To exist in the ionic state , it has to lose electrons, agreed as far as ionic bonding is concerned but for metallic there's no giving of electrons so why lose them ???? Is it because it can't exist in the atomic state or bcoz of losing electrons and becoming positively charged , their electrostatic force of attraction keeps them intact???
to achieve stability , like if 10 children is the capacity of merry go round ,and 12 children come and sit there then it will not rotate with stable ,it rotates like unstable ,slow and repaired merry go round , so it loses 2 children (someone come and took) to get stability this is what happening in atoms also, iron is stable if it loses 2 electron or 3 electron 😊😊 *sorry for my poor english
