"Disposable Heroes" is such an underrated song, it has everything one could ask for, killer riffs, brutal tempo changes, excellent guitar solos, awesome lyrics, etc, if you ask me, it is an all-time Masterpiece of Thrash/Heavy Metal. \m/

I've always loved how this album sounded. Flemming Rasmussen and the boys really made a masterpiece in every sense of the word.

Alongside 'One', this is one of the best anti-war songs ever. And a very underrated Metallica song (music + lyrics)

On my first deployment I blared this in my bradley... it took one deployment to realize how deep this shit hits. I did 3 in total. Now we're pulling out. My brothers, sisters and part of me died for nothing. Somehow none of these guys ever walked on a battlefield but managed to nail every emotion with their lyrics. Don't ask me how that works.

Kill Em All, Ride The Lighting and Master of Puppets are by far the best Metallica albums. Not to say their other stuff isn't good but this is by far the most potent material.

Disposable Heroes remains to this day my favorite Metallica song. The vocals, lyrics, riffs, solo, all of it is perfect and make it much better than Master of Puppets to me. Glad to see it get some love!

This album is in library of Congress because it’s so historically significant. Everyone should know the significance of this album. Thankfully now, Stranger Things have introduced Master of Puppets to younger generations! Disposable Heroes is THE underrated song on this album!

Thrash Metal eargasm !

Best song Metallica ever wrote! This song convinced me that Hetfield is the best rhythm player in all of Metal.

I started learning guitar 4 months ago... Today I finally played through the rhythm part on 100% speed and I'm so happy.

Two years ago, I had my high school students read an article about the Christmas Truce during WWI in 1914. I then gave them the lyrics to this song and had them write an essay on the horrors of war, the conflict between the people in power and the people who serve those in power, the significance of the Master of Puppets album cover, and an analysis of the article and the lyrics. Some of them commented on how sad it was that in over 100 years, nothing has changed.

The silences, the musicianship, that bass God, James' vocals, Kirk's adventurous solo...THIS IS A MASTERPIECE!

Well, this song is relevant once again. Many videos now show a lot of the Russian soldiers were just lied to, told that they were just going to have military exercises, not war. They didn't even know they're going to be just cannon fodders.

The solo honestly sounds like the best thing kirk has ever written. The transitions, notes, and melody choice are all on point. Perfectly compliments the brutal song.

So fucking happy this is real. Nice to hear that bass come through just a little more and have everything be crisp and clean.

It s such a great way of psychological defense against the blind power doctrin making people, young men , obliged to be warriors on the battlefied. One doesn t feel that helpless towards the opressive and aggressive politics when you listen to a band that expresses the topic and its underlying emotions like this. Great Work! This is by far one of my favorite songs of this album and of Metallica's entire discography. Insanely good and brutal as hell. Powerful lyrics, crazy changes of tempo, killer riffs, amazing solos and is very strong from beginning to finish. Always a pleasure to hear this masterpiece.

This is their best song, in my opinion. Amazing lyrics, changeups, and most of all the emotions of anger and despair are perfectly captured by the music. At the same time, it's not a ballad. They go hard af for the full 8 minutes.

Lars' drum composition, fill placement, beat changes, brilliance is very underrated.

The thing that impresses me the most is not the fact that all Metallica songs are great but that James plays all these fast, hard and crazy riffs while singing. Absolute GOAT of the guitar

Why was this in need of remastering? I love the original just as much. They should put some time into remastering Death Magnetic, so many good songs and riffs unfortunately "ruined"

I do like that they turned up Cliff’s bass. It was good back in ‘86 but the remaster just makes it that much better. Great record.
