These mist covered mountains Are a home for me now But my home is the lowlands And always will be Some day you'll return to Your valleys and your farms And you'll no longer burn To be brothers in arms Through these fields of destruction Baptisms of fire I witness your suffering As the battles raged higher And though they did hurt me so bad Through the fear and alarm You did not desert me My brothers in arms There's so many different worlds So many differents suns And we all have just one world But we live in different ones Now the suns gone to hell And the moons riding high Let me bid you farewell Every man got to die But it's written in the starlight And every line on your palms We're fools to make war On our brothers in arms
Chapeau à Metallica, reprendre du Knopfler n'est pas chose si facile... C'est une belle interprétation, j'adore le chant de James, le jeu de L'ars est parfait !
i sing this song every year at the new zealand anzac commemoration ...maori battalion were feared from the enemy ...they knew death was waiting so they chanted a haka war dance and waited for our god of war to lead into the pits of hell ....haere haere ra my brave warriors go into light be welcomed with out shame so when the life fades as the fading sun set your spirits may go to the one without shame
Si es de DIRE STRAIST, para que sepan todos los agueonaos, que se creen conocedores del Rock.....Aprendan.... le doy clase a cualquier Hueon............

+Elaine St. Denis i sung this song at our ansac day commemoration of our fathers from new zealand who were used and thrown into war known death was inevitable i cryed when i sung it known our brave men knew they going to die and to never to return to there wives and familys for king and country aye queen elizabeth fuck you bitch...
Laurie Dog Tarei i understand Laurie. The history of it for some, but not of New Zealand. My Grandfather was taken from England as a child and made to work in settlement camp in Canada. He was in both world wars.. first in infantry..survived, and then as a cook for the troops in WWll. I do not like wars. Would you please relate the time period you speak of and how this queen is responsible for the death of these fathers ? i mean specifically the event of your father.. if maybe you would share some details. This Queen Liz ..she is not more than a figurehead..a trophy of war. She is as trapped within her own family jewels as those damned who fight to conquer in her name and die in vain. And if these men had refused to fight for king and country what would have happened to them? Death..i suppose..execution. Same result but different outcome..perhaps. One scenario is man dies for the greed of others..typical. But then there is the option to die a free man that did not compromise ones principles for the desires and wants of others. Would it not be historic if ALL soldiers said NO MORE WAR and stayed home to defend their wives and families from the state governance which collects trophies? It is 2016 and time for a change for the better. And you think there is only one queen to blame ? interesting.
As much as I love metallica, I feel like james' really ruined the songs original feel. Kirk did pretty ok solo wise, He's no Mark Knopfler but I think he did ok. Lars was unsuprisingly offbeat at some points. Robert pretty much did his job and nothing else, not that that's bad. If anything i think he did the best out of everyone. The band ultimately took this song and they paid tribute to Knopfler and the rest of Dire Straits but when they tried to kick it up a notch it ruined it for me. This is just my opinion though, I still love and respect metallica to the highest degree, but this wasn't their finest hour.
I agree. I'm not especially into Metallica but I've heard some of their songs and I've liked them. I clicked on this video with an open mind but I was disappointed. I mean, even Joan Baez (of whom I'm no big fan) did a better cover of the song.
