Metallica - Blackened: Remastered, bass and all!

So, to address some of your complaints:
I made this when I was 13. I had Audacity, rock band stems, and almost none of the mastering/recording/musical knowledge I had today. I forgot to decrease the amplitude of each track individually before I mixed it, so that's why it's clipped. The drums have the snare all the way on the right and the kick drum on the left (or something like that) because that's how the stem came in, it was a stereo track. And I thought that weird stereo drums were better than boring mono drums at the time. If I was mastering this today, I would have done that differently. I don't remember what I did with the vocals, probably some stupid effect. Also I put WAY too many effects on the bass. I probably EQ'd it like 10 times when I should have just picked some low and low mid frequencies and some super high frequencies to brighten the picked bass. Also, unlike back then, I appreciate picked bass and basically all forms of music and musicality. I even play bass with a pick on occasion.

In other words, I FINALLY made a decent mix for Blackened. The track was a little brickwall'd (but still quite dynamic) from Rock Band, so I tried to put a couple DR filters in, but I still think the original sounds better. And seriously, I can see why 'Tallica left out the bass for the album. Jason(Pick) + Rest of band = FAIL. I had to soften the bass, give it a bass boost, give at a DR filter, get it at the right volume, AND take off a little treble. Jason sounds like he's playing a really low tuned guitar with a high pitched bass amp. Ahh, well, at least we can still listen to this. Once the entire album is put on Guitar Hero or Rock Band or something and the bass is ripped from the mix, I'll do an entire remaster. Until then, this is all we have. This and a 3 member band album.

What I should have done:
Turn down the vocals a bit.
Do more restoring DR'ing.
Make a better bass mix.
