Thank you all your videos on the Genie. As a result of your insights we have ordered a Genie and hope to take delivery of it some time in May 2024. Please can I ask for specific details on the Desert Products storage and Camp Master storage that you mentioned in this video? Sizes or product codes?
Thanks Graeme, that is very exciting, I am convinced you are going to love your Genie. The packing bags we use are firstly from campcover.co.za have a look at the "ripstop ammo pouches" , we use the "thirds" option but any of them are good, with the see-through lids you can easily identify items, then secondly we also make use of the desert products (4x4megaworld) "drawer system box - small) - what we like about both these options is that they are nice and modular and easy to handle.
Fantastic video.. Some advise, Please note that your Tire pressures you are running on the jimny is way to hard. 1.6 is standard unladen pressures. On Dirt/Gravel/Sinkplaat you should be going down to 1.0 especially in places like kgalagadi. The Recommended pressures provided in kgalagadi is not for Suzuki Jimny's but big vehicles. Rule of thumb with towing a trailer in off-road conditions as well is to have the tire pressures the same as your rear tires on your vehicle.
Hi, yes in the Jimny, if we camp with the room enclosure under the awning we can put the fridge on a fridge stand in the tent. Otherwise for short trips it stays in the car. Works well for day trips away from camp you still have you cool fridge with you. There is a more square nose cone you can get for the Genie that takes a fridge slide.
Hi guys, I’m considering buying a genie but it’s not an off road trailer. Maybe it can handle the Kgalagadi but what about Botswana and other destinations. Do you have any feedback or advice for me?
Hi Nick, we wouldn't be hesitent at all to take the trailer further out of the country it is very offroad capable. You can also shat to Metalian themselves for advice. Also have a look at the channel "Moving pictures Africa" they did Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana last year towing the Genie. That may help you to make the decision.
