost a vocal clone.
The man with the white vest and black wig is Elio, the frontman of "Elio e le storie tese". They are simply great!!! Irony, craziness, absolute and total musical competence. Pure crazy genius!
As said by others, Elio E Le Storie Tese were a monument of parody music. The guy who sings in this song is a guest, he's the son of Ivan Graziani (you did a reaction video of a song of him). PS: the singer, Elio, is actually bald, but he always have fun with wigs or absurd costumes. Just to give you an idea of those people, they wrote the soundtrack of a porn movie and they performed the music during the movie, but not acting (...thanks God). And, at the same time, they played together with Santana, James Taylor, Adrian Belew, and many others.
It must be pointed out that it was not a random porn film, but produced and "acted" by Rocco Siffredi. About 1996-98 if I remember well. Rightly they only compare with the greats in each domain ...
Tris was the last concert (maybe…) from “Elio e le storie tese” in Barolo, Italy (I was there, an almost 4h long gig). This is why there is RIP 1980-2018 on the screen, the funeral of the band. The guy singing is the son of Ivan Graziani, author of the song Monnalisa, an immaginary story of a man who steal the picture from Louvre museum.
Yeah, welcome to the awesome Elio e le Storie Tese world! If you want to hear some good Italian rock I suggest you the suites ''Uomini col Borsello'' (for example the live version in Lugano in 2000) and ''Essere donna oggi'' (for example the live version at the Arcimboldi Theatre in 2009).
Filippo Graziani my fellow citizen.. Son of Great Ivan Graziani.. Monna Lisa is "La Gioconda" one of the most famous paintings in the world and the song tells the story of a man who wants to steal it from the Louvre where it is kept .. to bring it back home. in Italy
I also suggested you another song by Elio e le Storie Tese in a coffee :) looking forward to see what you think of their "almost" win at Sanremo Festival!
EELST is a great band, they really are part of italian music history. Sadly is very hard to appreciate their lyrics for non italian speakers but they can be absolutely funny just with their music. Some of my preferite songs that you may like just for the craft of music are "Plafone" (great piano intro and some very difficult notes hitted by the singers) and "igniudi tra i nudisti" (which is suspicious mind by elvis arranged backwards). Or just check some of the covers they did in the legendary "lugano tapes" like "out into the daylight" or the Zappa's songs performed with Ike Willis or the duet with Santana or James Taylor. They did so much cool shit during the years just pick whatever floats your boat (not for reaction just for fun)
I wanna say that Paola Folli, the female voice, is a great singer and vocal coach. She was one of the italian voices for the Muses in Disney's Hercules!
FILIPPO GRAZIANI is the son of Ivan. Elio e le Storie Tese are a group that are very intelligent bonkers. Here Filippo plays "Monalisa". He is a very ecletic musician and singer. This song was released in 1978 from slbum "Pigro".
It R.I.P. Elio e le Storie Tese. The man speaking is actually the leader of Elio e le Storie Tese, who are real musicians but it's a satirical rock band. I think they took a break for a while and that was their last tour, so the RIP sign. Filippo Graziani is the son of singer, guitarist and songwriter Ivan, who composed Monna Lisa. But Graziani senior died a long time ago, so it wasn't RIP to him. I'd assume that's not the only cover they played in that tour or gig, btw, since EelST have collaborated with plenty of artists
You have already listened to his father ( the father of the singer) Ivan Graziani " fuoco sulla collina". This one is from his father Ivan too " monna lisa".
You should react to "Come gli Area" by Elio e le storie tese and then to an actual song by Area, which is one of the most legendary band with an outstanding singer, Demetrio Stratos
You should listen to Mia Martini - Almeno tu nell'universo. She was a great italian artist who died in the 90s. And then, you also try to listen to Loredana Berté - Luna, she is Mia Martini's sister and she dedicated this song to her dead sister. Have a nice day!
Monna LIsa from the album Pigro by Ivan Graziani is a real jam. The riff is magic, fun to play, and you should definitely give the original version a listen. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CcUaVaJdkJ4.html
i generally enjoy your commentary but dude. At one point you compared this masterpiece to green day and i almost had a stroke. Anyway i have no idea how you cut such a very specific niche with the italian public, but i really like your channel.
Hey man! If you want to listen the original one, i sent it to you a week ago on instagram, i was the one that wrote you some context of Ivan Graziani 🤟🏻
