Like you, I was also confused about the beginning of the video. But as I watched the behind the scenes video from this, it was clear to me that this is a continuation of the storyline within the ''Till Death Us Do Part'' video. In that one, Chris (as the Priest) runs off with the groom (portrayed by guitarist Pi). This is the next chapter into their story, with a brutal end to be exact.

I sing this to my wife. We met playing an early online game, chatted online for about 6 weeks then she came up to meet me. (I'm in Leeds, she was in Maidstone). By the time we met irl I was already in love with her, & she felt the same. I got a shock when I saw her though, as I thought she was a man. Her username online & her real name are gender-neutral & she has a pretty deep voice, like me. I decided that, even though she was a woman, I was too much in love with her not to carry on with the relationship. In March next year, we'll have been together for 21 years. My family couldn't handle it though &, when we'd been together for 2 years, they gave me an ultimatum, her or them. I thought they were being completely unreasonsable so I refused to choose. As a result they cut me out of their life for about 8 years. I was heartbroken but resolute: I simply couldn't be without her. Besides I was pretty disgusted at their anti-LGBTQ+ attitude & that they'd thought it was ok to make me chose between them. Thankfully they came round eventually. They're still not happy about it, but they don't call her names anymore & talk civilly about her. They've even admitted I'm lucky to have somesome so caring & committed to me & our relationship. In those 21 years, my health has plummeted. I wasn't well when we met, but was able to work full time. I haven't been well enough to do that since the end of 2003,. & have been bed-bound for over 10 years now. My wife does everything for me, feeding me when I cannot hold cutlery, even turning me over in bed because I have periods of paralysis, & she does it all willingly & without complaint. I've asked her to leave me, to find someone who will make life easier for her, but she refuses, saying there is no life for her without me. That's why my parents came round, when they saw how much she was doing for me & all with a smile on her face & kind words. She is genuinely the best person I have ever met, loving, kind, considerate & ready to help anyone without being asked. I really hit the jackpot when I decided to be with her, yet I constantly feel guilty for how hard her life is because of me. This song is a perfect fit for how I feel about her & us.
