The crash cymbals are way too quiet, the bassy sound with a tuned-down guitar and bass of this live version! This is my favourite song on the album along with Spit out the Bone! I hope that they'll play this song live here in Perth, Australia (if they'll come here...) Last time I saw 'Tallica was 2013 for their Guinness World Record breaking 'all continents toured in a year' thing, then in 2010 for their Death Magnetic tour. \m/ :P \m/

I'm not a huge fan of the mixing of this live recording, I'll have to hear this myself live. The performance was pretty darn good for their first go at it. Given a few goes at it, they will figure out how to make it really pop.

James is a freaking beast now. His style of singing especially fits best in the new album which is obvious but still man

Nah, they don't edit their live vids. When they played here in Costa Rica, Kirk fucked part of the Orion solo up, like majorly, and you can hear that fuck up on the live version released on their official channel.

I thought James looked down cause he doesn't remember all words from the song he performers. But, when you think about it, that cannot be true, cause they do have rehearsal before live performing it.

So Idk if you were able to pick it up, but my musical ears did. in the album version they play in D standard, so live James would for this tour have either used his Chrome Snakebyte or his Camo Snakebyte. So the guitars they are using aren't in D Standard. I played along with this version. Its half a step down from D. C# Standard. which is a tuning I never thought I would put metallica in the same sentence with.

I think it's probably a baritone guitar James's playing. He usually plays St. Anger songs on a baritone LTD SG (the one with green flames) due to lower tuning.

actually James was pretty good, At the beginning he was bad but after the solo he figured out how to sing it better. I'm waiting for the second time it's gonna be way better

He has more range live than ever before. He may not have as much grit like in '89 Seattle or something, but he's a far better singer at 54 years old.

The guitar tone in this live has lack of tension and heaviness. I think it's because they only put the distortion effect very much slightly.

The live version is a half tone lower than the original so it's even more "heavier", jsut so you know
