CJ Carpenter I agree to an extent. This song "Nothing Else Matters" still feels like a Metallica song to me. Now when it comes to Silverchair they write nor sound NOTHING like they used to IMO. They let the format of Silverchair die but kept the name. This has nothing to do with comparing Metallica to Silverchair but rather the concept of challenging the fans.

Amazing... This is why I think Howard is the best at how he combines live music with actual stories from the musicians... As a 30+ year Stern supporter the reason he gets this is because a band like Metallica actually respects & feels good doing this with Howard...

@@danielvelikov4029 my interpretation was that James spontaneously improvised that all and Lars was very unsure where exactly he was going, so trying to stay laser focused to catch any signals so he could keep it together. I could be totally wrong. But I got the sense it was a rare chance to witness a little of the music-making magic actually happening ☺️

In the late 1991, back in Bosnia (Yugoslavia @ the time) when the civil war was in full there at the time, my friend played a guitar and he would always do the cords while I would just strum on the intro bit of the song ....
