It still burns me at how little time she got, and that she barely served time before being released. I wouldn't be surprised if she was a big part of Conrads depression, leading up before goading and ridiculing him into his final act. Dr. Kevorkian, that assisted people in terminal stages of various diseases in suicide,got more time (25 years I think) and still served at least 10 years before he was paroled (because he was dying himself of a disease) A travesty And yeah, this is probably the most simplest of their MVs, but something about it, visually, was really heavy. The floral shroud that hid his face....

one of the worst parts is that i have watched some youtube videos on this case, and some of the comments where defending her! I mean yeah she probably has a disorder of some sort, but thats not an excuse for the fact that she practically murdered him
@anzamoni
@anzamoni 3 года назад
@@thedisabledviking oh man SO MANY people defended her, I couldn't believe it. If she actually loved him, she would have helped him. I have depression as well, thoughts of suicide is a constant in the back of my head, have gone to therapy, meds, all that jazz, so, even if my experience isnt his, I know that feeling, and have had (ex)friends tell me I'm doing (selfhar.) For attention, faking, etc etc, and that only added more to the load thats in my heart, so, to know that he auffered similarly, and the person he loved, and he thought loved back, called him names for other failed attempts, told him to get back into his car when he had a change of heart. Just disgusting. She enjoyed the control and suffering she inflicted on him, she probably (definitely) enjoyed being the poor gf whose bf selfishly killed himself, before the details started coming out. Didn't she also, with help from her mom even, try to delete the texts and other evidence? I may be thinking of a different case. But if that was her, what innocent person would try to hide her hand in this. Sorry for the rant, lol, this is a case that will stick in my mind forever, it hits on a personal level

@@thedisabledviking You're absolutely right, all too often people use disorders and mental health issues as an excuse... For example, I have the same mental health issues as Aileen Wuornos along with many other serial killers, Borderline Personality Disorder. But that doesn't mean I can use it as an excuse to be an asshole, or worse, to people. At the end of the day, she goaded a man into killing himself, and regardless of whether she had a disorder or not, she needs to be held accountable. But you will always find people who will defend these people, mostly because they know they would do the same thing and want to rationalise it as being an OK thing to do.

@@thedisabledviking for me it's not about trying to excuse her actions but help others make sense of them. It's almost a story of The boy who cried Wolf.

Nah, I think she helped him. Think about it. You know a person that's been having a bad life, can't seem to get better. You want them to continue to live like that? I wouldn't. I mean at first, one will want to sway them. But let's face, perhaps getting on the same page is the right thing to do. Clearly he was talking about committed suicide for awhile. Oh yes, he wanted to do it. He just was just scared, all he needed was a nudge. I mean if he didn't want to do it. He wouldn't of regardless of of she told him to do. Meaning her trying saying every possible thing to get him to do it. But in the end, he did it anyways. Shure, he may not have done it, without that nudge. But he wouldof stayed somewhat miserable. Imagine all the family interventions, therapy sessions. All the people telling him to think in a way that he can't fully grasp. Or doesn't want to grasp. He would've been thinking, wow you guys really don't understand me, his whole life. Thoughts of suicide would be a recurring thing forever. He would've lived, but never completely happy.

They do a wonderful job building an appropriate atmosphere for each track. This one is especially nicely done. The foreboding atmosphere plays into how scary and overwhelming it must have been to have the one person you reach out to for help essentially agreeing with the thoughts and feelings pushing you toward suicide. She wasn't there when he did it, but she was acting as a behind the scenes puppet master type making sure he followed through with it. I think she was absent for that reason and the visible texts are an accurate representation of how she wasn't physically there, but she didn't need to be. She had him under her control.

From what I can see/remember this is the only (or at least one of very few) Skynd video that the titular persona does not make an appearance. The lyrics, the words of the woman's texts from the transcript, *is* the titular character representation/presence within the video. So, a lyric video, the the lyrics are, in essence, the character.

I think she (the singer) kinda symbolically was Michelle, at least the portions where she’s behind frosted glass (or whatever it was that makes her appear hazy). Idk if that’s what they were going for but that’s how I interpret it.

Excellent closing reaction. What’s pissed me off & is a fucking shame, is on Columbine, the end quote is placed too late after the other track cards pop up, so everyone stops, missing an important message, which, I believe, would put the piece in perspective 🙄

What is the message? (I don't think I've listened to columbine to the end it is not my favourite of theirs)
@Lestat13
@Lestat13 2 года назад
@@leobeboop4944 The quote, paraphrasing here, the those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it. It, clearly, ties the entire point of the video in one succinct quote, but, because it didn’t pop up for a couple of seconds & the cards started popping up, many reactors missed it. Unfortunately, leaving those unfamiliar with the group, feeling it was just a gritty reenactment, possibly glorifying that day.

I am having a tough time with them too. I like the songs & I'm fascinated with serial killers/crime cases in general, but I always feel wrong that I like the songs because I know the stories of these people and I guess because the cases are real it makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong. I just found out about them a couple days ago thanks to YT recommending them to me. I am loving how she captures everything, but idk if your wife feels the same way lol. I keep searching comments to see if anyone feels the same way trying to figure out if I should like them or not because the songs are definitely stuck in my head.
