Riccardo is a legend of Italian music. Among many things he composed the musical Hunchback of Notre Dame and brought it to many theaters around the world
Riccardo Cocciante is an extraordinary poet, English subtitles are absolutely necessary! Otherwise you will miss more than 60% of the beauty of his songs!
the american edition of this album on 20th century fox, arranged by Ennio Morricone, was sung in english and reached the top 30 on the USA billboard charts back in 1976. This song in english was titled "I was waiting for you". Another song from that album "Lucia" was covered by Frankie Valli that year
An iconic phrase from this song: IT: "E adesso spogliati, come sai fare tu! Ma non illuderti... io non ci casco più! Tu mi rimpiagerai, Bella Senz'Anima!!!!" EN: "And now undress, as you know how to do! But don't fool yourself... I won't fall for it anymore! You will regret me, Soulless Beauty!!!!"
Riccardo Cocciante is another great of Italian pop music. This is a poignant and powerful interpretation. Mad, I recommend you listen to "Bella senza anima" performed by Mina. 👏🏼🎧🎼🎶
Bella senz'anima And now sit down On that chair Listen to me this time Without interrupting It's been a long time I wanted to tell you Living together with you It was useless All without joy Without a tear Nothing to add Nor to be divided In your trap I fell into it too Next I'll give him my place Poor devil How sorry it makes me And when he's in bed He will ask you more You will grant it to him Because you do that How can you pretend If it's convenient for you And now I know who you are And I don't suffer from it anymore And if you come from there I'll show you And this time you You'll remember it And now undress As you know how to do But don't kid yourself I don't fall for it anymore You will miss me beauty without soul
He's still alive and he still sings. He still has a great voice. You should read the lyrics, this song is fantastic. And in the same album there was another really big song "quando finisce un amore"
Even if he wasn't my reference artist, I can certainly say about him, as well as talking about a great and cultured character, who for decades has stood out in the Italian musical panorama, where many, especially today, hear of the Eternal Fathers , despite the fact that there are very few years of medium success behind them, of him, Riccardo Cocciante, whom I had the fortune of knowing personally for work reasons, meeting him in his life as a simple citizen, in two of his homes, the Umbrian one and that of Rome, and having spent (this on several days) a few hours with Him and had lunch together, to immediately find myself in front of not only a great Artist, but also an extremely cultured, educated Man (a rare commodity today) as well as simple and Always smiling.
I'm not a professional translator but I think this is a more faithful translation than others found online: BEAUTIFUL WITHOUT SOUL And now sit down On that chair This time listen to me Without interrupting It's been a long time I wanted to tell you Living together with you It has been useless All without joy Without a tear Nothing to add Nor to be divided In your trap I fell into it too Next in line I'll give him my place Poor devil I feel sorry for him And when in bed He will ask you more You will grant it to him Because you do it like this You know how to pretend If it's convenient for you And now I know who you are And I don't suffer from it anymore And if you'll come in the bedroom I'll show you And this time you You'll remember it And now undress In the way you do it But don't kid yourself I don't fall for it anymore You will miss me Beautiful without soul Na, na, na, na Na, na, na, na, na Na, na, na, na, na Na, na, na, na, na Na, na, na, na, na Na, na, na, na
Hi Madd!! Yes he is live 😊 andddd..... he have sing one song to SANREMO 2024 feat IRAMA..... SEE YOU... is a magical moment. The song is one of most beatiful song of RICCARDO COCCIANTE. THE NAME IS "quando finisce un' amore" (when finish one love). React this two favolous singer!
An interesting detail of several of his songs (not all of them) is that they don't have a real chorus. P.S. Angelo said "sheesh" near the end of the video. So does this word exist? :D:D:D:D
@@MadAng66 I searched and it does exist! It's an exclamation of surprise or annoyance 🙂I commented "sheesh" because some years ago former Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi did a speech in very bad English (there are videos in which he's teased) and one of the words he pronounced was "sheesh". This word was taken as the "symbol" of his bad English (he didn't know it was a real word).
Mad, lirycs traslate, And now sit down On that chair Listen to me this time Without interrupting It's been a long time I wanted to tell you Living together with you It was useless All without joy Without a tear Nothing to add Nor to be divided In your trap I fell into it too Next I'll give him my place Poor devil How sorry it makes me And when he's in bed He will ask you for more You will grant it to him Because you do this How can you pretend If it's convenient for you And now I know who you are And I don't suffer from it anymore And if you come from there I'll show you And this time you You'll remember it And now undress As you know how to do But don't kid yourself I don't fall for it anymore You will miss me beauty without soul Na, na, na, na Na, na, na, na, na Na, na, na, na, na Na, na, na, na, na Na, na, na, na, na Na, na, na, na
Yes, of course he is still alive. He also wrote the music and lyrics and sang for "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" musical "Notre Dame de Paris". Check it out in italian, it's very good 😊
Ciao! Ti andrebbe di fare la reaction di qualche canzone dei Negramaro? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1VUQykv3g14.htmlsi=71wLK53PKnJuKQwN ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fFNPSEOpPJw.htmlsi=HGgjK-0-m1sA3emI
Riccardo Cocciante great voice. Try if you can to listen "Cervo a primavera" with subtitles ... I was a just a child but the sound and the meaning was amazing
He is also known in France with very beautiful songs in French, like “Pour elle” "Un coup de soleil", "Sincérité", in Italian ' "Il mio rifugio", he sings "Question de feeling" with the singer Mina in Italian, then with Melissa in Spanish, and finally with Fabienne Thibeault in French.
Finally!! A song of one the greatest Italian artists..il maestro Cocciante. You should listen my favourite one, Margherita.. and then the duo with Mina - Amore - all of them with English translation..
Margherita is another one you should try...in my view the best from Cocciante. The orchestral build up is very abstract and psychedelic = worth finding a HD version and listening with a pair of good quality headphones (see if you can spot the bass oboe and basoon).
Beauty without a soul And now sit down On that chair And now listen to me Without interrupting me It's since long ago that I wanted to tell you Living together was useless It was all without a joy and without a tear too Nothing to add And nothing to share In your trap I fell too Enter the next one! I let him take my place Poor man! How much I pity him! And when in bed he will demand more from you You'll give it to him Because that's your way Oh, how easily can you faking it When it's to your advantage And now I know you And I don't suffer from it anymore And if you'll come with me I will show you And this time You will remember it Come on, undress now The way you're so good at But don't delude yourself Because I won't fall for it anymore You'll severely miss me Beauty without a soul
