it seems like a lot of people just watch a Metallica video to complain about Lars or to complain about the band. It would be interesting to hear these sames guys who keep complaining about Metallica form a band make a video upload it so we can hear how good you all are. I'm glad bands like Metallica are still playing and recording music.
they should read this www.blabbermouth.net/news/metallicas-lars-ulrich-discusses-his-unique-drumming-style-ive-never-been-very-interested-in-ability/ not Metallica but the peeps bitching
@jason decker:Ya I'm sure Kirk,James,Lars & Robert all have their days of not wanting the camera in the tuning room or dressing room etc, because I'm sure every tour stop they do is just non stop requests for oh do you mind if I film you guys in the tuning room etc. Then all the autographs for meet & greets & radio/tv interviews gets pretty tiring! & jet leg, hungover, malnutrition, missing family,or family/wife problems back home, gone on tour for 2-4 years on average for each new Metallica album.
as i understand it they don't really do it practise the tune per se it's more of a ritual.. most of the time it's the last thing they play in the tuning room and it being a faster song their muscles are warm and the mind is more attentive right before they go on stage. start a band yerself and you'll see people come up with all sorts of ritualistic lucky charms and all that
Ahh, yes. Metallica can still bang out the old school hits like it was 1987 all over again. Gave up on these guys when the Black album came out. Hated everything they put out, starting with Black.

Lars didn't want to learn drums seriously when he was younger. He tried six month with a teacher : how to perfect, how to read music...six month only and he stopped. I think, in music, experience help to play better, but learn the basics help much more. Lars is a "good" drummer, but he never pushed his knowledge a step further...
